- We explored a haunted abandoned asylum with power! We caught a lot of spirits and paranormal activity on camera!
Opening in 1839 as the Ffestiniog Union Workhouse, the most destitute and helpless men, women, and children in the area were housed here. Many of them suffered from physical and mental ailments and were forced to work day after day in harsh conditions for food and a roof over their heads.
There were up to 150 inmates housed here initially, with several revamps and additions through the years. The most unruly of inmates were housed in a separate vagrants ward that included six prison cells designed for hard labor. Since its inception in 1875, it’s the only building that has remained unchanged, still featuring the original cells where inmates were locked away, forced to break rocks in exchange for a meal!
Following a commission set up by the British Medical Journal to improve inmates’ conditions in the country’s workhouses, Ffestiniog was deemed unfit for purpose and was subsequently expanded in 1897. It was taken over by Merionethshire Council in the 1930s and redesignated as a Ffestiniog Public Assistance Institution, later joining the NHS as Bron y Garth Hospital in 1948. It became a care home for the elderly in 1954 and was gradually modernized becoming the Bron y Garth Community Hospital until its closure in 2009.
Though the buildings have been left abandoned and decaying for over a decade, many of the fixtures and fittings from its time as a hospital are still intact. Even the empty hospital beds and wheelchairs have been left behind, adding to the creepiness of this already terrifying structure.

Hey Steve. Interesting to see some different places but I prefer your original content. This kind of reminded me of those reality shows from the early 2000s which were basically people standing around with gadgets scaring themselves. Feels a bit "ya had to be there" and for me, I find it more interesting when you show the viewer around, interpret what you see, let us know a bit if history. Great that you want to diversify for sure, but I suggest keeping up your original content alongside.
I completely agree. I have been with Steve since early 2000. He is going into the dark and it will bring him down. I believe he should walk away from the dark side. Josh is not a good look for Steve.
@@ftc22 I think that people like Ronin's videos because he goes into intriguing places and feeds our curiosity; but also because he is quiet, respectful and personable. He's quite softly spoken and as a non-North American viewer, this is appealing to me. Whereas this video didn't have that overall vibe. So, not necessarily bad for me or that I didn't like the other people, but didn't have the same appeal and I think many international viewers may feel the same.

I think you would get better responses introducing yourselves. That shows you respect the Entity's that may be there .Also give time for the Entity's to respond. The questions seemed a little rushed .And always protect yourself. Not just a trinket learn about Expanding your energy for more protection, Its much safer than trinkets and more reliable. I would like to recommend that a spirit tell you to leave you probably really should leave and not push your luck so much. One of them could be trying to protect you from a nasty entity by asking you to leave.
But overall I'm in love with your explorations of all these places, and it honorable that u leave things the way you found them.
