Beta Aesthetics has this strange feeling that is very difficult to describe, I can only say it has some strong vibes of late 2000s game music like ones from Machinarium, as well as Flash Game era internet music. Anomalous Based Materials when Anomalous Cringe Materials walks in.
Highway 17 is the best, it gives me a feeling of being lost, you can see a little around you but everywhere else is just fog, and it matches the bleak sky of the chapter
When I first saw that there is a theme for Air Exchange I thought it would be a really deep, dull, and dark song emphasizing on how large the Air Exchange plant is, and how significant and dreadful its impact on the Earth is. Then when I heard sudden positive and dramatic vibes I realised that it fits even better considering that the fall of Air Exchange would start the long-awaited uprising in the City 17, and the music style would reflect the significance of your efforts. Rad doctor, you did an amazing job.
it also kinda gives a maze like feeling with the air exchange plant being so vast and expansive adding to the feeling of overcoming a huge obstacle when you destroy it.
These are great tunes, give of a real Deus Ex 1/System Shock type vibe, I love it. Air Exchange, Beta Aesthetics, RP Downtown, and Prospero are my personal favourites.
the air exhange gives me such a strange feeling. have you ever been far away from home at night in a city area when theres like no one outside and you dont realy know were you are, thats the feeling the air exchange gives me.
this has such special vibes... i know music means different things to different people- right now to me it feels like freedom and hope with a little bit of mystery-
Where I would put each song in a game (except for the places they’re named after ofc) 0:28 exploring a familiar area that was destroyed/infected 2:23 An equivalent of taking down the Breencast in HL2. Something that should feel triumphant but is somehow incomplete.... 6:29 sneaking through vents as there’s a battle happening above/under you 8:32 Opposing Force main menu song 10:45 You just alerted everyone at a Xen factory 13:14 driving your buggy through some sort of alien environment 15:27 Dr Breen comes up with a genius idea of blasting combine pop music everyone to deter resistance 17:17 exploring a surrealist alien structure 22:05 Don’t know if this makes any sense but discovering that a scary/evil character has a very sad backstory???
Last one makes sense, the idea of finding out that a character who we see as a total ruthless monster has a horrible past and has a reason for acting the way they do rather than simply wanting to hurt people
Honestly Haz you've really outdone yourself, your music is genuinely so good and would not be out of place in any early 2000s shooter, or the original Command and Conquer.
I had some damaged speakers that lacked some audio channels, and it made Beta Aesthetics lack the percussion it has, which in my opinion made the track way better. Like it feels better when it's this spacey, brooding violin track, without percussion.
This is my favorite album and my favorite albums of ABM in order are: 1. Vol 3 2. Vol 2 3. Vol 1 4. Vol 5 5. Vol 4 Extra notes: 1. Vol 2 and Vol 1 were almost a tie, but Vol 1 barely lost because it has only four songs. 2. Vol 4 is last only because it is too "calm" for me and I get bored especially since they are long. 3. Vol 5 is 4th because the songs are a little long and ! get bored. 4. Vol 3 is 1st because I just love all the songs and not one of them is too long. 5. I don't dislike Vol 4 and 5, I just have to place them last because I mean, its just how these kind of lists are, something has to be last.
Not for that specific track. I had come up with the "mood" by thinking of how menacing the Air Ex facility would be, both in size and nature, and how Gordon and the Conscripts would go against all odds to shut it down. In the end, the track in this album was the result that suited that mood.
The melody of it was actually inspired by one of the tracks from Steins;Gate. Well, more like "stolen" I guess. But I really liked it so I decided to use it in this track. The OG track is the last track in this collection: th-cam.com/video/huaWJBchaMA/w-d-xo.html
"Prospero" starting at 17:38 reminds me so much of the game Metroid Prime 2: Echoes. There were a few tracks in that game that had similar synth sounds, but I've never heard anything like it elsewhere. Was Metroid Prime an inspiration in any way?
I have a...strange feelings after RP Downtown track. Idk, like i had a memories what's never was. Or they was but...lost. Forever. RP with friends on Half-Life 2 RP, playing random games like TF2 or something, playing in the Fallout DnD and all this gone. Many people just left, real life or they just don't talking to me because i was just a "random guy from internet" but everytime promising like "best friends forever", what a joke. You know, 3650 from Entropy Zero was right. People. Talk. Everything. *And people suck btw. Maybe Universal Union/Combines was right. We are just a meat with skin, who thinking like "I am a best guy/girl in this world and others just a plastic without soul and can do what i want!". For many dudes on this planet we are just a toys for fun. Not everyone, but many. Some people sometimes want too much. Anyway, good tracks🌝👍

I absolutely LOVE Ickypop. as soon as I heard it in the weird beta maps vid I was humming it all day long. finally found it.
Highway 17 is the best, it gives me a feeling of being lost, you can see a little around you but everywhere else is just fog, and it matches the bleak sky of the chapter
JUST GOT THE MEGA BUILD!

you're nice in music, keep making tracks!
BANGER ALERT!!!!!!!
These are great tunes, give of a real Deus Ex 1/System Shock type vibe, I love it. Air Exchange, Beta Aesthetics, RP Downtown, and Prospero are my personal favourites.

That's the vibe I went with for both ABM 3 and 4. This whole album is my personal favorite, my #1 work.

Wooooooooooooooooo ya baby!!!!!! THATS WHAT I BEEN WAITING FOR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Now today IS a vary good day. Thank you.
RP Downtown is really incredible idk, it hits really mournful and nostalgic neurons hard
Based
22:05 yess I finally found the track you used on your latest video, very comfy!
used this vid to test speakers, now your music sounds even better than the first time i heard it, 20/10 song 10/10 speakers
"Cold Corridors of Black Mesa"
There's something about this song that reminds of Bungie's Marathon 1 soundtrack.
Must be the synth chorus.
this is too based for my ears, great work !
The intro already got me after 2 seconds
I LOVE COMBAT 3, seriously i never get tired of it
I was kinda confused when I would watch Rad Haz video and not know what song was playing, turned out these are those songs and they sounds VERY good!
epic music to listen to whilst gaming! Thanks for the music please keep it up its really good!
My favourite is the Highway 17, like I hear it everywhere 😀
Yes it is the best
I had some damaged speakers that lacked some audio channels, and it made Beta Aesthetics lack the percussion it has, which in my opinion made the track way better. Like it feels better when it's this spacey, brooding violin track, without percussion.
YESS, MORE BANGERS!!!
Best almbum yet, you're very good with melodies and leitmotifs, I inspire to compose like you.
Beta aesthetics is another masterpiece, just setup a band camp account already :v
love highway 17 man, just wow.

I Love the RP Downtown Video and the song used in it, nice job dude.
People should use you soundtrack in Beta mods like RTB:R and Dark Interval!
these are so good for studying wtf
how do we know this isnt a joke because it was posted on April 1st
delay time 1/4. and 1/8. is a musician's best friend.
Air exchange sounds very familiar, was there a particular inspiration for that one?
Not for that specific track. I had come up with the "mood" by thinking of how menacing the Air Ex facility would be, both in size and nature, and how Gordon and the Conscripts would go against all odds to shut it down. In the end, the track in this album was the result that suited that mood.
Awesome music.
hecc yeah
Genuin bangers, you're real good at making music rad. 🎶 ☝️☝️🙏
Very nostalgic
Air Exchange 🔥🔥🔥

Can we get an extended version of each
I love this!
I love your music.
Beta Aesthetics reminds me of a track from Steins;Gate, but I'm not sure which one
The melody of it was actually inspired by one of the tracks from Steins;Gate. Well, more like "stolen" I guess. But I really liked it so I decided to use it in this track.

Nice tunes. Based AF.
where did you get the cover image, its looks really really chilling
also, i love the music it fits perfectly
The image is a screenshot of Dark Interval Old Build Mod :)
just here to listen to highway 17 again
The Half-Life 2 Beta is very dark and gritty
I get Unreal Gold/Unreal Tournament and Deus Ex vibes, two of my favorite game soundtracks of all time.
'Beta Aesthetics' is the main theme from steins;gate 0 lel (sounds similar to it, I mean)
"Prospero" starting at 17:38 reminds me so much of the game Metroid Prime 2: Echoes. There were a few tracks in that game that had similar synth sounds, but I've never heard anything like it elsewhere. Was Metroid Prime an inspiration in any way?
Nah. All similarities with MP2 is purely coincidental.
its cool very cool very very cool

Some people sometimes want too much.
Anyway, good tracks🌝👍
Yo, can we use this in any way as long as it is fair use? (no making money off of it, no claiming to be the owner etc.)
Sure, you can use it freely, even if you want to monetize it. I don't mind.
