Hunters gun is an Astra Terminator a very short barreled .44 magnum. But it's not as loud or recoil as much as his old 9mm which had a normal length barrel and had a pansy compensator on it
Remember getting home by 2100 Hrs EVERY Saturday night back in the 80's to watch Hunter. Loved it them and thoroughly enjoy it now. To me, it's better than any of the modern day police shows

I really liked that gun. He should have used that for the entire series, along with the Desert Eagle from series one.
