I'm not into safety-ism, but a couple of those machines looked exceptionally dangerous.
After watching this video I had to count all 10 of my fingers. Thumbs Up. I was able to count up to nine fingers. I lost a finger watching this video.
Wondered what flew out theback of my tablet! The dog ate it... you're not getting it back. Well, not in one piece and not clean.

That thing was deliberately engineered to chew off hands. The firewood is just a side gig for it.
That one made me shudder. Homie had hands WAY to close, along with wood with branches on it is asking for dismemberment
The 4th one showcased is actually a fairly smart design. Not as easy to use as some of the others, but doesn't have an excessive pinch point, has no dangerous moving parts near hands, and actually has a proper e-stop switch at an easily activated level if needed. Tis probably the only really safe one out of the bunch.
The danger pinch points are coloured red AND an emergency stop? Living a life of luxury

The drill one is the safest and uses the smallest motor(efficient). If your hand is Infront or behind the wood on the fourth when it presses into it you're losing it, hand would be gone long before you got to the estop. As long as you're not wearing gloves with the drill one you would probably only receive a minor flesh injury or a poke from it. It wouldn't suck you in like it does the wood because flesh has different properties.
That one is made in Vietnam, right?

The little green one at the end was a sweet machine!
That last machine was set up alot better for length the wood was cut. Alot more practical.

Head first for sure. The pain would be bad for .25 seconds, but it doesn’t matter after that.
@@Mobeast99Actually, the pain probably wouldn't be too bad relative to other body parts. You don't really have too many nerve endings in your scalp and head. Hands first would probably be the most painful.

Dangerous? Any machine can be dangerous if improperly used. Common sense is the biggest factor in safety.

Only one machine, possibly the least dangerous had an emergency stop. In for a finger, in for an arm!!
the 1st machine design should be like the machine on 15:00 , it has a guide for the woods, it cuts all the wood till the end and its safer
it should be like the machine at 22:40 with the blades fully encased and a large funnel in front.
All machines were OSHA approved before filming !

None of these work for decent fire wood like hickory, pecan or oak
These for splitting can split oak, those that cut can't take anything bigger than 4 inches

if you want to be extra safe with dangerous contraptions , wear gloves and a long sleeve shirt , it will help . pull you in .
