    LOL once, Reisling was the king of grapes in white wines Chardonay,is just an upstart and Suvignon blanc just a New Zealand bulk white, dumped here in Australia.

      Thanks so much, I really appreciate the compliment. Since I was a kid taking apart computer games and toys piece by piece, I've always wanted to break stuff down in a way that people can understand. Glad it works for you and so many others! Cheers! 🍷

    The sweeter riesling's are a great beginner wine for most people. Minus the petroleum/ plastic smell. Cheers!

    Who loves Riesling? Do you prefer the sweeter, or the drier style? What's your favorite dish to pair with Riesling? Leave me your thoughts here!

    I just found your channel, and I love Riesling. I enjoy a drier Riesling, though. This was fun to learn about.
    I look forward to watching more of your videos.

    Nice and simple . I drink wine daily for 40 years now .
    Surpriced that you did not recommend Riesling for
    Shpritzer . In my opiniom ideal for the summer ......

    For me the Gavi wine it’s the best white wine right now. Also the Austrian wine, like a Grüner is good too. It’s super light. I’ve been drinking Sauvignon Blanc for a decay and I get tired of it😃it’s always good to try something new.

    Marc! Been loving this series, thumbs-up👍🍷Riesling is such a versatile grape in terms of food pairings! I also think the alcohol percentage is a good indicator for sweetness in the German ones. Keep 'em coming my friend!!

    I love sweet wine but I'm having the opposite problem, all the Rieslings I come across are dry, in multiple stores they could have 4 or 5 of them but all dry! It upsets me no end.

    • @wine-living

      Have you tried Dr. Loosen Eroica yet? From Washington state and it's sweet. Also, the Finger Lakes makes some great sweet Rieslings, in particular check out Fox Run Winery.

    That map of Alsace is wrong. It only covers the Eastern 10% of the coloured part!!! The rest is Lorraine and one or two other areas. Anyway, pleased you're promoting the great Riesling grape!!!

    Very informative video. Only one thing: "Trockenbeerenausleese" is not the same thing as "late harvest"! Late harvest means "Spätlese" in German. A "Trockenbeerenauslese" is something entirely different. Greetings from Germany

    • @wine-living
      @wine-living  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello Gero, thanks for making the distinction; I should have been more specific in saying TBAs are dried-berry, botrytis infected grapes. They are often harvested late, but not the same as a Late-Harvest wine.

      No, it can also be dry. In my opinion, the dry Rieslings are the best!
