- Allegri's Miserere is one of the most famous and most beautiful pieces of sacred music ever composed. It is a song of great sorrow and an appeal to God's mercy: poignant at any season of Life, but especially during Lent.
Drawing from King David's lament in Psalm 50, it is a composition of great sorrow and an appeal to God's mercy: poignant at any season of Life, but especially during Lent. It explores the beauty and emotion of penance and the mystery of conversion. In this video, Fr. Edmund walks us through Allegri's technical mastery in the music, its important liturgical context, and its enduring relevance for our lives and the life of the whole Church.

If you read the introduction in the Daily Roman Missal, it states that the veil is actually lifted during each and every Holy Mass. So, when this is chanted during the Eucharistic Feast, the veil is indeed lifted between Heaven and Earth. It is not just an expression in those instances. But, yes this is most certainly Divinely inspired.

Can't help noticing your Family Guy icon there. I'm surprised a Catholic would show off their admiration for that show considering it mocks Christians. I did a little research in case I didn't recall it correctly and the show is even worse toward religious people than I thought.
