      Happy to help, thanks for watching my videos! Were you able to find it at a local pharmacy?

    Found your very detailed video that I will be using to clean my old VCR. I have a Panasonic PV-8450. While I have not ever manually cleaned a VCR, I am no stranger to cleaning and repairing electronic equipment and have a technical background. Based on what I saw, it seems like the direction you gave will be more than sufficient for the task. One question I do have is on the rubber rollers. Since alcohol could cause the rollers to dry up, do you have a recommendation for cleaning those? I don't think I caught what you used. Thanks in advance for your help.

    I have a very similar model, thanks for the video, did you ever made the video about digitzing vhs tapes?

      No, there was so little interest in this video at the time that I just did the project I needed to do and shelved the whole thing. Thanks for the message though, I'm glad you found it useful.

    Great video. What do you use to clean the rubber parts?
    Thanks.

      A lot of times the only answer is to replace the old spoiled rubber rollers and bands, eBay can be great for finding new versions, but if they're not too far gone you can try this: amzn.to/3UQ3YOq (affiliate link). Thanks for the message!

    already clean the head few times,but when put tape for play it will play few seconds and then no more picture only showing- problem head status-,what to do?

      Jo, it sounds like there is something more serious going on beyond just being dirty. Without knowing more or seeing the unit it person, it's hard to say. A Sony machine should give you a number code as the error message, I've never heard of a 'problem head' status error message, but I'm guessing you've got a different machine? Thanks or watching & for the message.

    can I use surgical alcohol at 70° to clean the heads

    • @DcSoundOp
      @DcSoundOp  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I wouldn't. The water content is a bit more than you'd want for most electronics and heads and the cost of a small bottle of 90% is so little at a pharmacy or grocery store, it's not worth the risk to me. Thanks for the question!

    I live in Constantine in Algeria.
    can I use ethanol at 96°

    • @DcSoundOp
      @DcSoundOp  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I wouldn't use ethanol, have you tried the local pharmacies? They should sell isopropyl or isopropynol at any pharmacy... two that look promising near you are maps.app.goo.gl/vZJ47bJxhiAVbQTN8 and maps.app.goo.gl/5amcM3TXsPMZmyyD9 - it might be worth giving them a call if you're not nearby.

    What is this rack device standing on vcr? It’s for digitizing?

    • @DcSoundOp
      @DcSoundOp  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It is a swticher / scaler - for switching between video inputs and converting them to other formats as well as scaling things to fit. Thanks for the question!

      @@DcSoundOp So can u clarify what exact model this is? Want to read about what exact stuff it can do.

    • @DcSoundOp

      It's an Analog Way OctoVue FX - one warning about these types of switchers... they are LOUD. They create a lot of heat & have pretty beefy server style fans that spool up and really get going at times. They are handy though & cheap if you keep an eye out for a good second hand one. All the best.

      @@DcSoundOp I read about it, wow u definitely should make some video review how u use it for upscale and digitizing. But I didn’t find is it do deinterlacing. For my setup I use rgb out from scart and upscale to 720p so adaptive deinterlacing included via cypress cslux 1080p scart to hdmi scaler
