041516 20 To be honest, it doesn’t work like that. Cover ups are very VERY limited ( and she also didn’t want anything big), plus she liked the design. She could’ve said no. Please stop judging the artist whose a PROFESSIONAL, her tattoo is gorgeous
@@ailynlopez5386 I've had many tatts done and yes that could have easily been covered up with trees like she asked for or any other image instead of a solid diamond where in 10 years the fine line flowers will fade like her butterfly and she will be left with just a solid shape. Yes the artist is professional but only in fine line work and not in coverups or other tattoo styles.
Mish_ elle I recently got one of mine covered up and it was relatively a very small tattoo, and all the references I gave the artist were denied even though I was sure that it was gonna cover it up. But at the end of the day, mine was in my wrist, so there was very little space to work with. But, Chloe said she didn’t want anything big plus she liked the end result. I mean I understand people have an opinion, regardless it’s negative or positive, on a matter. But at the end of the day, it’s her skin and she likes the design. People just LOVE judging.
@@ailynlopez5386 it's probably because your artist couldn't do that design so denied it but I'm sure if you went to another one that specialised in what you asked for they could have. I've had cover ups before and they didn't deny it, only recommended a different artist in the studio to do them instead. her one was very very easy to cover up and not with just a big black diamond and that artist even said she couldn't do coverups and her speciality was fine line work on blank skin. You cant go to someone that does japanese or neorealism an ask them to do realism or traditional and expect it to work out. In a few years those flowers will fade and she will be stuck with a big black shape. She could have just 1 laser session and go to someone that did do coverups....

Really unfair design. I agree with a lot of the people here. Someone with more experiences in cover up would have done what she asked. Also, it sounded like the artist was looking for a free canvas.

The old tattoo was so small and faded, that an experienced and talented tattoo artist could have really transformed her new tattoo in to something so breathtaking, intricate, and detailed - This current tattoo isn’t appealing to me at all. I hate that she has this on her body, because this really could have been transformed into something so magical.
Right? It seems like a pretty easy coverup or laser candidate. A black box like this should be a last resort when nothing else would work.

I'm just so confused as to WHY you hired this artist. She works in single needle line work and she literally says she doesn't have much interest in cover ups? I'm just confused
I'm sorry what? She didn't even consider doing any of her requests.. She wanted trees and mountains but got flowers instead.. Also, it REALLY bothers me that the smaller dark diamond's outlines are not straight.

blackwork is very beautiful for the person seeking it and as a style, but yeah this woman only seems to do so for coverups

justine I mean most artist aren’t gonna give you exactly what you requested since they’re very serious about their work they usually design their own tattoos instead of using someone else’s work

This is NOT ok. An artist should never change the tattoo concept day of, surprising the client in studio. No client would feel comfortable being put on the spot and having to say ‘no, this isn’t what I had in mind’ in front of the artist while they wait. This was beyond unprofessional and makes me so angry. And what a BS concept, it wouldn’t have been as awful if the artist just did a decent design ffs.

Completely agree! The artist even said she likes doing geometric shapes and florals in the video- but this is not what she likes, this is what the client wants to have!

Ida Marie Daljord she is not being negative, she is stating what happened, pretty constructively actually. Even if she was happy with it, that is not ok, if you go to a tattoo shop, they should do what you asked for and not change it, that is terrible.

why did the artist change it? And she changed it to NOTHING what she asked for. Not really understanding why she agreed to the design, i would have said no that not what i wanted.
She changed it cause it'd be near to impossible to cover up a tattoo with so much going on with a minimalist piece, especially with an artist who doesn't actually do cover ups. She could've tried harder to incorporate more elements of the original design, for sure, though.

@@taylorwalker7417 but as a professional artist, they should not tell you the day your getting the tattoo that this is what you are going to get. If she had another visit to discuss other ideas or sizes than that's fine. However there should have been a conversation about it and not " this is what is gonna look good in the end and give me publicity so here you go". The artist could have taken a little more time and made something better and more to her tastes. The artist literally just did what she wanted because she said she has liked geometrical shapes and flowers lately. Screams laziness to me. And the girl probably felt trapped because it was the day they were filming and she even said she was scared that the girl changed it. The artist is completely wrong for what she did.

This is one of the worst cover-ups iv'e seen.
A good cover-up is one that doesn't scream COVER-UP and being a solid black.
She is a good artist but this is a shame she doesn't know how to deal with slightly harder tattoos...
6:07 after it healed you can still see the pink fairy dust under the flower at the bottom left... The lines on the open diamond at the bottom is so shaky. So many more creative ways to cover it up and it's just blacked out. I'd cry my eyes out if I sat through hours of pain to end up with that.
Horrible design for a coverup. At the very beginning the tattoo artist says herself she’s not very experienced in coverups and would rather just have a blank canvas. She just covered the whole thing in black. I guess if she’s happy with it tho whatever.
KLWenz93 there are tons of other artists who specialize in cover ups.
It wasn't even a particularly challenging tattoo to cover up.
I feel like you could get bored of this tattoo in a short while too but what do I know honestly I can’t even choose a favourite colour or song because it depends on the mood I’m in that particular day so tattoos are not happening with me.

My mother had two small dolphins tattoos on her arm from when she was in high school and she had to get a big tattoo to cover it up. Tattoo cover up are hard to do for some artist. But it doesn’t matter unless the client doesn’t like it. But she loves it so that’s really all that matters.
Black out and solid black tattoos are a very popular thing in tattoos, I see many people getting them even if they arent covering up tattoos. People purposefully want big black out areas, it has a very nice graphic design feel to it

The flowers look ok but that black diamond looks bad. The tattoo artist should not have changed her design that much. Chloe asked for a tree mountain-scape and she gave her a black diamond and some flowers, thats like not ok. I would have been kinda pissed and I feel like Chloe is probably too nice to say anything. ALSO THAT IS NOT HOW YOU DO A COVER-UP. you don't put a black square over the old tattoo. I have never seen anyone do that before. The whole point is to hide the lines of your old tattoo in your new one. It should not be obvious that it's a coverup. it should look like a fresh tattoo. I have no idea why they went with an artist who wasn't experienced in cover-ups; which she even admitted in the video. bad choice.

The term "cultural appropriation" as used in academia is a neutral one. Using Chinese characters for a tattoo does fall under that definition. Not that it's a bad thing, I believe cultural appropriation is good as long as it isnt explotation of the sacred.

Blackout or solid black tattoos are very popular and well loved within the tattoo community. People go out of there way to get them even if they arent getting something covered up. Agreed I have been watching Ink master for a few days now so I was expecting this to be one of those really cool cover up on Ink master (or a similar idea not just a black box) but this is just... not what I was hoping for but as long as the client is happy then never mind.

Whoa!!!! Ok, yes it’s a pretty design if geometric is specifically your style! It’s bold and different for a lot of people, especially your first and only tattoo! I almost feel like you need more like it to tie it together so it makes sense.
But, she didn’t even ask for that! Not one part of that design is what she asked for. No trees, no mountains, nothing lol
I’ve had a coverup done before and if they would’ve shown me a big black box I would’ve left and found a different artist.

The flowers are absolutely beautiful but I’ve never seen a cover up that was literally a giant black square/triangle 🤭 she emphasized at the beginning that cover ups are not her thing. Probably should have picked someone who was comfortable/experienced with them.
