Guys, this is sick as hell! It was supposed to look like two torsoless bodies combined, one male, one female. The part near the end when the dancer was walking on their hands near the wall mimicked a natural walking movement to the point where it looked like a headless body.
personally i dont think it is funny, kinda a horror feeling instead. but yes i agree with majojo123, if that's what the audiences receive from the performance, who has the right to say it is wrong for them to laugh? art is always a personal thing, that is why i am still angry that my art teacher failed me in high school when i thought my painting was quite ok!!!
Mesmerizing! I see a male and female couple. They've "joined" together. Working side by side at first. As time passes "she" ends up dominating the male or "wearing the pants" so to speak.
surely the audience should react however they feel they should? If its funny they can both laugh and take something away from the piece. Its not immature to laugh when you find something amusing.
My 4 year old nephew does this. It's cute when he does it. When a grown man does it, it's different.
It's art in my eyes because it removes the humanity from the man and makes him into a moving piece of art.

I wish they'd point the camera at the thing that everyone was laughing at.
I just saw this performance at the MoMA lastnight, amazing!
