When I became Muslim, I was drinking, smoking, dating multiple girls, etc. As I learned, I left my ignorance. Now I have a wife who wears niqab, beautiful Muslim children, and I read Quran in Arabic, Alhumdulilah. What I did have was clarity about the oneness of Allah, and I was certain that the Prophet was His final messenger. Everything else came with time as I learned. I am not Muslim, but I have studied Islam and respect Islam. I tell you this from someone who many would consider "far right". Allah swt does not forgive shirk brother. All other sins can be forgiven except shirk. When I became Muslim, I was drinking, smoking, dating multiple girls, etc. As I learned, I left my ignorance. Now I have a wife who wears niqab, beautiful Muslim children, and I read Quran in Arabic, Alhumdulilah. What I did have was clarity about the oneness of Allah, and I was certain that the Prophet was His final messenger. Everything else came with time as I learned. The companion didn't believe him and thought he only is saying that to save himself so he killed him. He later told the prophet (sallaAllahu alayhi wasallam) and reprimanded him "Did you look into his heart."
If shirk (the worst evil) can be forgiven and especially at such a time as evidenced by the aforementioned scenario, what can you say about what is less than that?

Allah swt does not forgive shirk brother. All other sins can be forgiven except shirk. Unless the person repents to Allah swt then he may be forgiven, but if the person commits shirk and dies without repenting, then Allah will not forgive him.

I think some people will be able to get notifications, but there doesn't seem to be much other benefit.
