It is called Bangla Sahab Gurudwara because in the seventeenth/ eighteenth century when the Sixtj Sikh Guru Shri Hakishan Sahib ji came to Delhi he was offered to stay at the BanhlowMaharaja of Jaipir.

Aur iska Jo side mein jo Talab Hai vah barish ka time vahan per Talab ka Jitna area Hai vahan per Barish Nahin Hota Hai Yah kaun sa Karishma hai, pata nahin per vahan per Pani Mein barish ka pani Nahin girta.

Mera school, Gurudwara Bangla Sahib ke pass he tha. Hum to har roj vahan karah parsad khane jaate they. Vahan har kaam bahot he organised tarike se hota hai. Seva karne walon ki tadaat, vahan ke worker se kahin jyada hai. Bahut he khoobsurat manzar hota hai. Aap jarur aayega Gurudwara Bangla Sahib.

He's not laughing but on purpose disrespecting The Place... these south indians are known for that. That old lady told him to shutup because people pray as they prepare langar. Prayers of hundreds of volunteers make langar successful; you can try same recipe at home and it won't taste the same.

The concept of langar which was designed to be upheld among all people, regardless of religion, caste, colour, creed, age, gender, or social status-was an innovative charity and symbol of equality introduced by the Hindu religion king Chandragupta Maurya in early 4th century (also called Bhandara in Hinduism) later on the founder of Sikhism, Guru Nanak around 1500 CE got influenced by this and start doing this practice in North Indian state of Punjab. The roots of such community kitchen institutions and volunteer-run charitable feeding is very old in Sikh traditions; the Chinese Buddhist pilgrim Ching (7th century CE) wrote about monasteries with such volunteer-run kitchens. A related concept emerged from the practices of, Faruddin Ganjshara Sufi saint living in the Punjab region during the 13th century, who would redistribute sweets his visitors would bring to his khalifas and common devotees. This concept developed, over time, into langar-khana near his shrine, a practice documented in Jawahir al-Faridi compiled in 1623 CE.

mai is gurudware se 4-5 KM hi dur rahta hu.. so jab b jaata hu pahle 1-2 hour seva karta hu fir langar khaata hu.. bohot yummy hota h.. totally sab kuch desi ghee me..
