never understood this argument. do you listen to an artist for their "upbringing"? no, you listen for the music. if he had every resource in the world behind him it still wouldnt matter because his music is good. same if he had no support at all. the music is what matters... and hollis's music is fucking incredible. not to mention bro is completely independent and also produces, writes, mixes and records all his own music, directs and films and edits all his own videos, does all his own cover art.. etc. he is the definiton of independent artist.
