  • What's up railfans I went to Cumberland Maryland just to watch trains! first we start off on csx mountain sub as I came in to the city I saw a double empty coal train. so I set up for it in a town called Bowling green, MD. then I head back to Cumberland to check out Amtrak 30. In my next location I moved over to ridgely, West Virginia to check out western Maryland sonic railroad I saw the 501 and 1309. Then I went to the crossing on mount savage rd to check out a couple trains on the key stone sub. finally I made my way over to keyer , west Virginia. to check out some coal trains. I found one building a double coal train. then I chased it to Dawson, Maryland.
    Cumberland
Cumberland is a city in Maryland. A one-room cabin in Riverside Park was once George Washington’s headquarters. The Allegany Museum covers regional history. Western Maryland Scenic Railroad trains depart from downtown for views of the Allegheny Mountains. In the station, a visitor center has exhibits on the adjacent Chesapeake & Ohio Canal and tow path. The Great Allegheny Passage trail runs northwest from the city.
    Keyser
Keyser is a city in and the county seat of Mineral County, West Virginia. It is part of the Cumberland, MD-WV Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 4,853 at the 2020 census.
    lines
    csx keystone sub
The Keystone Subdivision is a railroad line owned and operated by CSX Transportation in the U.S. states of Maryland and Pennsylvania. The line runs from Cumberland, Maryland, west to McKeesport, Pennsylvania, (near Pittsburgh) along a former Baltimore and Ohio Railroad (B&O) line. The line includes the well-known Sand Patch Grade over the Allegheny Mountains.
    csx mountain sub
The Mountain Subdivision is a railroad line owned and operated by CSX Transportation in the U.S. states of Maryland and West Virginia. The line runs from Cumberland, Maryland, west to Grafton, West Virginia, along the original Baltimore and Ohio Railroad (B&O) main line. It was known as the West End Subdivision until the B&O's absorption into the Chessie System, and included the B&O's original crossing of the Allegheny Mountains. Through CSX traffic to the west from Cumberland now uses the Keystone Subdivision over Sand Patch Grade.
    Thanks for watching

Nice vid bro! Just figured I’d give you a little history, about 10 miles northwest of Cumberland is a town called Mount Savage. This is where the very first iron rail was ever made in the United States was ever made back in 1844. The old furnace is still in town, it has fallen in and began to decay over the years.

Awesome video! I’m hoping to head up to Cumberland on Monday to go to foley overlook! If you go to the Cumberland area next time I recommend going to Fairhope and around there, it’s really cool to see the trains climb the sand patch!

There's a FEDEX warehouse in south Cumberland on Mexico Farm road and they put a new traffic light for those truck drivers to turn in at.
