Knight rider season 1 episode 9 trust doesn't rust karr scanner was yellow scanner in the vimeo video. Hope the Knight rider season 1 episode 9 trust doesn't rust karr scanner yellow in the new dvd revision.
If I looked closely, KARR was reactivated because the thieves reconnected the electricity to the laboratory where it was stored. This also means that KARR was probably connected (by electrical cables or other) to the laboratory's electrical installation. However, as the technicians who worked here knew perfectly how dangerous it represented, it seems rather strange and even dangerous that it did not disconnect or even destroy it after having put it out of service !

@@ArthurHILL-xp8bv I think that's fan made, so unlikely to be on the new DVD/Blu-ray. Plus I always thought the reason plot wise for KARR's scanner changing colour was due to his circuitry being corroded from being in salt water for 2 years, which caused his red scanner to go a bit dim and look yellowish.
For me, KARR, the evil "twin" (or, to be more precise, the "older brother") of KITT is certainly one of the best characters created in the series! So much so that it is a pity that he did not become a more frequent character and did not appear in more episodes (with the exception of the one where he makes his return in season 3).
Yes, this is a great Episode. But, KARR's programming of Self Preservation is illogical. he wouldn't have picked up those 2 bums, & then hightailed it outta there. He would've just got outta there as fast as he could go, & away from the knight Foundation so that he couldn't get deactivated again. Cause as far as he knows, Wilton Knight is still alive.
It would have been cooler if KARR looked identical at first glance but lacked a lot of features in KITT. Like having a flat front nose as seen on KITT in the pilot, fewer arrays on the scanner. simpler dashboard. But i guess it was ditched for budget reasons. So much potential for a continued story. By people who understood what made Knight Rider work in the first place. Sleek car, AI that conflicted with Humans but was raised well (Data, Uncle Bob in Terminator 2) complicated but very cool dashboard, tall, dazzling lead with lots of humor, Great supporting cast, occasional sci - fi vehicle of the week, Lots of heart. To name a few. Wow Knight Rider got everything right except the budget.
The story is KARR was designed first while Michael Knight was recovering from being shot in the face. They realized their mistake when they programmed him for self preservation rather than preservation of life. They put KARR in laboratory 3. Built another one and we got KITT. KARR remained in storage forgotten until these guys reactivated him
A good thought but I imagine since we saw him explode on impact that probably sent those diamonds flying but he was buried under sand for 2 years so who knows what happened
Arguably one of the best episodes of the series
This is a great TV show i don,t know why they don,t show it on TV no more, they show other older shows
This is one of the best stand alone single part episodes. To bad it isn't on The DVD collection's sold at places like Walmart.
I have “best of 80s”

I like the sound of KARR's scanner in "Trust Doesn't Rust".

There's quite a bit of humour in this episode - if you look for it lol.
Can't argue with that, good call.

Where is Cover Up 1984?
I love KARR's Sound.
That don't sound like no golden marmoset I ever heard!
“Come on KITT let’s check it out”
Eerie, isn't it?
..the german dubbing is more sinister than the original voice.
Part 2 even better when KARR returns

came here for karr!
Karrs got to be the most compelling of them both, even if he is more dislikeable
Why does KARR exactly looks like KITT?

When that thief loaded KARR with those diamonds shouldn't they have still been there in his season 3 return?
