I have this segment recorded from when the American show included the various international versions during commercial breaks as part of a special. Of all the stuff they showed, this host is the biggest standout. That stare is burned into my memory.
The whole style of this show is incredible. If we in the US ever revived this show, I have to admit that I would want it like this. Except with the American rules and the lights going round and round.

The only thing missing from this whole RR experience is a "contestant's eye view" of the drop. Viewers really ought to be shown what was really beneath those trapdoors; I'm sure it would be well-received.
@@astridamongtheskies yes, but as a child it seemed to me that they were falling into the abyss at all, but it was even more reinforced by the fact that there was such an announcement where the presenter looks into the pit and it was heard that a person was screaming and there was a sound of falling

The way the host just stares down the contestants when they're in danger of falling is so badass.
Wow... much different than the old American version. Very dark... evil. I love that long pause before the drop, but I miss the clicking.
