Sorry to hear you guys split up. Seems to be the way things usually go nowadays; most people I know have been through a breakup or divorce of one or more long-term relationships. My personal experience is that it takes me at least a year to get over it, so give yourself time and be kind to yourself. You aren't alone, and we're rooting for you!

Of all the names mentioned so far, I love “Clark’s Temptress”! It can go so many ways: 1) Literally, she’s your vessel; 2) Your future partner(s); 3) Your various entrepreneurial ideas/ventures.
Good luck landing on your feet again. I’ve always applied the “one year rule” to my personal traumatic events. That is, after the distance from a key event afforded by one year, one almost ALWAYS can look back and, with gratitude, understand exactly why that event was perfect for your future outcome. In my experience, this especially applies to break-ups. No matter how heartbroken I’ve been in the moment, there hasn’t been a single break-up I don’t see as a blessing, now. It’s opened doors to new relationships, new opportunities, and new happiness. It leaves no room for being a victim. I wish the same for you, Clark.

I went thru the same thing 6 yrs ago. Your're certainly not alone in this. I had good close friends and my (adult) kids to help me get past the first 6 months. After that I was pretty good. Moved permanently to Mexico. I date also, but tbh not much interested in a long-term relationship. I have discovered I love a drama free, single life. Honestly? I'd recommend you stay single for at least a year...get to know yourself. Lost my sailboat to the divorce...currently looking for another in Mexico.
    Best of luck to you.
"Clark's Adventure" probably makes the most sense.

Sorry to hear this. To be honest I had also left your channel about 2 years ago. You originally said the channel was about sailing the world, then you got stuck in luperon for about 3-4 years it seems. Anyway, sad Emily is gone. Maybe now you’ll scrape the barnacles off your hull and get traveling again. You don’t need a woman to go exploring, you might meet her on your way. Drop the lines and go.

I work at a hotel and often make connections with guests. Sometimes they're just passing through, and sometimes they stay for a while. I get to hear lots of different life experiences and stories. Many people will just tell me what is going on in their life, kind of like a mini therapy session.
I can tell you this, wanting to be loved is universal. For a long time I felt ashamed for wanting to be loved and married, especially because I could not seem to find anyone who wanted that with me. Was I broken?
No, it just takes time and yes, it's absolutely hard to be alone sometimes. Sometimes being alone doesn't feel freeing, it feels... well, alone. For me, I let my mind spiral and can end up in some pretty low places.
    Some thoughts for you:
    - It's okay to have waves of grief
    - It's okay to feel whatever feelings you feel
    - I find a lot of solace in being out in the community, volunteering, going to lectures, hell sometimes I just walk around the grocery store to feel like I had some human contact.
    - Be careful with your heart. You deserve to be loved well. Its hard to know how to protect your heart and allow someone in simultaneously...its something I'm still trying to figure out.
I'm a fan of Embark With Clark
    Much love your way.

I’m so sorry Clark to hear you two split up. While we love Temptress (such an awesome boat) the channel has never been just about Temptress, it’s been about you, your life and your adventures as well as your generous sharing of your valuable knowledge. “Sailing Temptress” as the channel name in my opinion doesn’t do it justice. As others have said, you said it in the beginning of every video “Clark on Temptress” is the most fitting I think. However “Clarks Adventures” works too. But I think it’s important to be “Clarks”.

It’s hard to find anyone anymore at our ages. Men don’t trust women and women don’t trust men. This division is by social media placing views, influencers creating divide. Then there is financial hypergamy, kids, grand children, changing life priorities as health life issues awaiting to die. Loneliness is real out on the water vs docks. I’ve had many quit sailing to return to dwellings to in a hope to find a mate that never materialized. It’s very very very hard. So dysfunctional like millions of people wanting to connect but repelled each other like magnets pushing away from each other. It’s a small 🔑 key to the right door that may be a lifetime now in search after 60 years old. It’s like the planets and the solar system has to align. 1 in a million, trillions to a possibility of connecting. Good luck though.

The teak deck did it. I knew it would. I think "The Log of the Temptress" or "S.V. Temptress" - something along that line. "Clark on Temptress" is something you've said in videos dozens of times, and might be good. Sadly, sailing itself is nowhere near the eye-draw that maintenance is, but instruction is always good, so maybe sail to Greece - get the boat ready for an offshore passage - make a log day by day - problems, ups, downs, etc. Then arrive in Greece and show your viewers what you see. Best of luck.

Here are a few suggestion for the name. I am in the camp that you need to maintain some form up historical familiarity rather than a totally new brand: (1) Clark & Temptress's Adventure (2) The New Clark and Temptress Travels (3) SV Temptress and YOU (4) Clark's Journey with Temptress Continues.
    Here is what Gemini suggested:
    Keeping the Adventure Theme
Clark's Adventures: (Straightforward and maintains the core brand identity.)
Solo Adventures with Clark: (Clearly indicates a solo venture while keeping the adventure theme.)
The Next Chapter with Clark: (Suggests a new beginning while referencing the past.)
    Building on the Existing Brand
Clark's World: (Implies a broader scope of adventures.)
From Emily & Clark to Clark Alone: (Acknowledges the past while emphasizing the new direction.)
Clark's Journey: (Simple, yet effective in conveying the idea of a personal exploration.)
    Creating a New Identity
Clark Unleashed: (Implies a new sense of freedom and exploration.)
No Limits with Clark: (Suggests a fearless approach to adventures.)
Clark's Wild Ride: (Conveys a sense of excitement and unpredictability.)

Sorry to hear of the breakup, it's not easy unless you simply don't care about the other person. Hopefully what you have left are some great memories. I can honestly say, I have been with some amazing women, and one lousy one. You know, when you are driving down the freeway and you look up at a billboard and there is an ad for a gym and the woman on the ad is wearing a bikini and you smile and think, "ya, that's my girlfriend", well, you have to say to yourself, you have been a pretty lucky guy.
It gets harder as we get older, when you are 20 all that matters is you like them and you have fun, then in your 50's, 60's, there are a lot more boxes to check.
Hopefully, you get your bearings and find someone whose company you enjoy.

Clark, Ran across your videos just a couple of days ago while researching a battery plant for my van. Was binge watching them & was sad to see, that this one's title wasn't clickbait.
Women usually get into camping, sailing, & sports, because their husband, boyfriend, or children are into it & would not be interested on their own. It's difficult to tell the difference, as ostensibly they could show equal enthusiasm.
Might be good for you to go old school & have a "woman in every port", rather than searching for that rare woman who likes camping, sailing, & sports on her own. Eventually, you might just run into one. Easy to say but not easy to feel, but for Emily to abide the lifestyle for 9 years is pretty good, so she was pretty fond of you, so it's great, that you can still respect one another & help one another as friends.
When I was growing up in the 1960's & 1970's, I had 4 brothers & we did a lot of outdoor things & sports . It wasn't until, I was in my 40's, that I fully appreciated the fact, that my mother actually liked doing sports & camping type things on her own, & that Dad had recognized this, & that's why he married her & stayed married to her, for almost 60 years, until she passed away. I feel blessed as a man to have had such a mother, but admittedly, it probably delayed me a bit in figuring out "normal" women!

Its rare to find someone who wants the sailboat life full time, especially a lady. Everyone wants to go for a couple of weeks before returning to their normal life. Consider offering to let patreons cruise for a week or two before another one comes for a visit. You will get more patreons as people sign up for the "reality TV vacation" and you will get some help running the boat and a companion to impress with your travels. It can work until some lady comes along.

No need for apologizes Clark, any viewers who feel it's required aren't worth paying attention to.
From experience, fortunately no kids involved, much easier to get over a long relationship without them, but still tough & emotional all the same.
I also held onto the "friendship" idea with the ex, wasn't healthy. Dated, searching to replace/rebound the companionship lost, met many still dealing with their own breakup emotions, lacking trust, plus others who were simply losers, wanting someone to take care of them, incl financially.
In the end like any habit, one day I just gave up, got over it, been on my own for nearly 20 years, & love it.
No one criticizing me, not cleaning up after anyone, do & watch what I like when I like, wouldn't have it any other way. But like anything, getting good at it comes with time. 💜

Since Emily has left and Clark is continuing the adventure with his boat "Tempress," it would be a good idea for Clark to rebrand his channel to reflect his personal journey and sailing lifestyle while still maintaining his established brand recognition. Here are a few ideas that keep the essence of his sailing adventures and his boat, Tempress:
    1. Clark's Tempress Adventures
This name highlights Clark as the primary figure of the journey while incorporating the boat's name, Tempress, as a key part of the identity.
    2. Sailing with Clark and Tempress
A straightforward rebranding that emphasizes both Clark and his boat Tempress as the new focus of the adventures.
    3. Clark’s Nautical Odyssey
This evokes a sense of grand adventure while still keeping it personal to Clark and his journey.
    4. Tempress Sailing Chronicles
Focusing more on the boat's name, this option suggests ongoing stories and adventures aboard Tempress, with Clark at the helm.
    5. Tempress Voyages with Clark
A slightly more classic feel, focusing on the voyage aspect and the partnership between Clark and his boat.
    6. Clark and the Tempress - Sail and Beyond
This gives a sense of future possibilities, highlighting that the journey is far from over and can evolve over time.
These suggestions maintain the core of Clark’s sailing brand while allowing for the departure of Emily without losing too much continuity. It's also important for Clark to update his channel description to reflect the change in crew while still focusing on the exciting and adventurous content his audience loves.

"Clarks adventures"is good as it is! Enjoy Sweden 🇸🇪 (left it for 🇺🇸 at 20 years of age). The west coast is awesome and east coast too, but I'm biased being from the west coast of Sweden. Thanks for making sense of electricity. And other topics.

All the best to you and Emily. You shared your nomadic magic with us and brightened our lives through your adventures. Glad you can remain friends and I am sure you will both flourish in new and as yet unknown ways. That’s what makes a well-lived life - highs and lows, pain and pleasure, light and dark. You are a great man. Looking forward to what’s ahead for you.

Your videos have been a great source of valuable information from a hands on guy which is great. Completely agree on the Clark on Temptress which is simple and straightforward. Hope you have a great time in Europe. If you come by a little town south of France on the Med called la Ciotat, I'll be glad to meet you and show you around. Thanks for your great help in all what you share with people loving boats and seas as much as you do!

I think "Clark's Adventures" can expand your channel and give you optionality outside of the sailing genre where ever your wanderings take you, no matter what you do and where you take us. People who know you, trust you and like you will follow your journey, some will leave and new ones will join in. The algorithms will adjust just like we will and things may get uncertain at times, but that's the nature of adventure. See you when we see you !

Clark- here is your new channel name- **Clark on Temptress**
It’s simple but yet retains your past historical achievements (as well as name/brand recognition) while indicating a new chapter in your life of adventures.
    Just a thought- Dan

Sad to hear about your "Newest Adventure" and no sappy advice about one door closing. I wanted to express my thanks for your direction on testing my alternator last week, turns out the gauges aren't reading correctly, along with other gauges on the dash. Fixing that is the next step. Keep up with all your advice and inspiration.

Sorry to hear that, but like you said life goes on and for both of you. Best of luck for you both . Since you travel a lot my suggestion would be to find someone that can travel without a visa, which is a pain. American, Canadian since your American but the country that needs the least visas is Finland. Not too far from Sweden where you're going and a lot of blondes there. :)
Everybody or lots want to live on a boat and cruise the world, but boats are not a small condo and yes at some time you will be in a big storm and boats are like little prison once at sea you cannot go for a walk to cool off. Make sure the potential girl friend knows this and also knows that when at sea the captain is a dictator and to not question but to act immediately because all life on the boat depends on swift responds.

Somethings just end, not the way we ever thought it would end. Getting over it? I don't think anyone gets over a relationship that was a long term one. You move on, but you always take that glance behind you and wonder of what could have been. Women seem to handle it better in most cases, not sure why but they do. You are an excellent teacher in your video's, and I have learned plenty on subjects I thought I knew. Rest, regroup and take it slow. As the song goes, hold on loosely but don't let go. Be well, John

Sorry to hear, I've been in the single life for a lot of years. I wish you better luck than I have with trying to find a gal that would sail away with me. I don't know the secret, unfortunately. I retire in less than a year and figured I'd be off on my own. I recently met a Thai gal that's been in the States for 6 years. So far so good. Got my fingers crossed. Wish you all the best.

Keep up your good work just like all of those battery manufactures and fish in the sea. There’s many out there. I just found your videos about a week or two ago and I’ve been looking at the batteries and I found this one on Amazon. It’s called XRH new energy. and they seem like they’re pretty good and it said 280 W hour 24 V battery and I’m sure you’ll find whoever you’re looking for. And you being on the sailing boat, you can go wherever in the world to.👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽

If you're gonna do other types of adventures not just aboard Temptress, best not to call the channel Sailing Temptress coz that's gonna limit you.
    Clark's Adventures
    Then have Playlists
    1) Sailing Europe
    2) Boat Maintenance
    3) Battery Systems
    Etc ...
Sorry to hear about the split up. I believe there are more and more women out there wanting to explore an alternative lifestyle. Be patient, she'll usually show up when you least expect it. 😊

    Hello from Greece!
I would go with "Clark's Temptress".
As for coming to Greece, you will be welcomed by the people in whatever place you decide to settle.
However, dealing with the officials, acquiring living permit, Is a totally different ball game! Yes, you can apply, and (at some point) you'll get it but you really have to prepare yourself for TOTALLY DIFFERENT level of bureaucracy!!!

Finding the next partner hasn't been easy so still looking 5 years on and have very different expectations. Shared adventures are much better. Maybe i should try TH-cam? 😂I suggest Clarks Tempting Adventures as you may not be sailing as much. Good luck. Wish i had the time for your business ideas, im def a business guy.

Saddened to hear ya’ll have split, but we love you both still and look forward to more news. When you are planning Greece, let us help you. We know tons of folks on Crete and I took 3 ladies on a two week tour in Sept ‘22 for very reasonable cost. I’d love to suggest your agenda. In the meantime, hugs to you both. As for names, I think Clark’s Adventures would describe it, but I’d like to see Temptress in there somehow so we know she’s still in the picture. How about Temptress and Clark’s Adventures?
