  • In this video, Brian Flechsig from Mad River Outfitters breaks down how he ties his sculpin fly. This sculpin is based on the Mike Lawson Wool Head Sculpin that we sold here in the shop for many years and was a staple. It is no longer available commercially so Brian had to figure out a way to tie it himself.

      Rogue followed me around, last time I was there. He knows who good for a belly rub. His snoring was hilarious. Reminds me of my lab. He might need his own page.
      Oh, and thanks for the info on tying the sculpin too.

    Purdy.. These things work great on everything! From brookies the same size as the fly, to hoss largemouth. Can't go wrong with a sculpin.

    Thank you brian for a good tutorial n thr rogue snore cam is hilarious! Ive a rescue dog named Ratchet who snores loudly with his paws in the air.😂 I'm looking forward to ur next video as i want to learn to tie the sculpin and sculpzilla.     Something to keep in mind, All feathers have taper, depending on the effect you are after it's either (generally) tip tied for bulk, base tied for taper when palmering. Just something to think about.
