I love the subtle jokes in all of Peter Kay’s work the “corfu for Christmas” is great, means he’s going to empty out the charity collection box and pay for his holiday! 😂
Don't apologise for not being able to upload stuff because of TH-cam. We're grateful you put the effort in to make separate edits so they don't get blocked. It must be frustrating to edit a video, upload it, it gets blocked, then you have to re-edit it, re-upload it and hope TH-cam don't block that one! So, a big thank you for that.
I know personally it frustrates him soo much!!
FYT
I'd say Season 2 is even better. :)
Definitely
Yep, I'd definitely agree with that.
Easily so much better.
Yep, and the spin off Max and Paddys Road To Nowhere, I would say is even better too.
Family Fun Day is one of the funniest things I've ever seen.
"Get back ya bastard I'll break ya legs" 😂😂😂
"Can you hear me now ?" 😄
I want 2 retro alarms in my life, this "Get Back Ya Bastard I'll Break Ya Legs" car arlam, and the "Wake Up You Lazy Bastard!" morning alarm clock from Men Behaving Badly
My daughter had the alarm as her phone ringtone, hilarious when it went off in the supermarket.
My dad did as well 😂
Mr Boomer, Thank you so much. You helped me get through my chemotherapy! Keep up the good work.
I'm not certain if these get blocked shooting stars and celebrity juice.
Warm regards, Bobby
The actor playing Den Perry is Ted Robbins, cousin of Paul McCartney, and uncle of Emily Atak from Inbetweeners.
I never realised that Charlotte is a young Emily atak
It's all lies
@@Stokie.Andy89 she's Kate Robbins daughter.
He's first cousin once removed of Paul McCartney yeah, a sibling of his daughter is Emily Atak.
I once had a recording of "Get back y' bastard i'll break your legs!" on a loop, as my ringtone. Someone rang me while I was sat in my Doctor's waiting room. I got the strangest looks from all the other people waiting and the nurses. Hahaha
Love how everything just keeps getting robbed! 🤣
“What happened to his head?”
He headed the football at the beginning.
The singing builders are the two builders singing in the first episode.
You should watch a show that Peter Kay did first called ‘That Peter Kay Thing’.
Also watch Phoenix Nights Series 2, the spinoff called ‘Max & Paddy’s Road To Nowhere’, Carshare & his stand up shows.
Don't forget pop idol lol
@@janolaful I didn’t really like that to be fair. That’s why I never listed it lol.
"Who's that? The Fonz?" 😅
Same here in the UK, back in the 80's and 90's nicking car stereos was rampant, so much so on some head units you could detach the front control panel or actually slide the whole unit out and take it out of the car overnight.
Ahhh the good old days!nicking loose change & poor bastards cassette collection.now 10 years olds are dealing drugs & joyriding.so in theory,in 45 years, things haven't got much worse since I was a kid.we stole,we had as much fun as we could & we learnt money was useful & powerful.although I never killed anyone or had drug addict parents
Overnight?? It used to take me less than 30 seconds from popping the window to running away.
You missed my favorite line, when Paddy is fighting with his big hair and Brian says "who's that, the Fonz?"
The trash bin that Den Perry threw his cigar into is the same one Paddy threw his 'Spray Maine' can into earlier...a lot of people miss that detail (the can is still in there, under some paper towels).
I heard a story where a guy in the north of England got so fed up with people breaking into his car and stealing his stereo that he put a fake one in and wrote a note stating it was fake, they broke in anyway and left him a note saying "Just Checking"
There is now a series 2. Re the car radio thefts, you are right about the 90s. This was made in 2001
King boomer: have you ever been asked to do a show called 'Allo, Allo' ? I'm really curious.
Only really liked the gendarme who got away with pretend swearing & the bed ridden mother.but it was early Sunday nights?oh to be young again😫didn't even no what a French prostitute looked like & then there was 2 of them😋silly fun
I agree. It's a really good show. Worth it.
"Who's that, the Fonze?"
Congratulations on 100k subs, 🎉 you deserve it!
It's great that you are tuning into the humour. Some of it may not be immediately obvious to you, and that's ok. But you're laughing in the right places so it's good. The club is just one big joke, and that's what we laugh at. In truth, it wouldn't survive a week over here, but it does no harm to laugh. Thanks again Boomer.
There are lot of callbacks across the show and indeed across all of Kay's shows. For instance the builders are the same builders who Brian caught singing with Jerry in episode one. Also Michelle Coffee (the singer who gets flustered by the all samples being played) appears in 'The Club' episode of That Peter Kay thing (which is basically a pilot of this show) and has a similarly bad 'Talent Trek' experience! Well worth a watch along with the classic 'The Ice Cream Man Cometh' episode.
Yes Boomer . Car stereos were separate and slotted into the dashboard and fascia and were also much easier to take out and steal . Later on the car companies devised a system where if the stereo was removed from the car you needed a code for it to work again and this made them virtually worthless and it cut down on the crime . Eventually we got to where we are now with the stereo built into the car as you said.
you really need to add Coupling & Early Doors to your future watch list :)
Coupling was okay but loved early doors.it was so simple but great down to earth characters.have mentioned to few reactionaries about this & royle family, dectorists & many, many others.but because of copyright the screens are blurred & small.it's easier just to watch the series on youtube.loved Mandy & cunk from the start but that's because I loved brooker.you got arronucci,Morris & coogan.Stewart Lee & Richard herring.baddiel & skinnerk.but yeah early doors!I came across a live stage show & it wasn't that funny.but had an old fast show live on stage vhs, which was hilarious.Bill hicks,Richard pryor,Eddie Murphy, even Steve Martin were wonderful standups
Love your reactions
Season 2 is really funny.
If you like British comedy try Early Doors, it's set in a pub and us really good.
Keep up the good work
Bryan talking about Brian, doesn't get much better than this!
Cheers KB!
Oh and Karate Kid might not have been your thing as a kid, but I sure hope you checked out at least the first 2 seasons of Cobra Kai!
Talent Trek
Star Trek
Amazing I love this program but man it’s all over the place emotionally Peter Kay is incredible he really does get under the radar of people and their foibles thanks KB❤
You gotta do the Outtakes vid for this. Funnier than the actual series with them cracking each other up.
Season 2 is hillarious!
He was a bus driver in an episode of bad. education, very funny cameo by him
I’ve got maxs car alarm as my ringtone and it went off when I was in the pub when it was almost silent… thankfully everyone had seen the show and pissed themselves laughing 😂
You got to watch Max and Paddy road trip really funny
Peter kay stand up, ch 4 comedy lab sketches, that peter kay thing, phoneix nights, hes worth diving into boomer. Comedy genius and a genunine local lad.
Omg I’ve just released Mary is played by Sian Gibson who plays Kayleigh in car share!
She was the barmaid that paddy was trying to chat up in the episode when potter fell in love with the undercover dwp bitch.in the same episo is,the fella with the dog in the dogging sketch(I'll let you Google him🤗
Love joining you for your reactions.
You have to watch Max and Paddy after this it is one of the best!
I've seen this loads and I never clocked Paddy's hairspray in the bin
Just caught up with your Phoenix Nights reactions and I'd forgotten how funny it was, I nearly choked with laughing when the car alarm went off! Have you ever seen Auf Wiedersehen Pet, it's more of a drama but still well worth a watch.
Series 2 The Rise of the Phoenix. Legendary.
True story boomer ,my mate put on his phone ,"will the man with the 12 " penus please answer his phone " it went off when the barmaid was trying to serve him ,he couldn't turn it off , the pub was in uproar 😂😂😂✌️
The singing builders are Charlie & Martin. They used to run the karaoke at Press Club in Manchester. Top blokes.
Talent trek is a search coutrywide for people with talent.one lady can do magic with ping pong balls😂😂❤
Glad you're enjoying this series from Peter Kay, he is a great comedy creator, his live shows are great too, check them out for your own viewing if you haven't already. The accents must be hard to understand, the northern one isn't known that well internationally I guess. Brilliant review
“Gone tits up” is a common English phrase for something gone wrong
🤠 someone nicked my car and left the stereo 😂
Ha yes, love Phoenix Nights! Gonna re-watch it here, your reactions to Peepshow brought me here 😎🤘✌
It's "Talent Trek" 👍
I need to see your other reactions to this, the last one I watched was out of this world hilarious haha!!!
Did you do the Car Share one at all, I cant remember to be honest lol
I'm definitely subscribing to your Patreon again though if its on there though, or they are? Well I will anyway you deserve it, you're very funny!
You definitely need to see the 2nd episode of the 2nd season though, cant wait for you to get around to that one, has me in tears that ep lol. My sister (one of my sisters) and her husband have recently just seen Peter Kay do live stand up lol.
Talent Trek. It's a kind of Britain's Got Talent for club land. The mark on Jerry's head is from heading the football, mud.
Really well done for pushing through with this show. Its subject matter is incredibly parochial within England and quite specific to us Northerners, though it was popular down south, too. A lot of the jokes and styles in this are VERY North West England.
The two old ladies you saw crying in the audience. The lady on the right in the black was Peter Kay's Nan.
Didn’t he cut off Brian yelling “The clubs on fire!! “. Can’t wait for SERIES 2 😊
I think you should do a reaction to The Young Ones 😂😂😂
A reaction and an answer to the age old Baja men question all in one. Superb
Talent trek is a talent show between different clubs. It's like Britain's got talent but different clubs take part.
@King Boomer it’s “Talent Trek” - for a talent show.
Ted Robbins (Den Perry) also appears in The League of Gentlemen
The reason the fire in the bin was so intense (notice the big "whoosh" on the cut) is because of the aerosol hair spray that Paddy hurriedly threw into the bin when his girlfriend came in. So although Den Perry is responsible by throwing his cigar into the bin, without Paddy's hair spray the fire might not have spread beyond the bin.
Series 2 is even better to be honest, hope you will continue these.
A Great show to react to (and forgive me if it's been previously mentioned) would be 'The Green Wing'... First shown on Channel 4, here in the U.K. It's a dark humoured comedy, about a Hospital and it's staff that'll have you in stitches mate - and the staff you'll definitely recognise from previous different shows you've enjoyed!
Brian Potter is all for himself lol.
You should definitely check out That Peter Kay Thing
Im sure each Scottish person has suggested Still Game about a dozen tumes to you.but if you want a comedy with touching monents thats the one,its chock full of them Alan (Eclectic Beard) loves the show
Max And Paddy is one series that spins off from this show, at the end of series 2
Car crime was rife in England in the 90’s. Cars were so easy to rob. At the time, Bolton was in the midst of a heroin epidemic and was regularly named as the car crime capital of England. The area’s where Peter Kay and Paddy McGuiness were from were particularly bad.
I love Phoenix Nights! God bless the 90’s ! 🫡🤣
love the stream i worked with a man and this was his usual working mans club he was a member for years keep the videos coming
your right it`s a vase, and yeah we call those things optics, measures drink dispensers
Back in tha day, at least here in the UK, even factory fit car stereos had a universal size. It made it easy to fit an aftermarket unit if you want to upgrade. It also made it easy to fit a stolen car stereo. Add to that there was still cars knocking about that only had radios fitted, nevermind a cassette or CD player. You had the perfect market for stolen car stereos.
The girlfriend of the guy with the hair is the same actress who went 'dogging'.
23:32 I don't know if it's a false memory thing but I swear on the commentary track of the DVD they all burst out laughing at the fact they called her Bonnie La Muff.
Back years and years ago car stereos were slotted into place.. They were for ever being stolen. car windows would be smashed just to get the stereos out.
The old lady in the front is Peter Kay's nana
Also you get the comedy more than any other people on here , it's only the references you miss and that applies to anyone watching a different countries TV . Peter Kay is subtle and in your face in equal measures but his humour is based around day to day ordinary life .
*Gordon Ramsay talks dirty. & Nigella Lawson talks dirty videos*
I strongly recommend trying The Vicar Of Dibley. Great comedy with great touching moments.
It gets funnier. Hope you do the max and paddy's road to nowhere spinoff after season 2. I love watching your phoenix nights reaction. Where did you get the ghastly from? I want one.
Peter kay does a series called car share it's hlarious
Really hope you do season 2 aswell.
Love Peter kay , he's from my town , Bolton x
You need to watch "Gimmie Gimmie Gimmie" with Kathy Burke! Love you guys ❤
Season 2 next. Brilliant.
Series two is just as good, if not better, because there's some context and character development. Glad you enjoyed it!
Yeah agree the 2nd series is just fantastic!
Most English people say vase (rhymes with mars). Most Americans say vase (rhymes with face).
Hiya m8, I've missed some of your vids. Have you looked at League of Gentlemen and Red Dwarf? Very British humour.
I've seen some of the American Audit (police) vids, some of them are very scary, I would love your take on how Brit police handle dangerous situations, and American police reactions to how the UK policing.I know it's not your usual type of topic, but I think you'd do a bang up job of it.
Johnathan pie made an election video king boomer 😊
Game on was a cracking sitcom in the 90s, i would recommend if you can get hold of it
Only Fools and Horses is written by just one man, John Sullivan.
Paddy's hair reminds me of Kramer from Seinfeld
If you can get them, try and also watch the out-takes.
When you've finished Phoenix Nights you might want to try 'Car Share' - also written & starring Peter Kay with Paddy's (the younger bouncer) girlfriend (Mary) from this episode, the lovely Sian Gibson. It's almost impossible to feel down if you're watching an episode of Car Share. Oh yes, it has some 'touching moments' in it too!
This show is so so funny!!
Once you know the characters you just get sucked into the show. It’s just very funny 🤣 🤣
You should also watch the out takes they are super funny
Please react to "Max and Paddy's Road To Nowhere" after this series. It's a spin off series to Phoenix Nights, very funny show with lots of muppetary you will certainly enjoy King Boomer :)
You need to watch ‘Keeping Up Appearances’.
Thank you.
It's northern England it's always cold😂
Even now in the middle of June. If it reached 20c they would call it a heatwave
Hi king boomer got a recommendation that you may find interesting Ross kemp extreme world he is a reporter/actor that spends time with British soldiers in Afghanistan at the hight of the Afghanistan war
re YT block Muppets
You do your best, it's fine. To quote Aristotle "shit happens" or whatever the greek equivalent is 😂
