      Lived in Ga, S. Carolina and Texas. Now, Maryland. Ft. Meade's weather is not like DC's because urban areas tend to be warmer; asphalt, more traffic, etc. We have a saying in Texas: "If you don't like the weather, wait 5 minutes...it'll change. @@Ax1oM11oo

    A couple branches of my ancestors came to Maryland on the Ark and the Dove in 1634 and I have always lived in Maryland. (11th generation Marylander!) Yes, our weather is very changeable. We are also very different from area to area, county to county. I was raised in a suburban area near DC and for the last 35 years have lived in a rural area. I am a Redskin fan, I think our state flag is great, I consider myself living in the South (in fact when I visit New England my "southern accent" is poked fun at), and I say the "s" in Johns Hopkins. I like Old Bay, but did not grow up eating crabs. We used it with shrimp. Unless you're descended from Maryland Native Americans, you can't get much more Maryland than me!

    The Bay bridge is NOT the only bottle neck. There's Easton 35 MPH 10-12 stop and go lights. then go 12 miles Bottle neck in Cambridge 35 mph 6 lights. then Salisbury if you stay on RT 50 35mph and a bunch of lights, or the by-pass trying to go from the by-pas to get onto RT 50 again a 270 deg turn at 25-30 mph that's always fun. and then if your going t North OC the one lane in, one lane out RT 90 oh that back up is fun, and RT 50 into OC the oldest part of town with the Worst traffic pattern. So it's not just the bridge for sure LOL

    As a native Marylander myself, it was disappointing to not hear you speak of one of our state’s greatest assets - it’s cultural, ethnic, and racial diversity. This is a big selling point for many people, and a very large factor in why so many people choose to stay in Maryland or move back to Maryland after living in “less diverse” states/regions; which is also very good for raising children. In fact, MD is arguably a great model for how the US will “look like”, demographically, in the next 30-50 yrs.

    • @soul2soul399
      @soul2soul399 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@BetterwithPhoebe seems like a way for the county to seize property for unpaid taxes. I just looked up the tax credits available in PG county and there doesn’t seem to be one for lower income. How could residents of PG county get their county to enact a lower income property tax credit? Im from CA and in 1978 voters in California pushed for and voted to approve an amendment to the state constitution called prop 13. It rolled back most local real estate assessments to 1975 market value levels, limited the property tax rate to 1 percent plus the rate necessary to fund local voter-approved bonded indebtedness, and limited future property tax increases to a maximum of 2% per year. When you buy a house in CA and the next year it’s worth a whole lot more… your property assessment is still only allowed to be raised up to 2% of the price you paid for the home. Many states are now seeing the problem Californians saw in the late 70’s when everyone was moving to CA causing property values to go way up and therefore property tax rates to rise. Residents of high property tax areas need to get vocal and get measures on their state ballots to get limits on property taxes. Nobody should lose their home because the property tax went way up.

    I moved to Waldorf Maryland last year I hated it at first but I've kinda enjoyed living here even though I come from Utah and I'm still in the Rocky Mountain culture and seeing how Waldorf isn't really a good area especially the school I go to I still like knowing I can go to an NFL game and college games

    I'm not looking to buy in Maryland, but I am looking to rent in Cumberland MD. I grew up in Hurlock then moved to Glen Burnie in my teenage years, I was in and out in my 20s, I wanna go home, Cumberland is the closest place to where I am now and looking to relocate back to Maryland, I'm in WV it's a culture shock, I can't get used to it and I don't drive. Need better medical treatment for my PTSD. Wooded areas and driving forever just isn't for me sadly.

    You must have one of these for every city, because I can't imagine you're actually from MD, since there's not even a trace of an accent that could remotely be from here (or PA or VA either). Then there's the fact that you don't know the real name of Johns Hopkins, lol.

    Our state’s beer is not centralized with National Bohemian. Trust me in PA, $5 will get you an import of natty bo and a shot of Jamesen. Our state’s capital is Annapolis where Fordham was proudly brewed.
    Frederick has the fantastic Flying Dog, Baltimore has loose cannon, the eastern shore has St. Michaels brewing company.
    I can go on, but as an honest citizen our beer, art and food culture is worth a good chance. The wine creatives are trying but aren’t there yet.

    • @ghackney9549
      @ghackney9549 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The crime in Baltimore is out of control, the news only reports on the murders but there is way more crime that never gets reported. If you have to live in Baltimore try Fells point or Canton and buy a big dog and a gun.

      Yeah Locus Point is a nice area, just a little expensive. Fed Hill is also not bad and has some good places to eat.
      Unfortunately like most of the city, the neighborhoods surrounding it are terrible,
      just be smart and keep your guard up. The good news is once you go a little further out like Northern MD, western MD, or the eastern shore there are some really beautiful places to check out.
