How to Restore a Wavy Synthetic Wig

- Hey GlamFam! I hope that you are having an amazing day! So today I am going to show you how to restore a wig, but not just that, how to restore a wavy synthetic wig! I know so many people think they have to throw away their wigs when they start looking busted, but you can restore your wigs and save a ton of money!

This can be done on wigs that are synthetic, it really doesn't matter if its heat safe or not. I also used fabric softener on the wig, a lot of my subscribers insisted that fabric softener helped soften the wig. I didn't have that experience, BUT the fabric soften helped the wig smell great! So, I think its worth it for that much at least!

The manufacturer says not to brush a synthetic wig. The curl will never return as the hair is basically plastic. 🙄
There is nothing wrong with not wanting to spend 600-1000 on what is essentially a vanity item. i lost most of my hair due to illness and, though I could stop other expenses and buy a $1000 wig, i think its silly. when i can spend 20-50 ach on 10 differnet wigs and still have money todo other things. Never feel bad for where you are. Challenge yourself to do bettertoday then yesteraday and you will always win.

My brother I did it omg I always just throw them away I said let me experiment on washing restoring this wig I followed ya steps I didn’t take the braids out yet I want to leave them over nite but I could already tell omg it smells good and it’s so soft thank u so much thank u sis for sharing his skills with us stay blessed never stressed ✌🏽❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

I soak my wigs in fabric softener for at least 30 minutes and sometimes overnight. It really does soften the wig.

Would a cheaper fabric softer work ?
@@kaylamoore3917 visit a dollar tree and pick up a couple small bottles of Downy and Gain!! They also have some off brands that smell AMAZING!!

Yes this makes sense because we have to remember we’re not dealing with actual hair, we’re dealing with fabric.

You’re AWESOME!! I just binged in five wig restoration tutorials in a row!!! I wear wigs occasionally, but am totally new to it. I was wondering just last night how people afford to keep buying these once they start getting friction-frizz in the back! Was bummed to have to throw away my favorite, but I will totally try this-AND buy from the link! My fiancé is Italian and Irish, but has always taken a bested interest in helping with my beauty routines, including washing and taking braids out of my hair! Beautiful! This video was so helpful how to wash it, the fabric softener, the braiding technic the hot water loved it all.
I do this with some of my wigs but ive never used fabric softener. My friend questioned me when she saw me doing this to a $19 wig but honey Ive had that wig since 2014 and it looks brand new lol. I get a few hundred dollars worth of wear out of my wigs but I can not have them looking ratty.

People are lazy think wigs are like pads use it for week or two. Trash it get new one. I've have 2/3 year old wigs. Not long but I take time with all my hair. Real or synthetic don't wear same one till nappy. I rotate them weekly.

I love it, that looks like my wig I restored last night mine is a 13/6. I was actually going to wand/ pin curl it, or pin it and boil it, but nah, no need this was FASTER. Thanks you two!!! I also sillicon creamed it so it got it's slip back too.

I must attempt to restore my fav wig, my natural hair protector. My hair is healthful as ever, & grew quite well as it was kept braided & well conditioned due 2 shoulder injury/surgeries.

Now that was a restoration! 🤩 it's easy to "restore" straight wigs, but this video showed simple skills that make a huge difference

Yes!!Very beautiful!!!I must add if you don't mind my saying so for your next restoration,it would do you really,really well if you let it soak.. here's the tip..soak it for HOURS PRIOR TO restoring the wig..as many as you like to get it prepared..it really,really contributes to an optimal result..also the scent lasts longer,and trust me,it WILL BE SOFTER.Works for me every time psst..Downy fabric softener works great😉Great video..keep em cranking out!!xo
