  • Moldy hay! It happens! Even the best stored round bakes can get a little mold on the bottom! You don’t want to feed it to your horses, but is there anything you can do with it? Come find out!

Wear a mask when you handle moldy hay, especially if it is dusty. Breathing in the mold spores can cause Farmer's Lung.

Will these risk plants to spread mold or mildew to the green plants, how did it work out ?

How did tour garden do using the moldy hay? I'm facing this low and was leery as to if it would contaminate the berry plants soil.

The hay bales I have been preparing to use AS the garden have started to mold because we have had rain for two weeks 😕. Will I still be able to use them? I’ve put a lot of time and money into preparing these bales. 🥺 I hate to discard them at this point. 😩

Update: The bales have produced a TONS of yellow squash! As soon as the sun came out...the mold dried up and they have worked great!

I bought a bale of straw to use as mulch for my small garden. Didn't notice it had seed heads. Was clean when I bought it but now that water has contacted it I see black spots on it like mold. It's okay to keep this in the garden?

Lastly if you don't mind.. I've asked this to many and never got an answer. How do you keep smaller creatures away from eating your crops. Between that and aphids it's hard but I just heard about food grade DE for insects and bugs.

I was wondering what you call the metal posts in your yard that're holding up the wire fencing because I'd like to get some. Also how did you attach the wire fencing to the rods. I like the wire fencing (need to know what it's called too) but I'd like the fence holes to be a bit smaller.. thanks.
