    It's almost like the best choice would be a combination of the two photos. The bottom half of the one on the right. The top half of the left. If pressed though I'd have to choose the one on the left. 🥂

    Hahaha..... I'm a runner! LOL. I thought Mike was a little stressed about where I'd run off to. Heheheee..... Seriously though. It was a great workshop and I so thankful to have joined, learned from, and met everyone. Oh, and left.

    The left photo. Better leading lines. The lack of light on either side of the trees, combined with the line down the middle, really pull ones eye into the photo.

    Right one for me! The composition feels more balanced and calming to me. Nice video, looks like a great workshop!

    Mike, Like them both, but the one right slightly better. However the branches in the upper right on the left photo to me are a bit distracting. They just look too different from the other trees and bare branches that frame this image. I’ve photographed from the same spot and I know it is tough to get “unwanted” branches out of the way. I would definitely like to photograph this spot in the fall, but it probably “over run” with photographers.

      Carl Jarvinen thanks Carl, yeah we definitely got lucky and didn’t have anyone else there. Fall gets pretty crazy in Sedona haha. It changes every year at this spot too. The trees are becoming really overgrown. Thanks for watching!

    I’d pick right because of the better light. Frankly I think both suffer from the main subject being too small in the frame. I think this shows up in the Ken Burns zoomed in pan - the cropped shot of the rock with the light on it is really nice.

    Tough decision Mike. Both images are great, but, to me the left image. Because there is separation between the trees, and cathedral rock. On the right image, although the light gave great color to the trees, they become one with cathedral rock. So, the image to the left has more depth, and to me a bit of blue is always nice to have.

    Great Video as always. Sadona is on my bucket list. Cathedral Rock - great location. Question, on time lapse it looked like the camera zoomed into Cathedral Rock. Does that take special equipment. BTW, from one of you previous videos on lightning, I want to make my way to Tucson during the monsoon season to see if I can capture some lightning.

    • @PereaPhotography
      @PereaPhotography  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      nrlondon7959 you’d love it here during monsoon season. It can get crazy. We are doing a Grand Canyon North Rim monsoon workshop this year too. As far as the time lapse, we shoot in 4K, then put it on a 1080p timeline and zoom in during the clip. It was just shot on a tripod 👊🏼

      @@PereaPhotography Thank you. That workshop sounds great. However, most workshops are pretty expensive and out of my price range. I want to take a trip to the north rim. I think the place is called Tuelweep or something like that. That's on my bucket list. Each time I watch your videos I add to my bucket list. LOL

    Re the two Cathedral Rock images: I much prefer the first (left). The shaded trees nicely frame the Rock and the rivulet leads the eye right to it. The other image seems a bit busy for my taste.
    I was in Sedona in 2018 but didn't have a chance to look for that particular spot. I hope to return, maybe next year. Is that part of Oak Creek reached from Red Rock State Park? Thanks.

    The picture on the right, that dramatic sky does it for me. I also like that Black & White shot I think I'll have to got back over some of my edits from that location. Mike and Chris had a great time and when looking back we really did have great conditions for a photography work shop, that was my first one, are they not all like that! hahaha Did anyone find Jay?

    Oh wow... that spot brought back a lot of memories. 23 years ago one of my sons, who was 4 at the time, slipped and fell in the creek. I was able to grab him without incident. I was shooting a Nikon 4004 at the time of cathedral rock.
    I like one on the left for the stronger leading line.
    Cool video. Keep up the great work! 🤠

    I still have so much to explore in Sedona (I live in Phoenix). Last time I went there I took some random road that said it led to a recreation area and as soon as I rounded a corner I could see Cathedral Rock off in the distance and also there had just been a storm so the lighting, the sky, the clouds were amazing! I got so many great shots that day!

    Really hard to pick between the two sunset images. I think I'm leaning a little toward the one on the left because I like the light on cathedral rock a little bit better. They are both beautiful.

  • @josephcole3187
    @josephcole3187 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    its one of those times where i want to merge the 2 the one on the left has a better visual presence with cathedral rock because the trees are in shadow, the one on the right i like the foreground and sky better.

  • @gervaischouinard9809
    @gervaischouinard9809 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Not an easy choice. Even if I agree on people choosing le left one because of leading lines, I prefer the one on right. Light on trees changes the balance: left one shows cathedral rock vs landscape remaining, right one shows top in beautiful light vs bottom already in dark. Beautiful place and awesome photos!

    Looks like Red Rock Crossing-when I lived in Sedona (in1970's) red rock loop road was a dirt road most of the way. I'm sad about the development there but I have my memories of a town with no traffic lights and no chain stores except for the Daily Queen out on the flats.

    • @PereaPhotography
      @PereaPhotography  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Kathy Stoner it is still a dirt road for the last 2 miles or so. And yes I agree the traffic is pretty bad, especially on weekends and I’ve seen it change a lot over the past 20 years.

    Left, has less light on the tree line and pulls your eyes towards the rocks where the light is focused , and I like the look of the water a bit more also . but both are awesome no matter which catches the eye more ! Great show again, miss the wonderful Chris but you managed ok without her . Best wishes as always !!
