Coincidentally, just the other day, I read that the role of Beetlejuice was inspired by the stage persona of/ written for : Sam Kinisson, even though he didn't get the part. ( Did the original character scream a lot and speak like a guy affected/effected by a past as a preacher, and childhood brain trauma?)
I think the reason they chose Macarthur Park is because, despite it winning a grammy, it was often derided as one of the worst songs to make it on the radio. Not that I agree, but that's probably why they had Beetlejuice sing it
finally someone with the same opinion, I was just seeing hype for it but was disappointed because it felt like too much at once without an actual set story that was focused on
It wasn’t that bad ; yeah the cussing is unnecessary. It’s not a perfect movie but I liked seeing Lydia and her daughter having closure at the end and mending their relationship. Wilem Defoe was fantastic ; Keaton too. Catherine O’Hara was hilarious. So some of us liked it 🖤🤍💚
I don't know if maybe just the 50 dollar version was more boring than my version (two tickets being around $22), but the movie was really good, I mean, I didn't go into the movie as some grumpy critic mad at everything Hollywood does, but it must be on me for not hating on everything. Not a fan of some of the actors either, and still really enjoyed them in this. Not once did me, or anyone else in the movie "check out", and multiple times the movie had the entire theatre laughing, mostly older people that were there for the "nostalgia bait" were bobbing their heads and enjoying themselves. Obviously your opinion is your own, but to insult a movie that went out of its way to appeal to the things we liked in the original(like the stop motion on the sand worm, which they could've EASILY made cgi) just seems like your trying to stand out, instead of just enjoying a sequal to a classic film.
What was the last great movie you say that wasn't a remake or sequel?
love lies bleeding (kino)
Just because my mind is on Michael Keaton... Birdman! But that was 10 years ago now 🙃
fallen leaves and Perfect days
my fave channel is back.

Sounds like a tv show squeezed into a film

Sorry, but people are running to the movies for a new property. Prequel, sequels, and remakes get butts in the seats.
Yup. Fell into the trap. This movie was so bad. The talent was undeniable which makes it just sad.
Why was this video so TRASH? I was hoping to find new channels but I feel everything sucks now smh
why engage with it then? you realize comments only help them algorithmically right?
