Kate is one of the most inspiring and empathetic human beings who I’ve ever met. Her passion shows through in whatever she does, but most of all her love, particularly the love for her close, warm & supportive family.. she is a very special human being, and we’re blessed to think of her as our friend.
My mom is 83 years old and still quilts and they are beautiful. She creates her own designs and has won so many ribbons for her quilts. She has even had a quilt she created tour the world for remembrance of 9/11. She has always been a crafty person, painter, woodworker, gardener, ceramics etc. I'm very proud of her. I'm glad I was blessed with some of her talent.
Love our Kate, she is a wonderful lady. Love to watch her cooking dinner, baking, gardening, quilting, sewing and spinning. Wonderful children (in-laws included) just a great talented lady. I told a friend that I wish I could go to England and stay with Kate for awhile so I could learn so much for. Her. 73 years old and I don't believe that will happen, but can watch and dream about learning from her. Love you Kate, your cats and the Lime green sofa, can't forget the beautiful chairs . God bless you sweet Lady.❤🙏🌻🐈⬛🐈
Kate is a jewel! Enjoyed her videos since the beginning. Delightful lady with a beautiful family and very special life that she shares so willingly. Peaceful offerings.
What a treat!!! I have been watching Kate for a very long time. Her way of being with her own creative process has really inspired and allowed me to give myself permission to just have fun and see what happens!
Steven! I could not have been more delighted upon finding your interview with our Ms. KATE! THANKYOU! she is my favourite place to spend time with. I have been inspired in so many ways by her lovely approach to life. Connie Bunlitz B. C. Canada
What a surprise I was delighted to come by accident this interview. Brighten my evening , such a lovely person with so much inspiration to offer us who listen and learn from her and family members. Just love them. From Canada.
What a wonderful interview with "our" Kate. Her videos are inspirational and a place of gentleness. Now I will spend a bit of time getting to know your channel. Thank you.
Steven, thank you for recording this from your retreat so those of us who did not attend could see it. Kate is such a delightful lady. When I grow up, I want to be like Kate !
Delightful interview with Kate of the Last Homely House East of the Sea, she is a wonderful person and one of my absolute favorites to follow. And we love Cat Rita even though she was jiggling the camera today. I'm encouraged by her inquisitive personality and that she advocates for such a variety of interests. Appeals to my "squirrel" nature!
Aww, so good to see Kate in a different light. Although she's the same when ever I see her video's. But being questioned by you gives it a different angle. Well done.
I loved this interview, it really brought out our Kate. I must see a video everyday. She is a constant source of inspiration to me. I love to see the freedom she enjoys and her family closeness is wonderful.
Really fun interview with Kate. I introduced my mother to Kate a year or two ago and though we live far from one another we always touch Sundays to let one another know Kate's video is up. I want to put a plug in for the wonderful and very sweet Erica Selman. She create lovely quilts and adorable teddy bears. And of course, Donna Jordan or Jordan Fabrics. Bravo to our terrific quilting community. Thanks again for the interview.
Hi Kate, I am very new to your channel but want to say how much I am enjoying my visits to The Last Homeley House and garden. Such relaxing viewing and as a Quilter. I am learning from youf tips and hints. Thank you.
Rita is so polite, no bum shots, but I miss Normas comfort, being conscious of her welcome, and rushing into frame when you said "hello u tube subscribers"
Oh,unusually useful algorithm, thank you! It brought me to this interview a year late but, having followed her for four years now, I learned more about "what makes her tick" from this post. You know the old thing, who would you most like to spend a day with? Kate, every time for me!
I've never heard someone, who while describing themselves, so accurately described me. I love to learn new things but my family couldn't understand going from one thing to another. Great interview. Kate has a new fan.
This interview was great! Kate is a “National Treasure” and anyone who doesn’t follow her on TH-cam is missing out! There is always room on the lime green sofa!
I have to agree with Kate. I am not someone who finishes my current project before I start another. I also have several projects going at any one time. I, too, am a "Jack of all trades, master of nothing", with all of interests I've chased. Kate is a warm, interesting person I just love watching her, and listening to, and sharing her family pets, friends, and crafts. Thank you for featuring Kate.
Ah Kate. What a lucky thing to see you interviewed. Now more people will be sitting on the LGS. You always make my heart sing with your talent. Take care of yourself is #1 for your family and for us too. Look forward to seeing you every SUNDAY. kudos to cat Rita for the side fun too.
Thanks for sharing this interview. I'm a self-taught quilter. After I finished my first quilt I told my husband that I wanted to throw it in the street and run over it with the truck. 😂😂😂 I made every mistake possible. But I kept at it until I made several beautiful quilt tops. My motto has always been "where there is a will there is a way".
I was so exited to come across this interview with Kate-and cat Rita 😊. I love her videos. She is such a warm, talented, and amazing person! I I’ve now subscribed to your channel, and I look forward to both watching future videos and catching up on previous ones! Muskoka ON 🇨🇦
So delightful. I’m bummed I missed this live. I’m retired and would have liked to say “hi” to Kate. Such a dear, down-to-earth lady. We’ve so much in common, as well as our love of Arne &Carlos. I currently have 4 projects going on at once! 😮 Thanks for posting.
❤Oh Kate , I have only just found you 2/2024; and I cannot thank you enough for having this channel it is the best of fun. I will keep watching every day! When my son comes hope from school, he will put me on your Patron area where I can support your wonderful work. Thank you so much for teaching me so many wonderful things! You are amazing!
I love following Kates channel which I happened upon quite by chance. She’s my kind of artist! I love working on a number of projects at a time. Totally depends on the mood I’m in at the time. She’s absolutely delightful. Thank you for having her on. I’m now following your channel as well which I also came across by chance! 🎉
Kate is absolutely lovely in every way possible, from her happy smiles that light up a room, to 😮her breath-taking mannerisms and her pure generosity of spirit. This perfection,is topped off 🎉🎉 with a captivating voice and accent .that carries us away. My mum used to make me laugh when she’d say something like, “What a voice! I could listen to her reading the phone ☎️ book all day, never mind a script.” Right again,Mum. 🤗😎💝 (You’d have loved to watch and listen to Kate, too, Mum. I know.❤) Thank you for bringing us this great interview, and my gratitude to you, Kate, for you yours and Ant’s wonderfully creative videos, too.😅 Cheers from Canada 🇨🇦!
What fun! Even though I just saw the program July 19. I love watching Kate's TH-cam channel. And it is like visiting a friend Thank you Steve. Marion in Oregon.
Always wanted to make a quilt so 8,years ago I decided to try as the only way to guarantee failure is not trying. 6,years ago I saw an ad., by a guild looking for members. It was a long way from where I lived but I went. It was a horrible experience. Went back a second time that was worse on taking fabric out of my bag the woman next to me said put that thing away it's giving me a headache.Went home packed up the fabric and posted it to a charity in the UK. Kate, is encouraging and encouragement is all a person needs. I'm trying to start again but can't get motivated. I live in a dead zone where crafts are concerned.
How positively rude of another human being to talk to a person that way. There are narrow minded so called crafty people that are pure snobs. My sister lost her husband 6 years ago. About two years ago her daughter me I have tried to get her mind off of her husbands death. She has never sewn anything and at the age of 78 , we got her started putting scraps of fabric together to make a whole piece of fabric. We had some of the craziest patterns, all kinds of colors . I cannot begin to tell you what this non creative non sewer started to put together. She had no sewing skill, no boundaries and the pieces of fabric she put together were turned into quilted purses . I am a sewer all my life, and I do not have the skills that she has in this department. She looks at fabric, puts pieces of all shapes and colors together, but with much thought . No inhibitions , because she had no formal training in any sewing skills. The purses are now being sold in gift shops . Her daughter does the quilting and making of the bag. Without her mom doing this creative sewing, there would be no crazy Frankenstein bags. So you ignore any snide snobbish remarks and you do your thing. Do not let people define your creativity. Who knows what creative gift you have that needs to be unleashed. You go girl. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
Oh Janet I felt the same way about quilters and their rudeness. Keep watching Kate and do your own thing. Really there are no quilt police. Do what you enjoy and buy fabric that speaks to you. Watch you tube videos and get inspiration.. I love watching Kate and her free style of creativity.
I just subscribed. I stopped to watch this video because I love Kate and have watched her for a couple of years. I like the way you interviewed her. Now I’m going to go binge watch your tutorials. 😀
