I happened to have a day off and was walking past the cinema and noticed JB was playing. This was pre internet and I hadn’t really heard much about the movie… but I saw it was a QT film… and gaaaawd dang… did I remember Pulp Fiction, which I’d seen 3 years prior, also by chance. I knew I was in for an enjoyable ride as soon as that 70s beat started and both the tone of the film and choice of shots let me realize that another masterpiece of story telling was going to unfold… a quiet “little” movie with excellent character pieces for everyone involved. Just a pure and subtle delight.
This was fantastic - why would we want to hear either of them talk about anything else, other than this intricate process they've devoted their lives to - tho Quentin's also hugely engaging when he talks about movies in general - but this was touching on some deep stuff
This is much better than the interview where Robert Deniro acts like never met Tarantino and never heard of Jackie Brown. Bob has a lot to remember anyway, he's excused
@cleftturnip7774 He used to be a great actor.Until late 80's. A bit like certain bands I used to love started being mediocre. But they can point to art they made that was Great. Tarantino is also similarly overrated.
Guess I’m one of the few who has jackie brown at tops for fave movie. Would’ve been interesting to see deniro as max cherry. Also did deniro get to say much on this video?
De Niro wanted to play Max Cherry but QT already had Robert Forster in mind specifically for that role, which he killed. Sometimes tho I wonder how it would've looked had De Niro took that role instead of Louis.
i remember hearing some clip where i think it was deniro's agent talking to tarintino and deniro was having a fit and the agent was trying to talk it out with tarantino
Totally. This is a long 11 minute interview where Tarantino talks for most of it. He's so extra. Deniro seems pretty chill; I'm sure it's pretty draining to be around Tarantino. Was wondering why they haven't worked together since, but this interaction seems to give the answer. He probably finds him a bit annoying.
can we all just admit jackie brown was a dud haha gotta be deniros worst role ever. im a fan of like resevoir dogs, pulp fiction, the godftather part 2, goodfellas, cape fear, king of comedy. jackie brown ehhhhhhhhhhhh
I don't think DeNiro was crap in it, but I agree it wasn't a great role no. The role and his work in the film doesn't measure up to his work in any of his most impressive contributions to cinema like raging bull, heat, taxi driver etc. But it's a decent film nonetheless.
He was fine but I agree that it's not my fav De Niro role. He originally wanted to play Max Cherry and it would've been interesting to see him in play that character instead of Louis.
My fav Tarantino movie!

Truly a great film
Tarantinos best movie
I love the soundtrack.
@@UShistorymatters amazing soundtrack!
'Is she dead?'
'Pretty much'
"What you mean pretty much? Is she dead or no?"

Thanks for sharing this moment! Very cool insight.

What interview are you referring to?
two geniuses!
Robert is a good actor. Far from a genius.

@@StratsRUs I disagree about Tarantino. But each to their own.
@@StratsRUscasino heat and good fellas are iconic 90s de niro performance
The genius who wears a mask outdoors in NYC in summer 2024 🤣
Appreciate the upload. When I first heard he was interviewing Deniro I thought the interview would've been...well, better.
Let me tell ya. This is DeNiro turned up to ten compared to some of his interviews. Not the most engaging guy off-screen.
@@Brolo214 lol true that.
I think Tarantino wrapped it up early because he knows De Niro wasn't going to say much.
No I think this was a screening of the movie so Tarantino and De Niro were just briefly talking about it before it was screened.
DeNiro is one of, if not the most notoriously bad/ boring/ unengaging A-List actor interviews for decades now.
Thanks so much for posting! 🙂
The bong in Jackie Brown, my friend had. I saw that with that friend on Christmas day...
Louisssssssss
Priceless.
Tarantinos most mature film. Wish he'd made more like this. I've heard that the next film he'll make will be science fiction.
That would be amazing!
No that was an idea for a miniseries star trek
Great video! Hoping to review this movie on my channel soon now!
yeah nah i wasnt bothered about his old shoes, i was too busy looking at the girl.

I could listen to hours of them talking
Any chance you have the whole panel??😊
i wonder if tarantino is already in the process of writing his new final film and what is it going to be about since the movie critic was scrapped
There's always been some tension between DeNiro and Tarantino. You can see Quentin wants to talk about it 🤣🤣

De Niro doesn’t like to talk and Tarantino likes to talk too much. This is the same as every interview they’ve ever done.
@@jacobjohngomezThey didn’t like each other during filming.
Yeah this interview is a little awkward as well.
Why does it say ‘ deniro con ‘ lol
it's a deniro conversation - but also he played a ex-con
cuz there’s a deniro convention going on in tribeca right now. they’re screening a bunch of his work and he’s showing up for some of it.
Must mean CONservative 😂
Louis got too high, that’s what fucked him up.
Defo not my fave Tarantino film
De Niro is an incredible actor, just a real shame about the politics
What did he say about Trump that hurt your feelings?
And don't tell me it's not about Trump. We both know it's about Trump.
Let me guess, DeNiro couldn't help but find some reason to cry about Trump during this as always?
I mean if you've watched the video, then you should know.
Grow up. Shut up & listen to one of the most important artists in your lifetime.
You’re the only one crying about Trump
I know you are a sophisticated kinda guy and all, but can you take your head out of your ass?
Someone got Trump stuck on the brain 😂

Think you just outed yourself as a dumb dumb with this comment and that you have zero taste, get your buds checked.
nope, jackie brown is severely underrated sorry

Nope, one of Tarantino's best films. De Niro's character wasn't a great character but De Niro did a memorable enough job
