"After about two weeks of testin’ and codin’, I present to you all a Yoshi, now rideable ‘n stuff. Ya just need to spawn him in with D-Pad Down (will change into a command in the future) and either hop on his back or grab him t’ start ridin’ him. You can dismount him with Z.
Right now the only actual useful function he serves is his flutter jump by holdin’ down A mid-air. With the Wing Cap equip, he can flutter endlessly and can control his direction.
Hope y’all enjoy the mod.
Known bugs:
Occasionally, you may ride air instead of an actual Yoshi. I dunno what’s causin’ this so fer now the only sensible thing to do is to dismount and ride him again.
If both players try t’ ride one Yoshi they’ll screw him up and he’ll simultaneously teleport between two rider’s place. Although this bug is rather hard to execute, please don’t fight over who gets the Yoshi first, there’s always plenty fer everyone (since ya can just spawn a new one in ‘n stuff).
This isn’t actually a bug, but please do not ride a Yoshi underwater, otherwise you will automatically be dismounted from him and not be able to ride him again . I am not responsible fer you lettin’ yer dino friend drown under the seas. (Though he actually won’t die he’ll just vanish after 30 seconds and go back to the row of Yoshies that are waiting t’ be spawned.)"

When a Unused Piece of Code becomes a Dino Mount Power-Up (Yoshi ride, like in SMW)
I was worried this was gonna be a retread of Kazes version of the mod, but I do like the power up compatibility, even if the wing cap breaks the challenge & the metal textures are bugged it looks super fun.
The only thing I couldn't do is the tongue, otherwise this is kinda just Kaze's mod all along.
Also the metal texture is not actually bugged out. This is a feature of sm64ex-coop itself where we can recolor the metal textures accordin' to Mario's shirt texture.
I love seeing the progress the modders of this game have made. I got into SMW hacking a few years back and I know how complicated even the simplest changes can be when treading new territory. I honestly woke my gf at the time from a sound sleep at like 4 am just to show her a small moderation on a sleeping goomba sprite that I had finally been able to pull off. She was not nearly as impressed or amused as I was lol. I didn't even make the custom sprite, I just made an alteration to it's behavior and I was so damn proud of myself. I think the frustration of doing so much work only to have a small visual payoff in a game and having people who don't understand how involved hacking can be say things like "neat" or "oh, i have no idea what you did," is something very few people out there can relate to. So when I see things like this all I can think is that this amazing. So many people wanted to ride that yoshi and now they can. I hope this keeps going, I would love to see the riding physics and tongue ability become apart of this (or maybe it has and Im just behind lol) Playing the mod where that can be done, you quickly realize that the levels just don't have a need for yoshi but I feel like if it were the 120 star reward and the players were just told hey there is nothing left to do, but heres a new toy to play with, that would be a welcome addition to the game imo. I like the idea with yoshi hatching from an egg at the start of each stage rather than spawning whenever, wherever and I would maybe not allow it in the bowser levels but that might just be me. It would also be sweet if there was feature in the pc port to change the yoshi's color too. This is definitely one of the mods that would have made the 9 year old version of me cry with joy. Great job
