Adam I found this to be better than the stuff that is on regular TV. In addition to watching an artist in metal I enjoy your commentary. It's a great explanation to show a high school student when they moan about why do they need mathematics. Keep it up.

I can see you as a little kid. Watching Dad and GrandDad. They must have answered your thousand questions. How lucky you are.
I love how you are so at ease. Explaining what is going on in your mind.
I think we all absolutely love who you are.
Not just your remarkable skill set or confidence.
But your willingness to be honest (not pretensive)
Must say, i too, love your dog checking on you to make sure you are ok and still there.
Thank you. Thank you. For sharing with us.

I'm just going back to watch some of your original videos. I don't know how I ran across your videos as I'm not a machinist, but I really enjoy watching them. In this case I heard of key way broaching but I've never seen it being done. I didn't know there was a machine just for doing that either! On another note, you sir, are a master when it comes to stick welding. You do with a stick welder what other people can't even do with a MIG. I really appreciate that you are recording some of the jobs you are doing. I've been looking at the beginning of the week for your latest videos. Please continue making these videos.

I'm pleased that your GoPro is working so well, and that your instincts for camera angles is so good. Many thanks for taking the time to film and share. Back in the day I was a moderately useful engineer myself. +Ron McKinney Hey Ron, I think about both my Dad and Grandad everyday, especially when I walk into my shop. I would have none of what you see in my videos if it wasn't for there guidance. I was fortunate that my dad give me all the machines and tools to keep on doing what we do. He was just getting to enjoy sitting on the sideline watching me to the work when I lost him. I feel proud to have turned out to be a pretty decent machinist.

Thanks for responding Adam. On my birthdays, more than at other times, I think of my father. I was fifteen when I met him for the first time, up in Middle Tennessee. We worked together for a while, hauling fruit and produce for his younger brother's market. About the time I enlisted in the marines, he got on with the Tennessee Valley Authority constructing powerline towers. His sudden death on his 62nd birthday, which was to have been his first day of retirement, altered the course of my life so I can't help thinking of him when his birthday or mine rolls around.

Yes, I enjoyed it very much. Learned quite a bit. I like how you are deliberate in your actions and speech, not a lot of philosophy and rambling. Very clear, easy to follow, and I really appreciate you taking the time to make this. Some videos are so hard to watch, even though they are actually importing something of value, the makers poor communication skills make you want to scream: "Just get on with it". Yours was very clear, easy to understand, and plenty of detail. A++

I enjoy watching your videos. Machine work is fascinating to me. reading mics was a bit of trouble for me, all those fine increments. and it is a necessity for this kind of work. At work we had big equipment that when broke down we would call the local machine shop to make a part - usually the shafts on gear boxes. They had the manufacture drawings on file so they could do the work when they got the call. Yes, it was usually in the middle of the night. They did a terrific job too. keep the videos coming

That was a factory made bushing from Dumont Broach, so I felt confident that the slot was milled dead nuts in the center of the shaft, Simply set the existing slot down and square on the bottom of the vise and it should be 180 degrees away, as long as you center the shaft properly in the vise. I normally give the part a few bumps with my lead to make sure it down and even on the bottom.

You do great work, like watching your video's. Really learning a lot on how they do that.
    Thanks a Million.

Hey Adam- I'm still catching up on the oldies- This 2part series was excellent, lots of good learning points there that I'll refer back to when I have my machines in a while- You do a great job, and I am constantly impressed by the mix of your high degree of skill, calm and easy going demeanor, helpful tips, and the fact that you always overcome any challenges, tough or not. I'll be re-watching the rotary table series soon, dam that was a great one- Exceptional. Like the other guy in those comments said, If there was an Academy Awards for TH-cam, that series should be in and win it- Wish I could go to Stan's, maybe next year- Thanks much Brother- Paul

Never thought of using Pam, but I'll give it a try. We have a few cans in the pantry. Toolpost is a Multifix. Thanks for the comment Donald.
