1975, Three Steps To Heaven, I met my wife and danced to this song, we were both 16, and now in 2024 we're still together and happy. Thank you Dave for making our teenage years so memorable.❤
They was a good band, my favourite person out the band was the blond haired man who normally stood at the end he did some great ad-libbing but they where all good.
Always loved this band....took me ages to save up for my first Drape....from my paper round money... brought it in Birmingham bull ring...happy days...and was in Norfolk recently and yep the band are still going in one form or another...go Romeo...thank you all past and present members.
They were the first band that I ever saw live when I was 10 back in 1977, seen them many times since, still touring, still an amazing night out, not expensive, worth every penny, you will dance, I was at a biker rally and a mate got them to play showwadywaddy as a joke because of my love of them, I had to dance just because, and within seconds half the field was dancing, when the song ended everyone sat back down, the only tune that anyone danced to all night, true story, you want people to dance play them,
I was 9 in 77 and my first single ever was When, first album Greatest Hits, the blue sleeve. Being Dutch I never saw them live. But I Dj-ed on open mike nights for a long time and you are right. They still will dance to Showaddywaddy!
The Original 8 Showaddywaddy band members had perfect harmonies and dance moves together, they will never be beaten Dave, Al, Rod, Malc, Romeo, Russ, Buddy, & Trevor were definately the best!! i will always watch the videos as long as you tube show them XXX THANKS FOR SHARING THEM DAVE XXX
Showaddywaddy have always been very underrated.... very talented performers. This video is a great nostalgia blast.. although I get that regularly as they are in my vast 60's/70's/80's MP3 collection on my phone and they often randomly pop up... great driving sounds ... 😎
These guys in the 70s were just the Best, Best years of my sad life, thanks for the Memories 👏🏻👏🏻🩵🩵 got to say these Guys had a lot of fun with their Music like Dr Hook did, my 2 fav Groups of all Time ❤ Good to see Dave Bartram still got it
I share your sadness for your life , My only escape was and is Music and Nature and my dear dogs . Blessed to have them . But growing up was a living hell. Age 60 I live with CPTSD kindly given to me by family and school . I wish you well . Glad you had good music around you . Best wishes 🙏🏻🎶❤️✨
Showaddywaddy you were fantastic. Aaah Dave my secret crush. You made my teenage years listening and watching you all on tv. As I expect you did for many more fans. Great memories Dave. Still got your Lp’s to this day. Them were the days hey. ❤️
well, I found that exhilarating I could not believe I knew every one of them didn't know your age Dave, but God willing I will be 70 next, i was lucky I was around when MUSIC was MUSIC thank you very much for sharing these good old days God bless you.
I loved Showaddywaddy all they're songs would get everybody upto dance. They were awesome live and even got the girls to dance with them. I saw them several times in and around Swansea South Wales. The last time I saw them was in Chicago Rock and they were still as brilliant as ever, and although they were getting older they were still entertaining and dancing with the ladies. They were still dressed in their Teddy Boy outfits. I've got several CD'S of Showaddywaddy and I drive the neighbours nuts. They have to be played really loud, and you'll find me singing and dancing around with the cleaner. My poor little dog must think she's lost the plot again ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
OMG what an absolutely fantastic walk down memory lane I was once a true Fan of showaddywaddy and still to this day love the tunes I even owned a red drape that I never used due to it being too big it was hung in my bedroom as a mascot to the band
Ohhh my goodness!!! Approximately 42 years ago, I took my 8 year old son to the Empire Theatre in Liverpool to see Showaddywaddy it was one of the best concerts I've been to (and I've seen Whitney Houston, Michael Jackson and the Bee Gees, amongst others) I saw Showaddywaddy once more at Portchester Castle, around 20 year's ago, it was as much fun then! Thanks for the memories Dave. ♥️
I grew up with your music. I'm 60 years now and I want to hear this forgotten 1975 rock n roll . Mr bertrim . Please train young guys to play your music. I know that they are covers but you guys did better than than the original ❤🇮🇪❤
Great seeing Dave on here, he and the band brought so much joy, from first seeing them on New Faces, to Buying their records, then getting to see them live.
Music saved me from my childhood, 1978, 12 years old, I Wonder Why, Denis, Rivers of Babylon, Ca Plan Pour Moi, Take a Chance on Me, Loves Unkind, Baker Street, Wuthering Heights, Follow You Follow Me, If I Can’t Have You, Kiss You All Over, Run For Home, Hong Kong Garden. It was great to be a kid in the 70’s ! And Dave is right, I Wonder Why is hands down the best song of Showaddywaddy, and one of the best songs of 1978.
Thanks for the memories Dave from a life long fan, I still need to listen to you guys every day, you helped get me through not a great childhood thank always Mike
Showaddywaddy such a great band and had some cracking songs, I was fortunate enough to see them in Wednesbury Town Hall 2015 had such a great night. Shame they don’t make songs like this anymore. My uncle was a big fan of Showaddywaddy and whenever I went to my nan’s he’d always being be playing their hits on his old record player. Thanks for the memories
This was the first band I was really into at around 11 years old. My mother was a big fan too. They were playing in London & asked my mum if we could go. She said I have to ask your Dad & he said no! To this day I haven't forgiven my dad for that & I'm not Joking! In my teens I became a Teddy Boy then a Rockabilly. And yes I went to School wearing a drape, creepers & bootlace tie. 57 years old now. Great times.
Saw them when I was 12 47 years ago in Newcastle. My English teacher organised a school trip. They we’re absolutely brilliant. Their music stands up today.❤️
I have so many little musical tics and triggers that send me off into a little tune in my head nad TODAY I worked out it is almost ALL Showaddywaddy (I am 49 years old). My Gran bought me a Showaddywaddy LP when I was a kid and I listened to it obsessively. So all the music is in my SOUL. It's amazing how long that has lasted in my brain!
I am from an Irish background...My girlfriend at the time was also irish and probably still is lol..I bought Sweet Little Rock and roller the day it was released..I played it to her that night hailing it to be a genius record..I did not know she was a Joe Dolan fan...she hated your version...That was the start of our break up..She was my first love..I was 16....so thank you Showaddywaddy for breaking my young heart lol
Under the moon of love, first single I ever bought (well told my mum i wanted it for Xmas and I got it ) after dancing to it at my junior school Xmas party 1976 ..I was 8 ...Happy Times....loved tiger feet by mud too.....really got into music as most people did secondary school 1980 to 1985....Great bands ,live aid etc......
I loved showaddywaddy especially three steps to heaven, dave brilliant voice and the timing of all the boys (as Craig Revel Horwood would say) A M A Z I N G ❤❤❤
It was a great band my favourite one in the band was the one who war the dark glasses in the first song on this video but they was all equally good I loved how the lads used to dance in the background while Dave was singing they was all fantastic, very uplifting I wish they could come back and cheer us all up, it a shame bands like these come to an end but thanks Dave for showing us this video it brings back great memories 😊😊❤❤
The wonderful carefree day's of the seventies... Great night's with Showaddywaddy at the Fiesta cabaret club in Sheffield, and memorable after party at the Grosvenor House Hotel...Good memories
I saw Showaddywaddy a few times in Swansea and Neath. They were brilliant, even dancing with the girls dancing near the front of the stage. I got several of their CD's. Dave was handsome and had a fantastic voice. They were colourful in they're teddy-boys suits, and always had the audiences up on the dance floor. Listening to Dave talking about the band and showing these memorable songs. It's brilliant and I love it ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Under the moon of love was my favourite song! I would have been about 6 years old when it was in the the charts, I used to play it on my recorder 😁 Showaddywaddy were my favourite band back then and I loved the whole rock n roll revival of the 70s, such fun and didn't take itself too seriously, we also had Darts, Matchbox, Racey etc. Great memories of watching them all on top of the pops. ❤ 😊
With the song "I Wonder Why" I was torn because I was living in Western Australia when "Ol 55" released this single and then we returned to the UK and Showaddywaddy released the same single. Lets just say I liked both versions which is testamount to a bloody good original song. I never saw Ol 55 play live but I did you guys as I live in Peterborough UK. You're top Showmen and know how to get the audience Jiving. Hey Rock n Roll Showaddywaddy.

Fantastic voice and harmony's, loved the band darts as well
They brought joy to the stage. Better than some of those moody, confused new wave acts.
And wish they were in the charts today when life made sense 👍🇬🇧
