Most weapons that can pass through shields involve penetration or sharpness, such as sniper, throwing stars, driller, banana, pinpoint, penetrator, torpedoes, moles, shank, battering ram, and then you have a few extra weapons as well like earthquake, taser, zipper, relocator and apparently imploder. That's not all of them but that's a few examples. Also keep in mind this is level 1 shield, if they use shields often and upgrade them they can block more things like snipers can't pass through an upgraded shield, but ringer and laser beam can always hit through. But for moves that do get affected by higher levels of shield, it can be a big risk. Don't snipe them if you know they shield often for example. Yes I just read a reddit comment and regurgitated some of what they said.

Question: if overcharge makes your weapon do more damage but it cost you a turn, could you overcharge the first shot since you most likely won't die, then shoot a nuke, pyrotechnics, breaker madness, or another strong move and one shot someone?

It only increase the damage by 25% but you could do that
