Angie it is just gorgeous. I love your color selections and agree with your assessments across the board. Especially the remaining white. You just nailed this one. Thanks for the post. Mark in Tacoma.
Not how I thought it was going to look. Beautiful and vibrant. Love those colors. The white really makes the design and colors stand out. Could you do that on purpose next time if you tried to? I would love to see you do 2 shirts at once using the same technic but different color pallet, just to see how they would differ. Could you put the dye on first before folding or twisting then put it in a small bucket with ice to muck dye? I can't imagine how that would turn out.
Thank you! I agree, the white on this one looks really good. It is really tough to make two shirts exactly alike. It would be interesting to compare the different color palette shirts though.
Wow, I love this! Do you have any advice on how to ensure there is some white? I was really surprised that there was any white at all, let alone the amount that you got.
Thank you! It is sometimes a bit difficult to purposely end up with white on an incline dye. The dye tends to move and flow and fill in the white areas. I was pleasantly surprised that I ended up with some white.
Thank you so much! 😀 In general, it is easier to get good color saturation when the fabric is dry. Especially with thick folds like geodes and mandalas. When the shirt is too damp with those thicker folds, there can be white streaks remaining in the middle because the fabric is too damp and it won't soak up the dye. Kind of like a sponge that is already filled with water won't absorb any more liquid. Dry fabric will wick the dye into the fabric, kind of like a dry sponge. For this particular design, it isn't as necessary. I usually tie a bunch of shirts all at the same time. Therefore, most of my shirts are partially dry by the time I get around to applying the dye.
I'm not sure. I pulled my color swatches and there isn't really a color that matches. It is a little more yellow that Dharma's Avocado and a little more blue than Chartreuse. I think Loden from Pro Chemical might make a good substitute. It has a little more brown, but it seems to be the closest color that I have.
I like the pattern a lot, but I am not wild about the colors. They are too "Army Drab" for my personal taste, but they do work well together. Like I said it is a personal taste thing *shrugs*.
I actually gasped when I first saw this shirt, it is spectacular, Angie, Wow. Just too beautiful. Thanks for sharing.

Is there a benefit of letting the shirt completely dry? Love your videos

What color would be close to who's the moss do you think?

@@denisebonetti5049 You're welcome!
That pretty
Thank you so much! 😊
That’s 🔥
Thank you! 🙂
I like the shapes, but I'm not sold on the colors. A bit too murky for me.
I dont have any, but something screams "Gucci" to me about this shirt. Does that make sense? lol
It does make sense. I don't have any either - lol! This is more my style of Gucci.
I like the pattern a lot, but I am not wild about the colors. They are too "Army Drab" for my personal taste, but they do work well together. Like I said it is a personal taste thing *shrugs*.
