This kind of reminds me more of the event freebie RX-78-2 than the EG one. Also, for the shield opening, it's probably better to just model/pose it as if the opening is closed. It's a viewing panel and most versions of the shield have detailing that it's supposed to have a hatch that opens/closes despite not being something physically built in for the size of it
I really like the concept of this kit. Obviously it isn't comparable to new kits like the RG 2.0, but it is a great novelty piece and a reminder of what gunpla kits used to look like. I'm looking forwards to getting one. Hopefully they make a Zaku II. And I think there was 1/100 kits in the first range, so that would also be nice.
I wish they include or make an extension joints for the c-clip hip joints so the leg poses wont be hindered, for crouching poses or even more splits. Imagine the Extension joints each parts are ideal for upgrading poses of old HG kits, man I wish Bandai made those just like separate spare weapon set kits etc.
I like that it's weird and (relatively) inexpensive. It's why I like Gunpla-Kun. But to me it falls short of buying. If it had a better amount of modern engineering while keeping the vintage look maybe I would have felt differently. The old First Grades took the idea of bare bones vintage kits and showcased how much Bandai's fine detail mold quality had advanced. PG molds at 1/144 scale. They were impressive 300Y kits with a clear message. I don't even know what they're trying to highlight with this Revival.
I have acoupke of the original ones I bought them as something I could airbrush as a beginner when I was first learning to airbrush. I never did end up doing anything with them.
They bring back Revive lineup?! Oh wait, that the *OLD* kit. Anyway while it seems this is nostalgia bait, the potential of doing project to improve or sounds better prospects
I'm so glad they made this kit Trying to turn the grandaddys design into something "cool", "realistic" and "modern" just doesn't work The RX78 looks the best when it embraces its original design and this kit gets the vibe perfectly while also being accessible to those who cannot be bothered to pick up a brush and some citadel paints
I think the best thing about the RX-78 design is how adaptable it has proven to be. I like the modern, cool, super detail takes on the design. But I also think kits like this are very charming.
The worst part of building this kit is that I now want Bandai to at least do a Zaku.
To be honest, it being color separated really is more inviting for new people/beginners than the original version of this kit
It also doesn't require glue unlike the og kit (I've watched video of people building it)
plot twist: in a Build series this Gunpla is too OP when used in a Gunpla Battle.
Love how this came out around the same time as the RG 2.0, what an insane juxtaposition in detail quality between these two in-scale model kits.

Great tips for this classic Gundam model, love the revival! 🚀👍
can’t wait to see some old school msv colours on this like a real type version or prototype colour, it would be so fun to paint this kit
You could make this the focus of a contest in the future 👀

Hope not, that would be so shit
@@Caterpillar well it's a good thing you don't make the decisions at bandai then because I'd say the same thing about that opinion
@@shezmu24 Good thing Bandai will never make a Zaku version because it is a shit idea
@@shezmu24 Always a shame that whiny mfs like that dude exist.
It'd definitely be awesome to see a Zaku II in this style.
This is PEAK RX-78.
Looks fun! A nice piece of gunpla history
Great video, Zack!

With its proportions, this could make for a decoy balloon for the RX-78-2 Gundam lol
Would've liked to see a comparison between this model, the EG, one of the many HG and the RG.
A little black on the mouth elevates the kit too
love it, kinda wish it had a tint of green though like the rgm though
Image if you can time travel back in time with this kit and how much it well sell in the past .
It's beautiful

I think modders will love this. If only it came with a goofy Amuro figure...
So cool
Id have gotten this if it werent so expensive in my country
😇👍🏼

🤔
He's just a guy.
I'm disappointed with it. Bandai just put out another old fashioned glob😂❤
