It’s really disgusting that some people have such little respect for ALL first responders and all it takes is a minute of your time to let us HELP someone in need!!! Those in need could be your family/friends. It takes 3 minutes for a house to burn down. Certainly everyone can spare ONE minute to pull over.❤️🚑🚒🇺🇸
Nice video. I enjoy watching. Suggestion: I’m from a northern Illinois suburb and have never heard of Thomaston. A suggestion would be to list the state in the headline. Love watching.
Holy. Where is this? People actually pull over? Around here, people refuse to yield and give FD the finger if they try to go out of proper turn at an intersection. I pull over and got rearended or other drivers fly by flipping me off while leaning on the horn.
@@CoolFireTrucks Unless directly punctured, usually the tanks will vent after heat builds up pressure in the tank. The fuel exits the relief valve and ignites while the tank stays intact. If you watch videos of RV fires, often the fire from the valve will make a lot of noise and a jet of fire until the tank pressure goes down, then the cycle repeats until Firefighters cool the tank down with water.
Fun fact about the Q siren: There are places where cities have banned the mechanical siren because it's too LOUD! FDNY uses the E-Q2B and had their mechanical sirens confiscated, because the sound was too widely projected. Interestingly enough, TH-cam is chock full of FDNY response videos where traffic doesn't move. Coincidence?
That’s not entirely true. The FDNY did not normally use the Q2B siren, they used the Federal model 28. The FDNY also hasn’t spec’d mechanical sirens on new apparatus since the 80’s. Any mechanical sirens on the apparatus were transferred in house from older apparatus by the members as apparatus was replaced or were supplied by the members themselves. Both of which were frowned upon by the shops. I’m wouldn’t quite say “confiscated”. As for one being louder than the other, that’s not entirely accurate either. The Q2B puts out 123 decibels and the e-Q2B puts out 122 decibels through a 200 watt speaker, hardly a difference. The big differences are 1) the cost difference, e-Q2B is approximately $300 cheaper, and 2) the amps needed for the Q2B to operate. For many of the cities, cost and repairs are the driving force behind eliminating the “Q” not necessarily the noise.
I am actually recording in 1080p. The audio problem is something to do with how it is mounted. I'm looking into it. Thanks for the feedback and for watching!
@@CoolFireTrucks I’ll keep that in mind! I already talked to the firefighters about it and they said they don’t do ride alongs cause of COVID so I guess I’ll have to wait until it’s over 😔
@@CoolFireTrucks hello- try isolating the dash cam (towel or old t-shirt under it, etc) and maybe look into a condenser microphone to avoid the peaking heard when the Q is spun up :)

You are correct. Thanks for watching!

nice looking town.
I think so too!

Great video, and merry Christmas!
Thanks! Merry Christmas to you!
I have a question. How fast can you go with full water tank?
It really depends on the truck and how much water you have in the tank...
Most firetrucks are governed at 65-70 mph
Per NFPA a tanker or tender is governed at 55 an engine at 65 I believe
Fire near propane tanks yikes. It goes boom with a big firework
Yeah never good when propane is involved.

Just had a stay in that hotel at 4:15 lol, pretty cool to look at be like "I freakin been there"
Can anybody explain to me what this spinning thing in the left corner is? Is this a spinning light or the siren?

Its a spinning light.
Here is a video of one: th-cam.com/video/Bnsn-iuil9w/w-d-xo.html

It's called a Roto-Ray. Basically a spinning emergency light.
Are people allowed to ride along on fire engines
Depends on the department and policy. Some departments have ride-along programs. If you are interested check with your local FD. Thanks for watching!
