- In this video, Brian Flechsig from Mad River Outfitters breaks down how he ties his sculpin fly. This sculpin is based on the Mike Lawson Wool Head Sculpin that we sold here in the shop for many years and was a staple. It is no longer available commercially so Brian had to figure out a way to tie it himself.

Rogue followed me around, last time I was there. He knows who good for a belly rub. His snoring was hilarious. Reminds me of my lab. He might need his own page.

Something to keep in mind, All feathers have taper, depending on the effect you are after it's either (generally) tip tied for bulk, base tied for taper when palmering. Just something to think about.
Thanks for watching!!
If the fish doesn't bite on this, it will certainly applaud it for a fantastically artistically well-executed work of art. Didn't catch what fish this is meant for, but what the heck.
Thanks for watching.
hey Brian - when are you gonna do the next videos man? Thanks dude
He filmed them all together. Should be released soon?
That head you tied is a Bob Popovics bulkhead tie.
Of course!
What weight rod would use to cast those?
Feel free to call or e-mail Brian at the shop and he'll be happy to help. Thanks!!!
Show us that Sculpzulla version please
Up next!
For #1, how about a name to fit the circumstances: Stolen Sculpin?
