    I switched back to reg grip after a year of rubber. I sand my grip tape down when I set up a new board. Still get grip and less rip

    Ollie up that skatepark stair set, or Ollie over like 4 to 5 boards high in slow motion so we can see if your feet move with the rubber stuff. Your feet fly off when you jump down stuff so it is impossible to tell if it is you, or the rubber grip.

    I tried rubber grip, and I couldn’t do anything that touched my shoes fabric. Like heelfips were impossible because my shoe just slip off the grip. I wanted rubber grip to work but it felt so dangerous how slippery it was.

      It's definitely not for everyone and I totally understand what you mean.

      Was it new shoes?

    could it be that you flick and overall skate different to account for less grip on the rubber griptape?

    Awesome video Kendall. I just switched to DKL gen 7 and tried it out for the first time today, simply because I can't afford to buy new shoes all the time. I was super surprised to see how grippy it was and how ''normal'' it felt to skate. It'll be interesting to see how I feel about it in a few weeks after trying it out a bit, but your video gave me hope! :) Do you ever skate in a ''dusty'' environment? If you do, do you see that DKL would be a problem, or is it good enough to simply wipe it every once in a while or even after each session? I'm asking because I'm moving to Jordan in a few weeks, which is a whole lot dustier than Germany where I'm currently staying :)

      That’s awesome! I’ll be in Germany in a couple of weeks. I’m taking a skate trip to Berlin!
      Yeah a lot of skate parks in my area are dusty. And it does start to get slippery so just be aware of that.

    for me i usually just give my shoes a good coat of superglue and/or shoe goo before i skate them so that i’m not wearing down the shoes as fast as usual. considering trying some dkl but i always skate mob so i’m not sure if i’d like it

    • @KendallBertaux1
      @KendallBertaux1  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah I typically use shoe-goo to try and make my shoes last longer as well.

    The only downside to skating is burning through shoes. I guess that could be an upside too, as you get multiple pairs of new shoes throughout the year. To save money, I only buy skate shoes that are on clearance and then preemptively put a protectant coating of shoe goo on, especially on the laces/lace holes. Not sure who wants to hear my skate shoe routine but there it is lol

      Before switching to rubber grip I pretty much did the same thing. I would only buy shoes that were on sale and use shoe goo until they complete wore out.

    I am really curious about the rubber grip, but the stuff anyone who skaters the rubber stuff does is stuff you could do on a Kmart board so I can never get a decent Guage on the rubber grip's legitimateness.

      We’ll I hope this video helps. I don’t think people who skate Walmart boards are skating stairs (even if this set is a little small) or doing back tails. If you have questions just let me know. 👌🏾

    No don't go back. Lol. I can't switch love dkl griptape to much and they have a new design for their grips now, thicker and last longer.

    The ishod wair shoes are the least durable nike shoe I've ever skated, lasted 2 sessions

    • @KendallBertaux1
      @KendallBertaux1  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah they started to really get shredded when I started using normal grip.

      Yeah my laces ripped the first session. Durability was pretty bad.
