I had a Blacktron minifigure in my first ever set in 1990 and that was Space Police 6781 SP-Striker, back in the time when Lego was still highly innovative working with sound and light, unlike today. It's nice to see that Lego is remaking some of those classics and I hope we'll be getting more of those.

Just picked up the Jazz Club yesterday along with some odds and ends and got this, haven't built it yet but, it is truly quiet cool! Really want the 90 anniversary space ship as well tbh
Got one with the new modular building and like it so much that I had to go back and get the lions knights castle so I could get another. It’s very cool mixing them and stuff. Not to upset about the stickers although one of my sheets did come a bit wrinkled. Overall probably one of the best gift with purchases ever
I got mine and it's a very lovely set, I'm happy to have it. I still feel for needing to spend almost 200 dollars, Lego should have printed pieces, at least the nose, the tile piece with the area, , the back slope with the logo and the console. If this was an every day set you can just buy at the store, I'd be alot more forgiving, but this is something very costly to get. But don't get me wrong, I'm not going to throw a fit or anything I am happy to see more classic remakes, and I hope we get even more!

Interesting how, the new one is better in almost every way (as it should be), however the old one looks better with the trans red "solar panels", and has prints.
It’s a really cool set! I’m glad I got mine for free since I work for Lego but otherwise 190$ is really easy to hit especially for adult collectors. If you can find it I’d say it’s worth hitting that 190$ mark since you can get any set you want and then the blacktron as a solid bonus
I certainly found it to be worth it too! There wasn't anything huge I wanted January 1st, but I got a number of smaller sets, plus a substantial Pick-a-Brick order to push me over the top. Can never have enough parts!
For you Custom lego Minecraft, you should build a Minecraft ship-wreck module, because I think it would fit right next to your mushroom island module as it make seem like some transition to the next biome or what not, but always love you videos and have a good day 👍
I can't rember if I had any of these, I know I had some of Blocktron 2 and the magnet ones. I wish they didn't get rid of the stud on the metal detector.
Indeed! I didn't mention it in the video, but what does the original Invader cost, like $80 now? xD It's great to have these better-looking models now which are much easier to get!
On the sticer topic: I think LEGO is so expensive that you can expect every stickerd piece printed, especially those sets made for adults and are ment to be displayed I mean even LEGO Minecraft can do it in every set
Hey, this set is being shipped to me as we speak! Thanks for helping me feel better about my BrickLink purchase lol. I’m looking forward to building this!
@@CheeseyStudios It was like ~$40 which I didn't think was too bad, didn't seem likely to go any lower at least in the US. But because of shipping and taxes and such it came out to $60, oof. That hurt a little. But I think it'll be worth it!
What if Lego doesn’t do prints for their sets, but pre apply the stickers like how they do with the Mario theme? And maybe throw in a backup sticker sheet in case the pre applied stickers are wrong or you take them off.
I am very confused with the apparent Legend of Zelda Triforce logo everywhere. Not sure you know what I'm talking about but both the original set and the first Zelda NES game were released at the same time. Is that some kind of lawsuit copyright thingy. Why is blacktron three golden triangles, does this represent something?
I really, really, really wished they made Blacktron I last at least three seasons. Not only do they look great and their opponent counterpart Space Police I looked great, the fact that the sets were so modular in design, they really could have made a lot more interchangeable modules.
Really wish this one wasn’t a gwp, I’d happily spend $30-40 at some point to buy it but I can’t justify the $190 right now. Hopefully the bricklink prices don’t get too crazy.
Honestly the set is wonderful but I will definitely not waste almost 200 dollars just to get it as a gift with purchase, I'd rather buy it off of bricklink separately.
Blacktron are supposed to be the bad guys, but I can't take them seriously with the minifigures all having the classic Lego 🙂 face. They just look happy to be there, I love it.
This is it. This is how LEGO gets my money. Didn’t have a lot of LEGO sets growing up, just enough to make me love them today, so modern versions of classic sets child me dreamed of having is basically LEGO mainlining my wallet to their bank account
Why do the new stickers have you sticking black on black bricks? - Would have been better to have just stuck the yellow shapes on with the exception being the black triangle in the middle

@@CheeseyStudios It was like ~$40 which I didn't think was too bad, didn't seem likely to go any lower at least in the US. But because of shipping and taxes and such it came out to $60, oof. That hurt a little. But I think it'll be worth it!
The fees are always the worst. Just paid $30 to ship something too so I can relate xD Still I think you'll enjoy the set very much.
What if Lego doesn’t do prints for their sets, but pre apply the stickers like how they do with the Mario theme? And maybe throw in a backup sticker sheet in case the pre applied stickers are wrong or you take them off.
That would actually be really nice. I wonder how feasible that is. Hopefully they'll give it a go with all the recent backlash against stickers
Triforce Blacktron was the coolest design!
Right? It feels so ahead of its time. Simple, but sleek and stylish
The logo coincidence is quite funny. It doesn't appear to be an issue now at least as they're shamelessly reprinting it for this remake xD
I wanted to buy it, but for now I'm letting it go. These stickers really put me off. Great review as always!
That's totally fair. They've got nothing on the original prints
I really, really, really wished they made Blacktron I last at least three seasons. Not only do they look great and their opponent counterpart Space Police I looked great, the fact that the sets were so modular in design, they really could have made a lot more interchangeable modules.
It's a great space subtheme for sure. I would have loved to have seen what other sets they could have come up with!
Adventurers next?
I sure hope so! I feel this set would be a great option: brickset.com/sets/5938-1/Oasis-Ambush
Really wish this one wasn’t a gwp, I’d happily spend $30-40 at some point to buy it but I can’t justify the $190 right now. Hopefully the bricklink prices don’t get too crazy.
I hope so too. Hopefully the stupid scalpers flood the market and price tanks xD
Honestly the set is wonderful but I will definitely not waste almost 200 dollars just to get it as a gift with purchase, I'd rather buy it off of bricklink separately.
That's totally valid. I haven't checked the price yet, but hopefully it hovers around $30-$40 like Forest Hideout.
also there is ton of stickers which are ruining vibe bext to galaxy explorer
Galaxy Explorer is just too good!
I'm glad this was available when the new modular came out
It was great timing - an easy freebee!
@@CheeseyStudios oh yeah. I just hope they remake other old sets like they did with that classic spaceship
Same. There's so many great space subthemes to choose from!
@@CheeseyStudios well we got the classic one and black tron so maybe m tron next
I love it, what do you think of having a moon base for the galaxy explorer?
That would be pretty awesome. Hopefully we continue to get remakes!
Blacktron are supposed to be the bad guys, but I can't take them seriously with the minifigures all having the classic Lego 🙂 face. They just look happy to be there, I love it.
It's hilarious to think of them destroying your fleet of starships, all with that nice little smile on their faces.
This is it. This is how LEGO gets my money. Didn’t have a lot of LEGO sets growing up, just enough to make me love them today, so modern versions of classic sets child me dreamed of having is basically LEGO mainlining my wallet to their bank account
They're sure dang clever, you've gotta give them that!
Neat remake, interesting looking at stuff from before I was born.
I do love the old stuff. Things have changed quite a bit since the 80s!
Why do the new stickers have you sticking black on black bricks? - Would have been better to have just stuck the yellow shapes on with the exception being the black triangle in the middle
The square shapes really help with alignment! You're able to live up the straight edges to the shape of the bricks :)
Oooh I would really like one of these now.
It's a good one! Hopefully the aftermarket price isn't too terrible.
I have a question. Can i display it together with the galaxy explorer?
I think canonically they existed in the same universe as different space factions!
I own 6954 it's a set gifted to me by my father when I was young.
That one looks so cool!
This set is quite nice, fulfilling faithfulness but also making every so smooth and clean! I do hope they clean up other classic ships and sell them!
I'd be all for more. There's so many good sets to be done!
Bro that minifigure is absolutely adorable!
Perfection! Love that classic smiley face
My dream is to get one of each of these, then use the parts to create one perfect version of the Blacktron Invader.
That would be epic!
This is actually a really cool Lego set, I’m not much of a sticker fan either, but sometimes it is worth it for the extra detail.
I think it worked out alright here! Prints would have still been absolutely amazing though.
I have the new one, and I love it!
It's a good one - glad you were able to get it!
I kinda want lego to make a modern version of one of the old mars mission sets I really like mars mission stuff.
i hope they keep the remake promos up i think there amazing.
Agreed! They've been my favorite GWPs.
I would have gotten this if the Bionicle gift with purchase wasn't going to be available almost immediately afterwards
Yeah... LEGO needs to start making less desirable GWPs so I stop spending all my money 😂
Shame you cannot just buy it on its own. Not feeling like throwing 200 at lego but 30-50 just for this I could justify.
Hopefully the price on Bricklink will be reasonable. Forest Hideout settled on $40, so if this one ends up the same that would be quite alright.
Classic space remakes are so nice, I got this with my purchase on jan 1st and the set looks so sleek, I want to try and get the galaxy cruiser (that’s what it’s called, right?)
You'll definitely have to pick up the Galaxy Explorer if you can - it's a perfect remake!
@@CheeseyStudios it looks so good, so I’m 100% going to pick it up when I can!
@@CheeseyStudios I got it and it’s such a cool set, the access ramp is a fun feature
Just FYI the set number for the Invader is 6894, not 4894!
Ope, thanks for the heads up! Fixed!
hey! i showed one of ur videos to my mom and she was wondering if you do any other job outside of youtube (if so what is it ect.)
thanks!
I do actually! It's an equally ridiculous job actually - I'm a professional Minecraft builder for the Hypixel Network xD
@@CheeseyStudios i was thinking something like that! bonne nuit! (depending where you are)
Good night!
@@CheeseyStudios well now im curious, tu parle francias?
Not at all, haha - but I hang around enough French-speaking Canadians to recognize a handful of phrases!
Awesome video
Thank you!
That Logo on that Ship. . .
Looks like the Triforce from Legend of Zelda
Indeed 😂
i am so happy that mine instructions were not folded
Glad it's not the case for everyone! Someone said their sticker sheet got ruined too :c
i like that lego is doing redo sets for old sets
also i didn't know the microscope-y piece was discontinued
I took a look and it appears it was around from 1986-2002. Still a pretty good life!
Unfortunately the only remaining part I have of the OG is the torso, and some miscellaneous parts.
Blacktron parts definitely tend to blend in with everything else with its simple color scheme.
i hate the stickers but cant wait for mine to come in alongside the lion knights castle
Oh nice - you ordered the castle? :O
@@CheeseyStudios yea i figured it was about time and between the promo i wanted and i had enough points to get over a third of it off i just had to get it.
what did you buy to get it
I got the three smallest LEGO Minecraft sets, the Jazz Quartet, and some parts from LEGO Pick-a-Brick!
alright thanks
The Cheesey/Jang double upload
lolol I saw that too. Great minds think alike?
The old robot body should come back. it is so usefull.
And it just looks cool!
i want Lego to make more retro classic space sets
They've done a great job with these remakes!
i think the red wings on the new one does not compete with the old one
You lose a lot of that vibrance unfortunately. The original's are so striking!
18+ old for simple build - yeah its nostalgia release :). Stickers do rly are a bummer tbh.
Старый набор отличный, спасибо за видео!
No problem! :D
Love the set.
Me too! I hope we see more remakes in the future
F. I Got it too, Love it, And It Will be next to my origanal version Too. Thx for the vid i love it.
I sure like it too! Glad you enjoyed the video :D
I bought the new one for £21.99 on brick link
Nice find!
for the amount of money you have to spend to get the set its really dissapointing that they went with stickers still
Yeah. I feel they could have gotten creative and reused the same printed part in multiple places
BLACKTRON IS BACK!!!
I'm so hyped 🔥🔥🔥
Couldn't grab this one because of the price I needed to spend. There wasn't any sets I liked.
blacktron in legend of zelda confirmed.
Basically lol xD
The triforce spaceship
Indeed lol!
Nice set
I rather like it too!
This felt a bit like a commercial tbh
I'd be curious to know what made you think that and if it's good or bad. If I'm sounding like a robot, I certainly want to know, ha!
@@CheeseyStudios I meant it in a bad way, for me it felt way too much like you're selling the Jan 1 releases and the gwp just a tad bit more than those honestly deserve.
@@horesz1994 I appreciate the feedback! I was genuinely quite excited about this one as I love the remakes. I did pay full price for this with a $200 order, and it felt worth it to me personally.
WAS THAT THE BITE OF 87!!!! ...sorry Markiplier reference...
i do however regret not spending 190 euro on that black tron set...
lol! I don't regret it either. I 'had' to get a bunch of stuff from LEGO.com anyway...
4:13
No, just no.
Every wave of every Lego 4+ theme, from 10.- upwards comes with new and specialized prints.
It isn't unrealistic, Lego is just lazy.
Not lazy, but rather *greedy* I suspect...
So that front piece is the first Nintendo Lego eh? I count it as it
It's hard not to see Zelda 😂
@@CheeseyStudios lol
For a second I thought we finally got a Zelda set lol.
You definitely wouldn't be alone there 😂
