Dr. G, I am grateful for this podcast episode. Authentic, raw, and empathetic. Redemptive. I remember seeing him back when I was in college and he was playing with the Charlotte Hornets. What a genuine and good person. Thank you.

8 years and 2 weeks sober. Horrific ankle injury at 20, was sent to PM specialist at 22. I was willing to risk dying for a chance to recover.

Great video, and what he says is too true. I was an addict at a time when Oxy’s were a dime a dozen. I haven’t touched opiates in 20 years and I never will again. Withdrawal was the closest thing to hell I’ve ever experienced. You’re exhausted, you can’t sleep, you’re freezing, but sweating. In addition your skin crawls the entire time. Thankfully nowadays it’s not looked at as a blight on one’s self but rather people rejoice in one’s recovery which is amazing progress. To all of you fighting the good fight keep it up, there’s a better life ahead! ✌️❤️

Always took Rex in NBA-Live `98(?) as starting Shooting Guard on my fantasy team. Had 93/100 rate at 3-pointers if I‘m not mistaking. Cool to hear him sharing that personal side of him.
