It's weird how subdued everything was back then. The acting, writing, animation, even the characterization was more grounded. It's kinda refreshing, in a sense.
Seasons 1 and 2 are on a whole other level.
They were much better in my opinion, they sound more natural too and not just characters saying jokes to the audience. The humor then came more from the absurdity of the situations and less referential and condescending.

I kinda forgot how legitimately stupid Morty was. He's really come a long way. I don't know if he's genuinely gotten smarter, but he says things with more confidence.
He definitely evolved a lot, not only became more confident, he became so mature too

You can really notice how much of a jerk Morty becomes after the potion episode especially in the evil morty episode.
Hard not to be when your only mentor is a sociopathic scientist with a god complex and technology to legitimize it.

This makes me miss the old animation style. The animation wasn’t as good, but the characters had more diverse facial expressions.

I swear nothing beats classic Rick and Morty season 1 and 2. There’s some good episodes later, but nothing really comes close to the cleverness and story of the first 2 seasons before the writers tried too hard to be meta
Yea it was way more lighthearted in these seasons, i still enjoy the more emotional ambitious episodes they do now but i definitely get what you mean

I miss this version of the series so bad. It was so simple, so tame, and so perfect in every sense of the word. Now I can’t even tell if the series I’m watching will ever reach the stark peak brilliance that Seasons 1-Early Season 3 had.

The thing about the pluto dilemma is that pluto still orbits the sun so it should be included in a model of the solar system even if it isn’t technically a planet. I know that would cause a lot of complications, however, so i still think morty is right
Yeah but there’s plenty of other objects that also orbit the sun that are the same size or larger than pluto and also spherical. If pluto is a planet, then there would have to be dozens of more planets to consider

Season 1 & 2 of RnM was truly something special. The writing and character development was a lot more subdued and sensible. Now it's like the show has become a shallow parody of itself

After a few seasons you got to switch it up or it gets boring, idk that anything they would’ve done would have been satisfying
Even if the art style nowadays is more detailed, the animation was far more smooth and expressive in early Season 1.

I've always loved the fact that morty has a "Gigantor" toy robot above the headboard in his room. I am sure it's Roiland & Harmon's way of paying homage to one of the original anime TV shows to air in the US. It's little details like this which make me love this show so much!

He gave our Morty a Grandpa he never would've had, as Rick Prime doesn't care.
I think Rick and morty is one of the only shows that has gotten better over time (except season 4). Season 6 might be my favorite so far
