Agree 100%. She's one of the most mature persons (men and women) that has appeared in this franchise. There has been way to many immature people on these shows. She is a perfect fit for Joe.
Matt's maturity level probably wasn't the same as that of Serena's. Matt always delivers the same bland line, 'thanks for the feedback' but he had nothing to say beyond that. Seemed like a very surface level relationship versus Joe who is older and more nuanced.

I was thinking would she have allowed her family to have the same impact had she brought Joe home. Probably not since Joe was likely more of their preference and Joe two or three other women on the side. So good on them in finding each other and coming out with an engagement.
Serena’s family did not call it differently with Matt. Her Mother was all for it if that was who Serena loved. Serena’s sister could tell that Serena was not passionate about Matt and brought it to her attention. I think within herself, Serena knew Matt was not her person, but she tried to go along with the process. I think her sister gave her permission to not settle and wait for the one that she was without a doubt in love with. Watching her and Joe’s playful getting to know each other and then falling passionately in love, no her family would not have tried to talk her out of Joe plus Serena’s love for Joe is evident, but it is also with Joe’s love for Serena. Even though Joe said he was over Kendall, had Serena not been in the picture, he maybe would have tried with Kendall. I am so glad he knew he deserved better and went for it with Serena. I am so happy for them both. Love, love, love this couple. When I watch them I light up with the two of them because I believe that they have formed a relationship that few experience.
