My first thought of her was the same as Raja and Ravens. It doesn’t matter that her references are from anime, overdrawn eyes and harsh contour have previously been a key for two of drag races biggest queens. It’s fine to praise ‘generic’ makeup because that type of makeup plays off of your natural features so no two people really ever look identical.
I think that’s the caveat of doing a unique style of makeup. Once one or two people have done it, it becomes their signature look, so everyone who has that is merely a “copy,” even if they’re not necessarily one. Whereas if it’s generic, there’s no specific person you’ll think of, so it doesn’t seem like a copy, even if it may be one. So basically, if you wanna do a unique or dramatic style of makeup, be aware that, if it looks similar to someone specific’s style, you might get compared to them and even called a copycat. 😐

Plop Plop I disagree. I’m tired of seeing the same boring ass nyx liquid foundation x air spun setting powder. Sakura doesn’t look exactly the same like trixie or Crystal; they each have unique techniques and styles; and if you are considering that they look more similar than pageant queens; I need to get you some prescription glasses.
To be honest, when something is exagerated and done multiple times, it can be a lil too much to handle. That's how the human's mind works: if something is repetitive BUT it's more put together and minimal, then it can be conceived as "normal" or "appealing". That's why most people (including Raja or even Michelle Visage) dont particulary like exagerated make up such as Anime faces cos, a part from the fact that it completely covers up your identity and masks you up, it becomes a little distracting. If you add the fact that Rock's outfit are exagerated too, it can be seen as too chaotic for the viewers and not balanced (that's just my opinion, I'm being objectively cos I love Rock's outfits and looks).

Sakura doesn’t look exactly the same like trixie or Crystal; they each have unique techniques and styles; and if you are considering that they look more similar than pageant queens; I need to get you some prescription glasses.
To be honest, when something is exagerated and done multiple times, it can be a lil too much to handle. That's how the human's mind works: if something is repetitive BUT it's more put together and minimal, then it can be conceived as "normal" or "appealing". That's why most people (including Raja or even Michelle Visage) dont particulary like exagerated make up such as Anime faces cos, a part from the fact that it completely covers up your identity and masks you up, it becomes a little distracting. If you add the fact that Rock's outfit are exagerated too, it can be seen as too chaotic for the viewers and not balanced (that's just my opinion, I'm being objectively cos I love Rock's outfits and looks).
