Just did this with my dads 1996 cabrio. Thanks so much for posting the video. Saved me a trip to the dealership and $$$. Although, the part is now around $180-200.
Very helpful video. It is increasingly important to learn basic repairs for these classics because repair shops now rarely have the internal skill. Question: Instead of ordering the replacement frame for $250+, do you think you could have repaired the bushings on the original frame with silicon gel?
Without undoing anything (and saving more £££s / $$$s), as a temporary fix (mine's been there three years!), you can tuck a folded piece of card in the back of the airbag which effectively does the job of the worn parts you're replacing.
what is the partnumber and price of the new metal part in the steering wheel to be replaced to have the horn problem fixed. i have the same issue as shown in the video?

Used #31 O-Rings in the 4 bushing areas and all good.......17MM for the 4 bolts on the frame and Torx #30 tool for airbag screws.....$2 fix....

Always a good idea to disconnect the battery before taking out the airbag.
