Wisport Whistler - English Version

  • Wisport Whistler can be purchased at www.wisport.dk
A modern survival / military backpack with a capacity of 35L.
The high comfort is partly due Wisport's SAS PLUS ERGONOMICALLY MILITARY carrying system. Its quality is at a reasonable level because it is made of Cordura 1000D, and the buckles are ITW NEXUS - DURAFLEX type.
    SEMI ADJUSTABLE SYSTEM (SAS)
The semi-adjustable suspension system is equipped with adjustable shoulder straps. This feature ensures improved stability, which are not affected by unevenness or dynamic loads.
SAS is used in backpacks designed for activities that require a wide range of movement of the user, such as climbing and skiing.
The asymmetrical hip belt is removable and reversible, allowing for better functionality.
All elements of the system which come in contact with the body are covered with AIR NET, which improves the air flow.
Depending on the size and design, SAS can support system will be further reinforced with aluminum or fiberglass rods to give the increased stiffness.
    Data:
    Capacity: 35l.
    Carrying system: SAS Ergonomic Military
    Material: CORDURA 1000 D
    Zipper: YKK
    Buckles: ITW NEXUS - Duraflex
    Weight: 1600g
    Inner compartment: 1
    Number of pockets: 7
    Dimensions: 50 x 33 x 23 cm
    Cons:
The rain cover is not secured, and thus it can blow away if you do not attach it to the backpack.
The carrying handle is located between two rows of webbing. This means that it is not applicable if there is a pouch attached here.
There is no elastic webbing in the small side pockets. This makes it difficult to use them when the bag is full.
    Pros:
    Rain cover included.
A rain / storm flap is covering all zippers, resulting in less chance that rain water can penetrate into the pack.
The support system is really comfortable to wear on your back / shoulders even with heavy gear.
All zippers are, in my opinion, dimensioned for the purpose.
Lots of straps and buckles so you can adjust, optimize and configure your backpack as you want.
You can attach other models of smaller backpacks from Wisport or the Whistler can be attached to larger models.
Good quality of buckles, fabric, webbing and stitching.
Mega long kompression straps (and webbing in general). So there is plenty of opportunity to mount additional gear outside backpack
PALS webbing throughout the backpack. This makes it easy to mount extra pockets on it.
Good padded shoulder straps with drinking tube keepers.
Good opportunities to adjust the carrying system.
Reversible well-padded hip belt which is dimensioned to the size of the backpack.
Good and big roomy bag with good opportunities to organize your gear.
A very good backpack that I can easily recommend.

Have you considered doing other wilderness based videos? A lot of your videos are gear review based, I would, and im sure many others would, like to see some wilderness based videos, such as maybe an overnighter where you do a few projects, use some of the products you review, and say if the product worked as well as it did when you reviewed it, maybe something of that nature, maybe some bushcrafty style videos, just something new, much love to the channel. -Kolt

Thanks for the review. I have recently bought this in black and I think they may have redesigned it.
There are no longer the side pockets, and the rain cover has been removed. The main pack now zips open fully to the bottom of the pack and there is a webbing platform and elasticated pocket for your hydration bladder. There is also an additional pocket that runs down the back of the pack between the padding and the main compartment, which is quite thin, maybe room for a laptop or A4 documents?????
Does your version have a removable spine under the SAS Plus system? I thought mine was aluminium which I was going to try and bend to shape to my back, but I ended up with a handful of fillings, not sure if this was metal or glass fibre???
    Thanks for the video!!!

      Mark,
thank you very much for sharing your observations on the new model.
Unfortunately I don't have the pack any more, and I cannot remember if it had a removable spine.
I will contact Wisport and ask if I can test some of their new models.

munch2006uk I hope it’s ok to share a link to Funky Preppers baby bag prep. I think he covers off the main features. If you are looking for a large main compartment, that isn’t split in to sections, then this should be a good contender.
I use mine with the Wisport Racoon side pockets for my shopping. The pockets will take 2x2 litre of pop on each side. The main section will take 2 x fridge backs of Cola (10 cans each) and 2 six packs and then smaller items. Hope this gives an idea on size.
      th-cam.com/video/2z2HtkmLzGs/w-d-xo.html
45 ltr Zipperfox might also be worth a look???

munch2006uk I don’t own one at the minute and I believe they do different sizes, so unsure how to advise. As the racoon pocket (9 Litre) will take 2, 2 Litre bottles with room around for softer, more bendable items, I would guess yes?
You may even get away with the Sparrow pocket, which is smaller at 4 litres which will take a 2 litre bottle and have room for softer / bendable items to go around.
As far as I’m aware the kettles won’t be bigger than that???
Both styles of pocket attach via pals/molle and have close via drawstring covered by a flap with quick release buckle with lots of spare webbing.

Hi, What backpack will you recommend for me ? I often go on one day trips but sometimes on 2 day. I want reliable and comfortable backpack. If I go for 2 days I take hamack and tarp for sleeping. I want frame in the backpack but it isn't necessery. I am considering wisport sparrow 20 II, sparrow 30 II and Whistler II. I am sorry if I did a lot of mistakes I am from poland but we haven't got good bagpack reviewer :)

      @Hunt2Eat  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sir,
if you go for 2 days I would recommend a 30L pack as the smallest pack, so you are able to carry some water, food and spare clothes also.
      Please share your experiences
