I just got my karma doll today and I felt her hair and it’s ROCK solid. I don’t understand why they gave her so much gel like she doesn’t even have a special hairstyle. Either way, she’s gorgeous and I have a new favorite

This is the only doll line I've ever encountered that encourages washing their hair. I was taken aback when I got my first doll and read that. I don't want to mess with any of the dolls who have hair that is curled or styled in any way. I suck at doll restoration, and I know I'll never get it to look the same again. I did end up washing Violet's after I began brushing it, and one side felt coarser afterwards. It took over two days to dry, and there are a lot of hairs that hang down lower than others. Should I simply trim them? I'm pretty reluctant to mess with it further.
I know this is late so i don't know if you've sorted out her hair problem yet, but I'd recommend you just trim the longer parts to match the rest
Yeah, I was never a “hair girl” so messing with the dolls styling was a big phobia for me. The thing is, because I tend to love my dolls around and transport them various places, the hairstyles for them start falling apart. So, here I am!
Addressing your Violet; I don’t remember, but doesn’t she have tinsel in her hair? Or at least, strands of a different color/material? If it’s all the same, maybe try a tiny squiggle of conditioner or leave-in conditioner! After this I’m looking up the type of synthetic hair they use, because as with wigs, different materials have different heat/chemical tolerance. And about the longer strands, worst comes to worst they’re now too short. Go slowly and make sure all the hair is straightened down to it’s resting hight. Start low and slowly go up a bit at a time. Pause and inspect the hair as you go so you know when you’ve got your golden ratio. Good luck!!

I found this RIGHT after I spent 2 hours brushing out my gen 1 Amaya
I had asked this question to Clawdeena9 on instagram about how you can preserve some of the curls on the dolls hair like Bella Parkers or Poppy Rowans because I have no clue how to style doll hair and Clawdeena reccomended to wash with cold instead of hot water because it can preserve the curls a bit better, they will definitely be loose though.
Yes cold water will make it drop, and be wavy ❤️
also try foam curlers! that's what I've used to recreate the curls on my dolls. I put them in after washing, let them sit for 12 hours or so, and then spray a little hair spray so that they hold.
I got Harper Dune and Phaedra WestWard, and harper’s hair was rock solid, and Phaedra’s bottom of her ponytails was so hard! But I washed harper’s hair and combed it out and OMG. it’s so soft!
I'm too scared to do it because it might damage the hair lol
Don't worry, i washed just the hair parts that had glue with warm water and now my Jade is ok and gorgeous. 😅👍
Just about yesterday I went to my nearest thrift store and found a clean bratz doll with a hip hair Barbie i think. I gave it to my grand mother and as soon as I got home I cleaned the thrifted yasmin and she was good as new her hair wasn’t as silky smooth as karma’s hair was but it was better than nothing
I did this with my maya doll but I used shampoo only
So since my Amaya Series 2 doll has curly hair do I put all her hair in the water in the mug?

Do it just like the video, but before it dries twist the parts you want curled, it's what I do for pretty much all of mine..

I’m glad you made this video because people complain SOOOOO much about gel as if its impossible to wash it out like ummm have you ever washed your hair before? Same thing I rather my Doll come with gel than no gel because it would not look neat in its box and when cutting her out I would be scared if cutting her hair. 👍🏽 gel just makes it less messy and eye catching to the consumer no one what’s a Doll with mess fly wave hair in her box.
I think most people aren’t used to like super gelled hair honestly. Like usually dolls have bare minimum, but these girls 🤪
Yeah , I was not used to overly gelled hair - ( will probably never get used to it to be honest ) - and with the RH dolls it can be rather ridiculous amounts , totally unnecessary in my opinion and usually they are really lazy with the hair like they are with face molds and it is almost always the same - long and straight woth a few curly exceptions. Except of course for the huge amount of gel in the hair where the hair is gelled / curled ( or worse , both ) Ugh. I found some thing that looks a little similar to a rat tail comb but I think it did not have a name or they might not always be called a rat tail comb.....

Here’s my method. Brush the hair to separate the gel and wash it in hot water. While it’s wet brush the hair again and then shampoo

I bought the Amaya Raine raibow hair Version 2 Doll and there is a lot of the gel/glue stuff in the hair to keep it curly. It feelt really bad.

I did this to my skyler doll and it worked!
The water does take out the eyelashes but if you don’t want The eyelashes taken out right after you must dry the head off including the eyelashes but you don’t have to do the hair so yeah just taking pulling it out

Yes! Just gotta be super careful near rubber bands. I usually take hair down completely like I did with sunny.

We do! But I don’t got one x)
Some of us don't have nice big kitchens and such. I can't even remember the last time I saw a kettle. ( not counting online of course ) I don't have one and so far not sure how often would I even use it really since I am not a huge fan of tea and I know the water can be used for more than tea if one wishes but it seems like tea drinkers are the only ones who always have a kettle. If one has a small kitchen we are more likely to boil the water in a bowl ( microwave ) or use a pot for things like noodles.

Please be careful heating water in the microwave. It can pop and cause water to explode out causing serious burns. Especially if you heat it and then check to put it back in and heat it more.

yes, that's why you need to put hair curlers on your doll when you do boiling water washing. the result will be amazing
