    I put together some of my favourite running items and some must haves to help with my running :) I started with a lot of weight to lose and no experience at all with running, so it's safe to say I was a bit clueless about what I should be wearing and what I needed to make it easier for me. I hope these items are helpful for you! Let me know if you would like me to talk about more in the comments below :)
    Running and weight loss are hard! I hope I am doing my virtual running buddy duties right here by sharing these favourites with you!

      Hey, running is amazing, I started 8 month ago with slow Jogging ( running at speed of walking) they call it Niko Niko, search it , very very helpful to start running. Also for dieting, low carb diet or keto then after adaptation to burning fat, I added intermittent fasting, lost all the extra with in 3 or 4 months!!! You have to know the reason why we gain weight so fast, when learning the keto diet, you know the main course of weight gain , which help you avoid it ( carbs) ! Good luck

      do run join a group of friends run together do some strenght work too but do it all with friends th being social is what will keep you going do not go on a specific diet just cut back little; honestly any diet where something is being cut out is nevr permanent youll find the fitter you get the more you run youll just adjust your food to suit and find you are gettng healthier

    I actually invested into some Shockz headphones. They are open-ear bone conducting headphones, so I can hear traffic, or in my case dogs, bikes and farming equipment. I got suprised so often by someone coming from behind me and now I feel a lot safer.

    I've recently started listening to podcasts while I'm on the treadmill. It's really nice because it stops me from constantly thinking about how much longer I have to run. Even with music I sometimes get in the mode of staring at the clock on the treadmill. Not so much with podcasts though.

    I saw you ran Manchester marathon with an Apple Watch. Did it last? The battery? I see you are now wearing a GARMIN which means you are a “proper” runner now unlike me who runs to clear the head. Great video Lucy. Glad that TH-cam recommended your channel. Ace videos mate. Your Manchester marathon and other videos are so inspiring and I want to run a marathon before I turn 45 which is 3 years away. I am sure your channel will help to reach the finish line :)

Thank you so much for such a lovely comment. I’m happy you found my channel and really hope it will help to keep you going 😀 You have so much time and I’m sure you can do it!! Love your videos! I found you from your marathon video, congrats also, so amazing!!
    Your videos are exactly what I was looking for, thank you for the motivation! I have a similar story to you, I was 230 and now am down to 180. I’m just starting running now though, went for a 1.69 mile run on Monday and going to aim for a 2 mile run this evening! I’m planning to run a half marathon in June 2023 so going to start training now and being consistent! It’s going to start snowing here soon though (in likely a month here in the mountains of Northern CA in the US) so now going to have to figure out where to run when it snows as I don’t have a gym membership or treadmill. Also yes on the cheap sports bra! I have a $10 one from Walmart and it’s my absolute favorite. And the leggings I love currently that I’ve been doing all my workouts in are from Amazon 2 pairs for $32 and they don’t slip, they’re made by Fengbay. I’m too cheap to buy any of the expensive brands! Lol but they are super comfy too and suck you in as well and again don’t slip like others do!
    Anyways, absolutely love your videos and looking forward to continue watching them! ❤️

      I’m happy you found them and they are helping 😃 You’ve done amazingly to lose that much, well done 👏🏻 I hope you have a great run and get those 2 miles done! That’s a great goal to have, plenty of time to get ready for it. Oh I hate running in the snow. I hope you find a way to get your runs in. Let me know if you do 😀 Those leggings sound great! Thank you for your kind words, you’re an angel 🙌🏼

      @@lucyshawvlogs thank you! You’ve done amazing with your weight loss too!!🙌🏻
      I ended up with 1.75 miles last night, I followed along again with a 20 minute 2 mile run audio and thought I had planned my route better but still just a bit short of the 2 miles but I know I’ll get there in time!
      &It’s tough walking my husky in the snow when there is sometimes multiple feet on the ground (which is her favorite time of the year lol) at a time so we’ll see, I’ve gotta do some brain storming to see where I can get some running in this winter! May cave in with a gym membership for the winter, we’ll see ha.
      & absolutely! You deserve all the kind words right on back that your putting out into the world, truly helping many people with encouragement in my opinion! 😊

    I haven’t tried air pods but I see a lot in races crushed on the floor. They are also not allowed at some races as you can’t hear the outside so I got some aftershockz aeropex instead as they are bone conducting so you can hear the outside traffic and world but hear perfect music and speaking through them too they are a game changer

    Hey Lucy, sorry if it's been mentioned already but which GymShark leggings is it that you use? Their website is full of different ones and I'm concerned I'll spend 30 quid on ones that won't fit so well with running.

    • @lucyshawvlogs
      @lucyshawvlogs  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey 😀 The ones I wear are the Vital Seamless leggings. But I think most of the leggings they sell are great for running, I just don’t like to spend loads of money 😂 I like the thick band these ones have, they stay up when I’m running.

    Lucy, how do you clean the bladder? I like the idea of a running vest but am put off by the bladder. Thanks for another great video.

    • @lucyshawvlogs
      @lucyshawvlogs  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I rinse the tube with water once I am done. Then I remove any water left over and hang it out to dry completely before it gets used again. I don’t always use the bladder though, if it’s shorter distance there is space for just a water bottle instead :) Thanks for watching 🙌🏼

      an idea for drying the bladder that I always use is I invert it over a paper towel holder (the kind that stands on the countertop). It holds the plastic sides apart just enough to allow for airflow so it dries really well, and it's the right size, and it's something I already had.

      The harrier run vest is really comfy and it holds collapsible silicone bottle with a wide opening and you can get a straw top for them so no need for a bladder sloshing about and easier to clean. Also keeping them in the freezing after you have clean them out keeps the mould away
