this is just a great and powerful rule set. I came from a Christian family and i turned my back for this because no where in the bible does it say honor the goddess much less respect our women. Then there is the balance with nature and you dont see that in the bible anywhere either. As soon as i was a teen i left that and found KMT.

Ma'at came to me in 2 different ways when I decided to open up and let my Spirit Guides present themselves. I think she has been with me for a few years now (maybe always?) but I wasn't ready to be aware of her energy. I know that to truly connect with her, I need to study her laws. I've been aware of the 42 laws Maat aka the universe's rules for a while now. I recently started saying them out loud 2 times a day or when I'm in a funk. Powerful affirmations there and it does help us women. The God/ Goddess I'm thinking is more related to our god power within. This one always got me growing up. But the way you explained it is what I believe as well.

I recently began opening up to Maat as a result of reading Sacred Woman. My transition in such a short time has been incredible. I actually feel lighter. I had to find a version of the laws which didn't use language like...I will not. I love the version I have been reciting. However the pontifications you spoke are so in alignment with who I see myself as. If I send you my email would you send me a copy or if it's something you monetize how do I get a copy. Thank you! You can find the laws I used online, or in any book on the laws of Maat. The key is to formulate the ideals, the principle or the commitment in the way you can best receive them. I also have a series on Maat that may be of help in your journey.

When we say this, are we praying, or talking to our own spirit? Whi is Maat? Sorry to ask such basic questions, but for the American black man, christianity leaves so many more questions, as I have read 'Making the Negro a Christian', and have found many instances where the identity of 'black' pharoes was covered up by the words angel of death, ex: hezekia finding 185000 Assyrians killed by 5th pharoe of 25th dynasty- Taharqa, but instead of saying he killed the assyrians to help Jerusalem, authors of bible say angel of death smote them in the night, and to hezekiah surprise finding the battle won for him by the hand of God. Many instances proove my spirit longs for the truth. When I read in our king james version; 'slave obey your master's', ' turn the other cheek', or' lean not on your own understanding', where Maat teaches 'know thyself' first. I want to know. I just want something more edifying, instead of something that perpetuates ideals if subjugation. Thank you for your presentation.

One of the ideas is "I follow my inner guidance". What if my inner guidance is calling me to steal from my neighbor because I need food. Will that be OK?
The inner guidance would not ask you to steal from your neighbor. It may tell you ways to work so you can grow the food you need, earn it, or even ask others for help. If you hear things that are negative and can lead you to harm or hurt others, it is not your inner voice, nor the calling from Maat. Always as for discernment when information is being brought to you: is this true? Is this useful? is this the best way etc. The simple fact that you ask this question shows that you know such advice is bad advice.
I wish it was written in a way that make its positive. So that the thought that vibrates and creates is a positive one.

Clearly there's so much similarity, undoubtedly, between Maat's principles and the Christian Bible. To me it sounds that this was edited at The Council of Nicea by the Roman Emperor Constantine I in AD 325.

I have a question about one of the affirmations. I will not pollute myself. This one seems difficult because, in order to truly carry this affirmation out, you must give up many difficult habits and addictions. Smoking, drinking, eating food that is not good for the body, miss management of stress, etc... I want to say this affirmation but I am not completely free of all or even some of these vices. How can I say it ( as a hopeful like a goal I am wishing to work towards) without it sounding like a falsehood/ lip service because of my actions later on in the day?

Start by diminishing one of them, doing it progressively may be better in the long run rather than trying to do it all at once and feeling overwhelmed. Don't wish, decide and just do. Much Love sis

maby i can help you understand the balance .... the Maat list of negative and positive ( i will do are will not do ) was are ancestors model they used to lay the foundation to there personal ( values ). each maat saying is not from a male or female view , when you apply one of the laws of MAAT to you personally as a women are man is when it takes on a male are female way of seeing things . the balance comes in because they can apply to both man and women . example: ( I have not committed adultery or I have not told lies.) think of maat as = personal values you apply to your self to give you balance in your life . what are values ? ...... +Goddess God Hi beloved, If you feel they are lowering your vibrations then do as you choose. But there is a reason why we use each form. This is not an affirmation you simply repeat, it is a commitment you make. So if you feel you can't commit, then work on the one you are having issues with. I started a play list on each principle that you can review. Making these commitment to stop doing something is not the same as committing to do something. Each one has it's importance.
