Those animatronics that are thrown like “trash” once brought generations joy, brought parents laughter watching them perform like my parents (currently in their 70s) once had employees who would care and clean, keep up after them. It truly is a end of an era for many generations who grew up with them. I REALLY hope the CEO sees this major change and regrets it in the future. Doing what they did to the animatronics is equivalent to 5 innocent band members being murdered by 5 killers. Chuck E. Cheese could’ve sold these whole to make some spare bucks instead of just destroy them to throw the animatronics in the trash, where they will be left to rot in the wasteland. This just breaks my heart. I lost interest in CEC but I am still extremely pissed off that THIS is how they see and treat the animatronics. The whole reason I left the CEC fandom and lost interest was because of this.

Have you ever thought that the dance floor could take a turn for the worse? And before discarding this in the trash give me a chance to show you that it very well could happen. Robotic bands should not split up over some light up floor because it has more potential than you think. On the contrary the animatronic shows may be outdated, but do you think a disco 1970s dance floor is better. A creative quality Disney show that is inspiring, magical, intriguing with the 60 astonishing shows a year full of unique nostalgia that is uplifting the show changes each month and plays every 12 minutes not every hour. It's the first and only pizza place with a kids friendly animatronic show that isn't Disney or as expensive, it's also entertainment of all ages. Kids still show interest over the past 11 years, I saw them admiring the show. They adore him, he brought happiness to the children and still does. Each store has a different stage so it's not bland, it's unique. In addition, it gives technicians a job, as it also puts a pep in their step. I remember one time a lazy worker put utensils on the ledge of the studio C alpha stage the robot spun around and knocked the utensils off the stage the worker turned around as the robot tilted his head smiling at him. Besides the shows are Nolan bushnell's and garner holt's biggest accomplishments how would they feel? Kids of all ages used the slogan #save our show to show that they don't want munch's make believe band to become make believe. Remember in 1972 families were not accepting of video games, but in 1977 a friendly robotic smile changed at all. He brought the company together and now you're trying to replace him. Tom leverton you said that the band doesn't live up to kids expectation, a 7 foot hydraulic engineering band replaced to a cheap dance floor. Wow. You're trying to include the characters more but yet you're taking them away for parts or trash. Besides, getting rid of the animatronic show is like crushing the Disneyland or Disney World castle. it's unjust. Think about it, most kids are too young to walk much less dance. How are screens supposed to entertain? Some kids that have epilepsy and may have seizures because of the lights, causing conflicts and drama. Lights can be overheated and burned out melting the plastic covering causing a fire. With all the lights burning out, with no way to replace it there's no point it's just a floor. Pizza and drinks can get spilled on it, causing falls from parents and mascots and kids with tons of lawsuits! The corners of the floors could crack and tear upwards; kids could get scratched up from it or trip. What about kids, who know the mascot is a mascot and convince others to gang up on him? Drunk parents could use this as an opportunity, fights will break out. Dance floor is more like a brawl floor. The mascot is so unproportional, too small in the commercials and too big in real life and he can't even move its mouth to the music, just Bob its head as the mouth is hanging open. Workers aren't going to get out there and dance in that hot costume. They will come out later and not In Sync with the song. They don't care, nobody cares, you don't care. You spend more money on the six TV's and the actual floor. 600k. I know it's supposed to give off a cleaner look, but in reality it gives off a cheaper one. I would also like to add that with COVID-19 breaking out in 2020 that it is unsanitary to use the mascot as a form of entertainment because workers could spread bacteria and the virus inside of the suit. Basically, it was made for humans to strut their stuff with a weird mascot rat. What's next and interactive swimming pool? Even that would be better, haven't you heard the community's cries? We've never met before but believe me you're going to know me. You'll argue over this, then see our needs, but keep on though let this pass out your ears, as you slowly diminish the magic. On the other hand I don't despise Chuck e cheese company. I'm just trying to save our shows because I always wanted to own the studio C animatronic in my location. You see I have a problem with socializing and that bot has always shown me the way, please don't destroy him. I understand the remodel is this week! Besides Chuck E cheese and Hawaii kept both the dance floor and robot, why get rid of one? He has so much potential, you could make the stage interactive with prerecorded skits and programming. You could even have the robot at the corner of the dance floor propped upwards as a DJ singing and dancing along with kids not missing a beat. You could even make a museum based off of your guys' stories for all the kids to see. All the more, you could also charge a dollar or play pass point per robotic show skit. You already took away our coins/tokens, sky tubes, and ball pits. Don't make the chuckster be next!

Let is be known that this was CEC's worst mistake that they could've ever made, getting rid of the animatronic band. At least with the animatronics they didnt have to give them a paycheck and they worked 24/7 365 days a year without the need for a break or a vacation.
This is so sad yet so fascinating at the same time. Empty spaces on the walls where old-style artwork used to be, the empty stage covered with tarp with the powered down ‘Wink’ with its eye closed, the unplugged control unit with the old 90’s logo sitting on the table, the animatronics beaten up from being ripped off the stage lying in a trash heap surrounded by broken props and old empty Avenger Chuck walkaround heads... waiting to be taken away... The end of an era.
Bro, this is just messed up. I almost feel like crying. I don't want this to happen to my local anytime soon...the way that all the animatronics and walk around heads are just lying around torn apart and mutilated and then carelessly just being taken out to rot is just terrible and depressing.
I’m glad the comments reflect how sad this is. So many people are so quick to say they’re creepy or weird which they’re entitled in feeling that way if they do, but I’m so fascinated by the history and how restaurants with animatronics really did used to treat them like a show. I don’t know anything about this location, but I’ve watched people find the old stages and record how they looked in the last few years before they were taken out, it hasn’t been the same for years. They used to have dedicated showrooms where they’d turn the lights down and highlight each character as they performed and showed this great feat of engineering. Maybe kids were going to lose interest anyway, but I know a lot of people who grew up without that extra layer of attention were freaked out by the band just sitting there, simply blinking, whereas the original intent was to cover that part of it with the curtains, so when they preformed they were as life-like as they could be. With the games and the kiddie rides and the show, it was like they really could bring a small version of something like Disney World to families that could have a nice trip down the road but never afford to go as far as a real theme park. It’s still going to bring kids joy. They’ll still be excited about the games and meeting the new Chuck E. that walks around. But it’s truly not the same. I don’t think it’s been the same for twenty years at this point, but seeing those guys so disregarded and destroyed to make sure nobody gets them is disheartening to me.
I know how you feel…But unfortunately, either way, fans can’t get the animatronics due to copyright rules. But I’m on your side. I know there are a lot of cast members against this act. Too bad corporate is deciding not to listen and this has to stop.

Damn... this was my location. I remember going here a lot and the Hungtington Beach and Costa Mesa locations. The Garden Grove/Harbor Blvd one was by far my favorite. I remember seeing the cyberamic Chuck undergo his various phases like the tuxedo, cool chuck, avenger... now the location succumbed to 2.0 🥺 you will be missed my childhood!

Damn, I'm crying over them still having the original rack mountable shelf for the big JVC VCR...you can get it still at tech stores but that one came the same color AS the VCR whereas they usually just come in black or silver so on top of like $200 for the damn shelf, you still have to find some place to get it powder coated.... I bet they wouldn't have give a crap about that shelf had I been there to ask their tech or GM for it... THAT sucks...

Sometimes the decision you thought would be your last can end up being your best. It looks like everyone else hated this, but I see this as CECs last chance. If they can maybe bring back the animatronics better than before, or even introduce a different idea (I liked when Chuck and the gang were actual puppets, or basically just when Chuck had a bowler hat lol).
if they planned to bring back the characters in some new meaningful way, i might understand. but as is, they just sort of put a screen on the floor and tv's on the walls that kids will pay even less attention to than the robots. cec feels soulless right now. i wanna believe that some good can come from this but this feels bleak

@S.T. Techin I called Guest relations and they said they cannot donate the animatronics to fans due to copyright rules. Instead, a worker from corporate comes to pick up the animatronics and put them in storage to recycle any broken parts. Hope they recycle the animatronics after seeing them like this instead of carelessly leaving them to rot in the wasteland..Childhoods missed.
I literally went there yesterday. The exterior was almost complete. They haven’t installed the logo yet. Inside, most of it is Phase 4. They installed the dance floor. It’s pretty small. The walls including the Stage was covered in Blue Foil. Half of the floor was changing. The games stayed the same. The wall is leaving marks from the pictures. The Big TV hasn’t been installed yet. The Animatronics were destroyed! The Small TV’s were in the Game Area. Everyone had to use the woman’s restroom since the men’s was remodeling.
Personally I'm absolutely disgusted, they're literally destroying and throwing out thousands of people's memories, I already knew that they were going to dismantle them but seeing it actually happen makes me want to vomit, I'm a massive fan of animatronics so this was absolutely horrific to watch, not to mention the fact that they're replacing them with a stupid dance floor, and now that I know that this is the fate of what's going to happen to the bots at the location I go to it makes me want to cry, as soon as they're gone I'll never go back to Chuck E cheese ever again, the only place I'll ever considered going to is that "superstore" that is supposedly going to open up in Orlando that will have animatronics, (if that's even going to happen) other than that I'll never give CEC entertainment a penny of my money besides that.

This is disgusting. I will be honest here, as a kid I HATED stuff like this. It was horrifying. Even small ones like Dancing Hampsters scared me for crying out loud! I only remember going once and basically ignored them for the most part. But over the years, I grew to appriciate animatronics. (Hell, I am a huge fan of Teddy Ruxpin and own one along with a Douglas fir!) But this, THIS! What I'd give to see these guys in action once more... You know some folks worked thier ASSES off to make these guys perform for kids and adults alike, and no, I don't hate Rockafire or think they are better. In fact, they both deserved better. Animatronics are special, and we can't just treat them like yesterday's garbage. I am not a FNAF fan, but CLEARLY this series has brought new fasctination to animatronics but no, these jerks don't see that. I just... I don't know what to say anymore.

Have you ever thought that the dance floor could take a turn for the worse? And before discarding this in the trash give me a chance to show you that it very well could happen. Robotic bands should not split up over some light up floor because it has more potential than you think.
On the contrary the animatronic shows may be outdated, but do you think a disco 1970s dance floor is better. A creative quality Disney show that is inspiring, magical, intriguing with the 60 astonishing shows a year full of unique nostalgia that is uplifting the show changes each month and plays every 12 minutes not every hour. It's the first and only pizza place with a kids friendly animatronic show that isn't Disney or as expensive, it's also entertainment of all ages. Kids still show interest over the past 11 years, I saw them admiring the show. They adore him, he brought happiness to the children and still does. Each store has a different stage so it's not bland, it's unique. In addition, it gives technicians a job, as it also puts a pep in their step. I remember one time a lazy worker put utensils on the ledge of the studio C alpha stage the robot spun around and knocked the utensils off the stage the worker turned around as the robot tilted his head smiling at him. Besides the shows are Nolan bushnell's and garner holt's biggest accomplishments how would they feel? Kids of all ages used the slogan #save our show to show that they don't want munch's make believe band to become make believe. Remember in 1972 families were not accepting of video games, but in 1977 a friendly robotic smile changed at all. He brought the company together and now you're trying to replace him.
Tom leverton you said that the band doesn't live up to kids expectation, a 7 foot hydraulic engineering band replaced to a cheap dance floor. Wow. You're trying to include the characters more but yet you're taking them away for parts or trash. Besides, getting rid of the animatronic show is like crushing the Disneyland or Disney World castle. it's unjust.
Think about it, most kids are too young to walk much less dance. How are screens supposed to entertain? Some kids that have epilepsy and may have seizures because of the lights, causing conflicts and drama. Lights can be overheated and burned out melting the plastic covering causing a fire. With all the lights burning out, with no way to replace it there's no point it's just a floor. Pizza and drinks can get spilled on it, causing falls from parents and mascots and kids with tons of lawsuits! The corners of the floors could crack and tear upwards; kids could get scratched up from it or trip. What about kids, who know the mascot is a mascot and convince others to gang up on him? Drunk parents could use this as an opportunity, fights will break out. Dance floor is more like a brawl floor. The mascot is so unproportional, too small in the commercials and too big in real life and he can't even move its mouth to the music, just Bob its head as the mouth is hanging open.
Workers aren't going to get out there and dance in that hot costume. They will come out later and not In Sync with the song. They don't care, nobody cares, you don't care. You spend more money on the six TV's and the actual floor. 600k. I know it's supposed to give off a cleaner look, but in reality it gives off a cheaper one. I would also like to add that with COVID-19 breaking out in 2020 that it is unsanitary to use the mascot as a form of entertainment because workers could spread bacteria and the virus inside of the suit. Basically, it was made for humans to strut their stuff with a weird mascot rat. What's next and interactive swimming pool? Even that would be better, haven't you heard the community's cries? We've never met before but believe me you're going to know me. You'll argue over this, then see our needs, but keep on though let this pass out your ears, as you slowly diminish the magic.
On the other hand I don't despise Chuck e cheese company. I'm just trying to save our shows because I always wanted to own the studio C animatronic in my location. You see I have a problem with socializing and that bot has always shown me the way, please don't destroy him. I understand the remodel is this week! Besides Chuck E cheese and Hawaii kept both the dance floor and robot, why get rid of one? He has so much potential, you could make the stage interactive with prerecorded skits and programming. You could even have the robot at the corner of the dance floor propped upwards as a DJ singing and dancing along with kids not missing a beat. You could even make a museum based off of your guys' stories for all the kids to see. All the more, you could also charge a dollar or play pass point per robotic show skit.
You already took away our coins/tokens, sky tubes, and ball pits. Don't make the chuckster be next!

Empty spaces on the walls where old-style artwork used to be, the empty stage covered with tarp with the powered down ‘Wink’ with its eye closed, the unplugged control unit with the old 90’s logo sitting on the table, the animatronics beaten up from being ripped off the stage lying in a trash heap surrounded by broken props and old empty Avenger Chuck walkaround heads... waiting to be taken away...

I’m glad the comments reflect how sad this is. So many people are so quick to say they’re creepy or weird which they’re entitled in feeling that way if they do, but I’m so fascinated by the history and how restaurants with animatronics really did used to treat them like a show. I don’t know anything about this location, but I’ve watched people find the old stages and record how they looked in the last few years before they were taken out, it hasn’t been the same for years. They used to have dedicated showrooms where they’d turn the lights down and highlight each character as they performed and showed this great feat of engineering. Maybe kids were going to lose interest anyway, but I know a lot of people who grew up without that extra layer of attention were freaked out by the band just sitting there, simply blinking, whereas the original intent was to cover that part of it with the curtains, so when they preformed they were as life-like as they could be. With the games and the kiddie rides and the show, it was like they really could bring a small version of something like Disney World to families that could have a nice trip down the road but never afford to go as far as a real theme park. It’s still going to bring kids joy. They’ll still be excited about the games and meeting the new Chuck E. that walks around. But it’s truly not the same. I don’t think it’s been the same for twenty years at this point, but seeing those guys so disregarded and destroyed to make sure nobody gets them is disheartening to me.
I know how you feel…But unfortunately, either way, fans can’t get the animatronics due to copyright rules. But I’m on your side. I know there are a lot of cast members against this act. Too bad corporate is deciding not to listen and this has to stop.

Damn... this was my location. I remember going here a lot and the Hungtington Beach and Costa Mesa locations. The Garden Grove/Harbor Blvd one was by far my favorite. Damn, I'm crying over them still having the original rack mountable shelf for the big JVC VCR...you can get it still at tech stores but that one came the same color AS the VCR whereas they usually just come in black or silver so on top of like $200 for the damn shelf, you still have to find some place to get it powder coated.... I bet they wouldn't have give a crap about that shelf had I been there to ask their tech or GM for it... THAT sucks...

Sometimes the decision you thought would be your last can end up being your best. It looks like everyone else hated this, but I see this as CECs last chance. If they can maybe bring back the animatronics better than before, or even introduce a different idea (I liked when Chuck and the gang were actual puppets, or basically just when Chuck had a bowler hat lol).

@S.T. Techin I called Guest relations and they said they cannot donate the animatronics to fans due to copyright rules. Instead, a worker from corporate comes to pick up the animatronics and put them in storage to recycle any broken parts. Hope they recycle the animatronics after seeing them like this instead of carelessly leaving them to rot in the wasteland..Childhoods missed.

I literally went there yesterday. The exterior was almost complete. They haven’t installed the logo yet. Inside, most of it is Phase 4. They installed the dance floor. It’s pretty small. The walls including the Stage was covered in Blue Foil. Half of the floor was changing. The games stayed the same. The wall is leaving marks from the pictures. The Big TV hasn’t been installed yet. The Animatronics were destroyed! The Small TV’s were in the Game Area. Everyone had to use the woman’s restroom since the men’s was remodeling.

Personally I'm absolutely disgusted, they're literally destroying and throwing out thousands of people's memories, I already knew that they were going to dismantle them but seeing it actually happen makes me want to vomit, I'm a massive fan of animatronics so this was absolutely horrific to watch, not to mention the fact that they're replacing them with a stupid dance floor, and now that I know that this is the fate of what's going to happen to the bots at the location I go to it makes me want to cry, as soon as they're gone I'll never go back to Chuck E cheese ever again, the only place I'll ever considered going to is that "superstore" that is supposedly going to open up in Orlando that will have animatronics, (if that's even going to happen) other than that I'll never give CEC entertainment a penny of my money besides that.

When you realize that the Animatronics are literally meant to entertain without the need of a break or a paycheck and now 2.0 has replaced them with the exact opposite

I will be honest here, as a kid I HATED stuff like this. It was horrifying.
Even small ones like Dancing Hampsters scared me for crying out loud!
I only remember going once and basically ignored them for the most part.
But over the years, I grew to appriciate animatronics.
(Hell, I am a huge fan of Teddy Ruxpin and own one along with a Douglas fir!)
But this, THIS! What I'd give to see these guys in action once more...
You know some folks worked thier ASSES off to make these guys perform for kids and adults alike,
and no, I don't hate Rockafire or think they are better. In fact, they both deserved better.
Animatronics are special, and we can't just treat them like yesterday's garbage.
I am not a FNAF fan, but CLEARLY this series has brought new fasctination to animatronics

I would’ve thought they destroyed those walkaround heads years ago. Why’d it take so long for them to notice and why did they have to ruin them? Also the fact that one of them had blue eyelids meant it once sported the cool Chuck hat and possibly at one point derby! Also I hear the Corpus location might be next. Any confirmation?
While I don't know if Corpus will get 2.0 I think the old 90s walkaround heads were just there because that cec didn't feel like destroying it and just left it in storage

The fact I live in Australia and I’m seventeen, I didn’t have the chance to take trip to America and experience what CEC was all about. It must’ve been so cool to see those animatronics 🥺
Their are still some places but most have gotten rid of the robots
