🎄Now that our kids are adults we take them on vacation as their Christmas gift! It’s the best part of the year-being all together and making memories!!
Our family tradition is decorating our tree in Christmas pjs, with a Christmas movie or music on with hot coco! We also like to do a little picnic pizza night in the car and drive around to look at lights 😊
Oh, thank you for this! Those magnetic blocks--such a hit around our house too. My family also loves Fives Designs mosaic building tiles. We saw them at a school STEM night and have never looked back! My 5yo loves making a huge road across the living room with them to walk on and drive cars on.
Every Christmas Eve when I was growing up my mom and I would watch A Flinstones Christmas Carol before I would go to bed. Now with my own children Christmas Eve is when we order Chinese, open our Christmas Eve box and watch The Flinstones. 🎄
🎄Christmas eve church service is always just the best. In a season that can be crazy, it's always the moment I'm at least forced to pause and just soak in the moment!
🎄🎄🎄 My city goes all out for Christmas and my favorite Christmas tradition is when Santa rides in on the train in town and the local high school band plays fanfare for him, it’s the most fun night of the year. We absolutely love it. ❤
Thank you for sharing!! So many fun ideas!! One of my favorite traditions I started with my girls is wrapping up Christmas books. Each night in December the pick one to open and we read it that night. I always make sure to save ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas for Christmas Eve. I write a note on the wrapping paper that it’s for Christmas Eve so it doesn’t get opened before that. I use the same books every year. I used to love reading and rereading Christmas books as a little girl. ✨❤️🎄💚✨
🎁❄️☃️a tradition we have even with adult kids is eating garbage food Christmas Eve and watching Home Alone. We also always go to the church’s Christmas Eve service and often Christmas morning we get up early, drive to the hospital and carol on the floors for a couple hrs. Typically 20-30 of us show up. Temperature permitting as we live a ways out of town and -40 Celsius is not unusual over Christmas.
I bought my daughter the look and find books in Elmo and Peppa Pig. They are her favorite books to look at over and over again. They are so detailed and have little Easter eggs hidden throughout the book ❤
Zoo memberships are awesome. We live like 15 minutes from the biggest children’s museum in the US I think and every year their grandmother buys them a membership :) it’s awesome because it gives me something to do with them like a once a month at least
🎄Several things...We got our grand kids the little jungle gym climbing set last year (they are currently 4,3 and 18 month -with a new baby sister due next month) and they LOVE that thing. They use it so many different ways in their creative play. Secondly, I will second the experiences and board games for gifts. They are our favorite things. We have always had family game day on the rare snow days we get in North Alabama and it would be set up so each family member picked a game and we spent all day playing through each person choice. Now my kids are adults and we still all love board games! As for my favorite Christmas tradition, we have always gotten new PJs on Christmas eve and we change into them and then read The night before Christmas as well as the Nativity story from the Bible. Even as grandparents, this is still our tradition. It's important to me that my kids/grandkids get to enjoy their Christmases without the hustle and bustle of rushing from one place to another on Christmas Day so we always celebrate with them on Christmas Eve. I think its too over stimulating for the adults and kids so we made it a point to not have our big family thing on Christmas Day.
all my children are adults now but they still ask every holiday what puzzle are we doing mom? every year right after Halloween we pull out a Indepth puzzle some that actually have stories or mysteries that go with them and we work on them together each weekend thru to the new year.
I totally agree with you on the Prime Days being better than Black Friday. I almost always have 95% of my Christmas done at the end of October. I save the most and also find more unique gifts during Prime Days at Amazon, Target, Walmart, and other retailers. Target's prime days sales have been my favorite this year. Just bought my son a $50 toys for $28.50!!! He will be thrilled and Christmas will be awesome without breaking the bank.
I am a grandparent now to my first grandson who will be 2 on Christmas Eve, I am starting a Christmas tradition with him by getting him a custom made special book made every Christmas.🎄❤
🎄I have sooo many tied to Christmas. A favorite photo of mine is my daughter being about 1.5 and being in awe of the Christmas tree because my mom put it up while she was asleep. It was one of those Christmas magic moments of just seeing the pure joy and wonder in her face when she woke up and went around the corner and saw it.
Something my mom did when I was a kiddo, was make christmas bread. Banana, Pumpkin, Zucchini, and my favorite, Cranberry Orange. we would have butter or cream cheese. and eat that with coffee, tea or drink of choice. our stockings usually always had similar things year to year. Chocolate Coins and Coal, a candy cane stick, land o lakes hot chocolate, i always got hair ties and clips and bobby pins and a cd or dvd. lol Now that I am married and mom celebrates Christmas with Jesus now. We are still forming traditions and I guess we have some. Definitely adapted some from his and my side. Like every year we go to the town parade like his family always has. (we live in his town/state.) we look at christmas lights like my mom always took us. it was probably the only time her three kids didnt argue. we do the bread. WE ALWAYS put the tree up while BLARING christmas Songs. My husband was raised Christian with no pagan influences so no santa bunny or halloween or trick or treating. I was raised with santa. but my mom told me at a very young age and my mom always thought how strange it was that I remained faithful in the "spirit" of Christmas!! so our dogs literally know Santa Paws!! and if you say it too loud Nevi Girl gets EXTRA excited!! lol Just like they know Birthday Means they are getting Cake!! LOL IDK they are too smart!!
🎄There is a fire station, about 10 minutes away, that has a light show. We go several times. We get out and dance to the music, take pictures and then enjoy dinner out that evening. Usually, it’s Texas Roadhouse. Nothing warms you from the cold like a basket of dinner roll. It’s a wonderful evening. 🎄
🎄one of my favorite traditions is driving around to look at Christmas lights. Nothing fancy. Just pajamas after dinner and maybe some hot chocolate or a special treat.
I'm making my daughter's room a "big girl room" this Christmas. I'm asking family to help us buy the frame, mattress, comfortable set, decor, etc. She is already very excited for this day to come! 😊
100% make your list in April/May then watch for deals-but keep your eye open in February for amazing deals too. Amazon does amazing lightening deals-Prime days through out the year and whats crazy a week or two before a Prime day Target and Walmart will have crazy sales as well.
🎄🎄 our favorite Christmas tradition is going to the local botanical gardens for their Christmas light displays. This year I’m going to budget for a weekend stay at Great Wolf Lodge (indoor water park hotel resort) my kids love it!
🎄Great gift ideas! Thanks for sharing! The little hair and nail salons are SO cute! My favorite tradition-when my daughter was born I bought the book “Twas the Night Before Christmas.” Each Christmas I write about how we spent the holiday, milestones she’s meeting, and every Christmas Eve we read the story. It’s so special to see how much she’s grown! We also decorate cookies to leave for Santa each Christmas Eve which my girlie loves!
If any mama’s of one year olds see this. Get a tonie box!! I was hesitant that my son wouldn’t be ready for it as the age on it is 3+ but at 13 months he figured out how to turn it on and off and swap the characters and now he absolutely loves it. It’s been a sanity savor for this overstimulated stay at home mama.
I second this. My daughter loved hers/ was her big gift last year and she’s 4 now. She uses it every night we allow her one tonie and it’s so funny we’ll hear her singing from her bedroom thinking she’s screaming or hurt herself at first sometimes lol
We love our Boogie Boards TM (not the cheap, fake ones) that we literally got 6-7 years ago for Christmas. It's a drawing board that is perfect for the car, Dr appointments, restaurants, etc and screen free.
☃️🎄🎅🤶 When my adult children were little we always decorated the christmas tree together. With my 2.5 year old son we have started letting him help decorate. We also have a new granddaughter. I can't wait to see what new traditions we start with her
🎄🎄 for many years we went to cut a fresh tree. It was so fun! Now I invested into a balsam hill tree so I can enjoy Christmas longer! We also decorate a ginger bread house, we make paper ornaments and snowflakes as I did when I was a kid so it’s super special that my kids enjoy that now. We also build a fort and enjoy it a whole weekend and have special snacks and watch Christmas 🍿.
🎄 our tradition is that Santa decorate our entire house and tree on Christmas eve. It's so amazing to see our kids reactions on Christmas morning (makes it worth it that I have zero Christmas decor till then and an empty tree in my living room for two weeks)!
🌲 I started doing the notes thing a couple of years ago to keep track for my 3 kids! I will list the things i intend to buy, then once I purchase the item, I put the price next to it. This helps me stay on budget by seeing what I've already spent on each kid, plus i remember what i already bought in October and what I need to find deals for! I also set aside about $20 of the budget per kid as "last minute money." You know as christmas approaches they see all the commercials for things they just HAVE to have, so I learned to budget for whatever thing it is that they've never heard of until December 21 😂
🎄 I always make homemade cocoa. My Aunt use to make this for me as a small kid. She passed the recipe on to me. I now make it every year for gifts. And we love to look at Christmas lights and take some to drink. Thanks for sharing your ideas. So many get wrapped up in buying way to much. So thanks for reminding others of this.
Our Christmas tradition as a family of 4 with 2 kids under 10 is going to the police station for Blue Santa. We live in a town of under 1500 people so the kids on the tree are extra special. We normally let each girl pick one & then go to Walmart & bless them with $100 worth of gifts on their lists. Clothes, shoes, toys, arts & crafts stuff. My daughters love shopping for other kids so much we did 4 kids last year & they gave up some of their Christmas $$ to get another kid gifts. Made my Mama heart burst they wanted to do that! We're on 1 income so it's extra special for us to spend $$ on others. My husband was a kid on the angel tree & one day when we have 2 incomes again we're going to do the whole dang tree!!!🌲
Traditions at Christmas time was ICE in Baltimore and when my boys were much younger, I would get 25 Christmas/holiday books and we would rad one each night. Some were even borrowed from the library 🌲 🎁
Literally just ordered the magna tile road. I am a sucker for a good deal. My son wants the construction set. Which I plan on getting if I see it on sale. Them things add up! SHEEEESH
Hi Ashley! Love this video and your channel :) I would LOVE a men’s gift guide for husbands, dads, brothers, etc. I feel like I always end up giving them some sort of multitool that they never actually use 😂 You have amazing ideas and I’d love to see what you come up with!!!! Sending hugs and warm wishes to your beautiful family ❤
🎄what a great selection of ideas - I have 2 girls too they are a bit younger 1.5 & 3.5 but these are awesome ideas! I’ve already got most of Christmas sorted as I had the pressure of sorting it last min! 🤣
Just a tip. The crayola animal color and clean ones (cat one) if they lose markers or dry out the regular crayola washable markers work as well. We had the same issue. They came off the same.
🎄 Good tip on making a note - if I don't open the box right away (which I am determined to not do this year because no one wants to be wrapping on Christmas Eve!) I sometimes forget what I bought 🤣 Favorite tradition with my kiddo is going to our town Christmas tree lighting
With 5 kids, the list thing would be a great idea. My problem is i forget to put stuff on the list and then christmas eve im like OMG i overbought sooo much. Thankfully we have bdays in jan and feb so it can just go for that!
🎄 Loved, loved, loved the gift ideas! My grand baby is close to Bella’s age, and I can see her loving your ideas. I put about 8 items in my Amazon cart ❤ Our Christmas tradition is on Christmas Eve we always color a stocking for Santa to put gifts in and then we decorate a gingerbread house and make cookies (and even my husband participates in this even though coloring is not his thing). Of course Christmas music and a Christmas movie during this is a must 🤶🏻 Thank you for sharing! I am loving your Christmas content ❤️
I’m a spooky gal, and I’m still LOVING these videos! 🎄 I have a 3yo who loves to chew on things too! I told our pedi and she order some blood test to check iron levels. I’m not trying to fear monger, I just wanted to share a relatable experience
I seriously love all of these toy selections! I have a 3-year-old boy and an 11-year-old boy. The 11-year-old is so hard to buy for now but all of these are so good for younger boys and girls! Saving this video for my Christmas shopping! ❤🎄
I have three granddaughters, ages 1, 3 & 5, the one year old got that wooden climbing set for her first birthday recently, the ages recommended says 1-6, HOWEVER, its a little too much for the one year old right now (she just turn one) and the 5 year old is somewhat big for it. She climbs on it and it’s sturdy but in my opinion it’s more towards ages 2.5-4.5 year olds. 5 is somewhat out growing that one.
🎄My favourite Christmas tradition is carols, either attending an event in person on watching the ones on tv on Xmas eve 🇦🇺 The triangle part of the wooden climbing set is called a Pikler triangle, named after Emmi Pikler who is associated with the RIE philosophy of child development We’ve had ours since my youngest was 9 months and love it
when my sister and I were growing up my mom would let us open our pajamas Christmas eve and have cups for hot chocolate, now I try to do that with my 12 almost 13 year old❤🎄
Loved this video. I heard the Toni box will be pretty popular this year. It sounds like you need to buy different characters. Anyway, thanks for the great ideas.
I started my Christmas shopping on August 1, 2024 . I know the day after Thanksgiving Stores will NOT be ordering merchandise between November - December 2024 . The stores want to get rid of the merchandise , they already have !!
I was looking for ideas for my 2 year old son and these are great! He is our third child so he doesn't like "baby toys" at all and we already have so many toys. I wish we had space for the grocery store, for sure 8 and 10 year olds would play with it too. 😁
The younger one wouldn’t feel that way if you didn’t allow the older ones to talk like that. He’s young he’s missing so much by not having and enjoying the younger toys. Sad.
@@katemiller7874 Not true. He is NOT interested in those kids of toys, instead he is the only one who loves little Legos. My big kids own those, but don't ever play with them. The big kids actually have always preferred Duplo which we always have out.
Pro tip to hide small electronics (smart phone, ear buds, etc...) for boys - bottom of your tampon box, under the tampons! They will NEVER look there! LOL!
@@spoonfulofcleaning my 4 year old loved it !! Even if you only go one time I would get 1 annual pass to get 20% off food and merch we found the cutest things
So I dont have kids!! So maybe TOYS are more expensive on BF and CM but hubs and I have gotten GREAT deals especiall on Electronics and tools and crafts and Planners and I got a cricut for 129 and then hubs works at walmart so I got a discount. ALSO we try to wait on our walmart BF shopping until the NEXT week/payday because he gets 25% off for working during the sale weeks. I am a GREAT discount shopper LOL
Memory, Gold Fish, Uno, theres a gator and another fishing game. golfing games, old maid, theres old spelling games, just to name a few oh theres a dentist one that my nephew was OBSESSED with when he came to our wedding at 3/4
Haven’t finished the video but when you said you’re near the Asheville area my heart stopped. Are you guys ok? Did you experience any flooding where you are?
Oh no we are near Nashville so thankfully we had no damage! East Tennessee is heartbreaking right now!! We have friends in the area and it’s just awful all of the devastation.
@@spoonfulofcleaning I just watched a video , where a guy walked to Chimney Rock . It's so sad, what happened. We .even recieved rain and 75 mph winds from it . There's another hurricane moving to Florida and it will arrive something Wednesday .
🎄Now that our kids are adults we take them on vacation as their Christmas gift! It’s the best part of the year-being all together and making memories!!

This is me and my family traditions also but for the food we have a Christmas dinner with the family together.
My daughter can play with magnets tiles for hours. She loves them. I’m happy to see more holiday gift guides/hauls pop up💕
Oh, thank you for this! Those magnetic blocks--such a hit around our house too. My family also loves Fives Designs mosaic building tiles. We saw them at a school STEM night and have never looked back! My 5yo loves making a huge road across the living room with them to walk on and drive cars on.

Thomas train wooden track and table great for that age. And wood blocks and Lincoln logs all our grands still play with them.

🎄 Good tip on making a note - if I don't open the box right away (which I am determined to not do this year because no one wants to be wrapping on Christmas Eve!) I sometimes forget what I bought 🤣
Favorite tradition with my kiddo is going to our town Christmas tree lighting
You could ask him what he likes. Mine liked earbuds, gift cards, snacks and candy, headphones, sneakers.
Oh and books
Love the idea of keeping that list in your notes app!
❤ I love watching you videos
Dollar general right now has girls 10/pk socks half off $2.50 other ages too all my grands and adults get socks too this year
🎄My favourite Christmas tradition is carols, either attending an event in person on watching the ones on tv on Xmas eve 🇦🇺
The triangle part of the wooden climbing set is called a Pikler triangle, named after Emmi Pikler who is associated with the RIE philosophy of child development
We’ve had ours since my youngest was 9 months and love it
I had no idea about that! We've been looking at the since our girls were little.
❤🎄 thanks for all the great ideas! My daughter is three, so I will definitely be looking into some of these toys.
Thanks for watching!! 🫶🏼🎄
We’ve only had one Scribble Scrubbie but I’m pretty sure you can use any Crayola washable markers
when my sister and I were growing up my mom would let us open our pajamas Christmas eve and have cups for hot chocolate, now I try to do that with my 12 almost 13 year old❤🎄
Oh my gosh my mom did the same with our pajamas!
I love the notes idea, I buy stuff all year long, as things go on sale, etc, but I ALWAYS end up forgetting something, then I over buy haha
It's so easy to do!
My sons getting a bed. Lmao.
I also wanted to say I wish we were still in the $250 stage. I have a teen and a preteen. 1 gift costs $250😅😂
I have got some bits from charity shops for my nephew and niece. This includes books for like 10p each too.
Loved this video. I heard the Toni box will be pretty popular this year. It sounds like you need to buy different characters. Anyway, thanks for the great ideas.
I’m buying so much from this video 🎄 🎅
You can buy the scribble scrubbies markers separately! Also any washable crayola marker works
What?! Where? I've not been able to find them anywhere.
Great Christmas haul 🎄
Thank you 🤗
🎄❄️🎁 i have great memories of going to the movies on Christmas day with my family! (And we are Jewish 😆😆 but that was our tradition!)
So, I just found your channel and I think we live in the same town! ❤ How cool is that? Love your content and absolutely love all the Christmas 🎄
Oh how funny! Thank you so much!!
You actually can just buy the markers for scribble scrubbies.
FYI, if that happens again with your scribble scrubbie markers, just purchase a pack of Crayola “pip squeak” markers. They work just the same! 😊
Thanks for the tip!
Yes Ice is great we took them all once
Yes my grands got nuggets last year love em
New sub here loving your videos ☃️☃️🎁🎄🎅🤶
Welcome!!
I started my Christmas shopping on August 1, 2024 . I know the day after Thanksgiving Stores will NOT be ordering merchandise
between November - December 2024 . The stores want to get rid of the merchandise , they already have !!
Makes sense!
I was looking for ideas for my 2 year old son and these are great! He is our third child so he doesn't like "baby toys" at all and we already have so many toys. I wish we had space for the grocery store, for sure 8 and 10 year olds would play with it too. 😁
My second was the same way!! They grow up so fast having siblings to follow around.
Wait, did you already decorate for Christmas? 😆 love it
That I did haha I'm very strange
Every year I make my children and their kids each an ornament.
Oh that’s such a sweet thing to do!
Pro tip to hide small electronics (smart phone, ear buds, etc...) for boys - bottom of your tampon box, under the tampons! They will NEVER look there! LOL!
I went to the crayola experience and they use regular washable marker for the scribble scrubbies.
Oh good to know!! Also how was that? We've always been curious about going.
Memory, Gold Fish, Uno, theres a gator and another fishing game. golfing games, old maid, theres old spelling games, just to name a few oh theres a dentist one that my nephew was OBSESSED with when he came to our wedding at 3/4
My girlfriend keeps asking for the Lululinens Teddy Bear blanket so just bought that for her, I want one now lol.
❤I love family matching pjs
You have the cutest stuff so I’m sure they are adorable!! 😍
@@spoonfulofcleaning I can decide Elf’s this year or classic buffalo check 🫣 kinda really want to be elf’s lol
Mine love to paint rocks and hide them too
Haven’t finished the video but when you said you’re near the Asheville area my heart stopped.
@@spoonfulofcleaning it is just so sad to see all that devastation. Glad to hear you guys are ok ❤
