Lethality and armor pen are different. Leth shreds certain amount of armor, for example, if you have 10 leth you will reduce 10 armor. That's why it's never built vs tanks as they have 200+ armor so even at full build you will reduce like 50 of their armor. Armor pen shreds armor percentage, so if you have 35%, it will reduce that amount of the total armor the opponent have.
EDIT: Reversed the armor pen changes in my head. It's percent first then lethality. They made that change a few years ago to make flat armor pen scale to late game instead of falling off. Thought I was going crazy for a sec, but found an old Xypherous post about it. For clarity, the below is wrong, but keeping it here for comment history. Also important to note the order they apply. Lethality and then Armor Penetration. Makes it near impossible to get true 100% armor pen on a tank. Which is good. If anyone remembers, that used to be reverse, which made it possible to have "negative armor" when calculating damage.

We USED to have flat armor pen and lethality replaced it. It is also true that percent used to apply after flat, that was changed years and years ago though.
Lethality is double shit post durability update. 18 lethality isn't even 18 armor pen til 18, where as a grudge gives the same for enemies with 60 or more armor. It's a nice side stat to whatever main effect you're building the item for.

I just spent the morning digging up old forum articles to understand why and found an old forum post from Xypherous about wanting to make the change to help flat armor pen scale to late game. Could not find when they made that change. It was not mentioned in the lethality update, and the posts I found were much older. Anyway, updated the comment to reflect this.
I tested the armor pen items on yasuo in the practice tool, and while ulting he actually does deal the same damage to targets of up to around 200 or 250 armor as he did to targets with 0 armor
8:20 People really underestimate how much armor pen ldr gives. It's giving 14.4 armor pen against 48 armor. That's equivalent to 18 lethality at that point in the game (lvl 9). Wrap your heads around that. Ldr cuts through about the same amount as non mythic lethality items against squishies mid game and does better than lethality items against lvl 18 squishies since base armor scales into the 70s. Only thing holding ldr back is the low ad on it. The % armor pen is fine against everyone.
It's worth pointing out that %armor pen is now applied _after_ Lethality, instead of before it. The takeaway being that %armor pen _loses_ value if built along-side Lethality. It's still generally worth building both, but %armor pen is far more geared towards tank-shredding.
Try a 6 Active Items build on a tank like Rammus, Singed, Volibear, Maokai, or Sion. Predator Boots, Turbo Chemtank, Gargoyle Stoneplate, Randuin's Omen, Zhonya's Hourglass, and Redemption. Bring Ingenious Hunter too for CD on the item actives.
If you play Karma and u think it isn't working, and u think that Zwag will make it work I'll tell you for now - just max Q first and use R+W only when enemy is engaging on u, but u poke enemies down with the most powerfull poke skill in the game what is Karma's R+Q
a tip for your yasuo (main yasuo here) : Don't ult right when you hit your knock-up, if you have enough attack speed, when the enemy is knocked up e q and then immediately hit r, this way you can transfer the e q to the target witch does more damage. If you dont have any attack speed items, just simply auto the target before he hits the ground.... Like a lee sin ult.
I realize from a creator perspective, short games aren’t good, but frankly, watching you go 3-0 in the first 5 minutes is a good game. One little flaw with percentage armor pen. In league you can never get 100% armor pen because %armor pen and %armor reduction don't stack. The way lethality and armor pen work are this way: First the lethality ignores a certain amount, Then you reduce the left over with cleaver, Then you penetrate through the percentage of the left amount of armor. For example let's say the enemy champ has 400 armor 100 base and 300 bonus Yasuo ult ignores 50%bonus armor, so he ignores 150 armor after the ult not 200. See what I mean? So now we have 250 armor to deal with. So if with eclipse you ignore another 18 armor. And the collector ignores 12 250-18-12= 220 Now we reduce that armor by 30% with cleaver so 30% of 220 is 66 220 - 66 = 154 Now we have our armor pen to calculate so with eclipse passive giving us 4% every legendary item considering we don't sell boots is 20% + 30% from LDR so 50% armor pen. 154÷2 = 72 so yeah the enemy would have 72 armor left for your damage to get mitigated by IF they had 400 armor. But even if they had just 100 they would still be left with about 15 armor so you would be doing damn near close to true damage but not true damage.
Day 38 asking for the Perfect Team comp. Zwag plays whatever champ he wants to carry with. Toplane goes tank Zac, tons of cc and health. Jungle goes Nunu, lots of free ganks. Adc goes Zilean, decent laning, E and R to keep Zwag alive and running around. Support goes Yuumi, tons of healing. New idea: Either toplane or adc could go Kayle for the R and hyperscaling so Zwag isn't the only win condition. (On the other hand, Zwag could go Kayle and that's the hyper carry with the Perfect Team.)

This is a build I can recommend, but not simply because of the armor pen though. I can recommend it because of the combination of the armor penetration, the Lethal Tempo keystone and that the champion is Yasuo. Considering the lack of lifesteal and omnivamp though, I would imagine Cut Down would be better than Cut the Grass for runes though. And while Resolve is definitely a good secondary rune choice, particularly because of Bone Plating for a melee champion, I am curious about Overgrowth rather than Shield Bash. Yasuo's passive is literally a shield, Yasuo likes to do damage, and Shield Bash gives damage for having a shield. The damage from Shield Bash is also adaptive, meaning it will benefit from...oh geez, I don't know...the "100% armor pen" referenced in the title of the video! Never mind the fact that Yasuo gets two procs of his passive shield in teamfights: one when he first takes damage, and the other when he ults!! *Sigh* Edit: Also if Collector is part of your build, don't build it next to last! The gold it gives you is factored into its cost, so buying it last when the gold it generates won't matter doesn't help you! Get it first or second.

Alright, read the lol wiki and finally know how does the whole Armor, Magic, Percentual, Flat, Lethality, Reduction and Penetration works so listen closely (at the end, you will have some functional builds that work of this ideas) First Armor and magic resist reduce incoming damage by 100/(100+(AR/MR)) by calculations it's easiest to thing about it like so. If you take 1000 raw damage with 25 AR/MR you would have 1250 effective health. With 100 AR/MR That would be 2000 effective health and with let's say 300 AR/MR that would be 3000 health. Now to the AR/MR reduction and penetration stuff. There are basically 4 ways those resistances get reduced and they get reduced in this order. 1. Flat reduction 2. % reduction 3. % penetration 4. Flat penetration (in game achievable through lethality - which doesn't convert to flat penetration of the bat but instead is adjusted to reduce Armor by 0.6+(0.4x(your champion level/18) so at first level you only get around 0.6 flat penetration for 1 lethality, while at level 18 you get the same amount of it which you have lethality Now to the dissapointing stuff sadly all the clickbait 100+% AR/MR penetration videos are wrong since the % penetration doesn't add up but multiplies with itself so 30% + 30% isn't 60% but (1-0.3)X(1-0.3)=49% penetration. So yeah it's pretty much as you suspected the best buildpath against a lot of Armor of % penetration after another % penetration after another % penetration after which you may finally start to thing about lethality. While against not tanky opponents 1 % Armor penetration item is always worth but then you can build lethality all you want. Lethality however does add up so here's the build 1% penetration item, Prowler's Claw for mythic passive of 5 lethality per item and full on lethality build afterwards. Glhf 😁

How about full Ability Haste Yasuo support with Yone adc. Leveling up windwall to have it at 18s base CD + 50% cdr that's 9s cd Windwall that lasts 4 seconds. effectively a 5s cooldown on the most op ability in league, Windwall.

Alright, read the lol wiki and finally know how does the whole Armor, Magic, Percentual, Flat, Lethality, Reduction and Penetration works so listen closely (at the end, you will have some functional builds that work of this ideas)
First Armor and magic resist reduce incoming damage by 100/(100+(AR/MR)) by calculations it's easiest to thing about it like so. If you take 1000 raw damage with 25 AR/MR you would have 1250 effective health. With 100 AR/MR That would be 2000 effective health and with let's say 300 AR/MR that would be 3000 health.
Now to the AR/MR reduction and penetration stuff.
There are basically 4 ways those resistances get reduced and they get reduced in this order.
1. Flat reduction
2. % reduction
3. % penetration
4. Flat penetration (in game achievable through lethality - which doesn't convert to flat penetration of the bat but instead is adjusted to reduce Armor by 0.6+(0.4x(your champion level/18) so at first level you only get around 0.6 flat penetration for 1 lethality, while at level 18 you get the same amount of it which you have lethality
Now to the dissapointing stuff sadly all the clickbait 100+% AR/MR penetration videos are wrong since the % penetration doesn't add up but multiplies with itself so 30% + 30% isn't 60% but (1-0.3)X(1-0.3)=49% penetration.
So yeah it's pretty much as you suspected the best buildpath against a lot of Armor of % penetration after another % penetration after another % penetration after which you may finally start to thing about lethality. While against not tanky opponents 1 % Armor penetration item is always worth but then you can build lethality all you want.
Lethality however does add up so here's the build 1% penetration item, Prowler's Claw for mythic passive of 5 lethality per item and full on lethality build afterwards. Glhf 😁
Plus let's not forget, BC doesn't give armor pen, it reduces armor wich means it makes so other armore pen are "less" efficients

How about full Ability Haste Yasuo support with Yone adc. Leveling up windwall to have it at 18s base CD + 50% cdr that's 9s cd Windwall that lasts 4 seconds. effectively a 5s cooldown on the most op ability in league, Windwall.
After that3 kills mid i would have said "i hope that dragon was worth it"
