Several years ago I was very lucky to stay in Brisbane with a friend from my school years. It is the most beautiful, exciting place I have ever had the pleasure to visit. I enjoyed every minute of my stay. I recommend it highly. If you are a resident how wonderful for you because I wish I was!

Little Grey Box absolutely. Like when I visit Sydney every couple of years, everyone seems stressed out and not very social. By the time I arrive back in Brisbane airport and to the air train, everyone just seems more laidback and friendlier.

Oh, thank you so much!! We had the pleasure of visiting Sweden for the first time a few years ago (in summer) and absolutely loved it! I've never seen anywhere quite as magical as the archipelago spots we visited (Utö, Sandhamn... amazing!). Australia would be very lucky to have you and Brisbane is such a wonderfully, livable city. Coming from these long Swedish winters, you'd love our blue sky winters! They're pretty special. Yes, I think it is hard to immigrate to Australia but I hope it happens as seamlessly as possible for you and your family! Have a great day and thanks for watching, glad the video could give you a spark :) Phoebe x

@@travelforphoebe Yes, agreed, Sweden is quite the place in the summer. But that's just it. When summer occurs, it's beautiful. This summer though, +14C and rain, every other day. And soon we're back to fall, with more rain, wind and cold... Summer in Sweden is always a gamble and it's rarely longer than 1,5-2 months. Soooo... ;) You might see the appeal of moving from this country? Hehe! Thank you once again, have a lovely day!

If you plan to come. Make Brisbane your central hub. Stay at least 4 days. Beautiful beaches south and north. Amazing rainforest 30 min drive from the city. Mt Glorious. To the East is stunning Moreton Bay. Full of dolphins turtles and Dugong. Brisbane is Australia's most under rated city. In Brisbane try Roma Street Gardens. Mt Cootha lookout and Botanical gardens. City botanical gardens. Cultural Centre has Museums galore. South bank Gardens. Try the suburban centres such as west end, Paddington, new farm and bulimba. Catch a city cat ferry and cruise the river. Eat at Eat Street. Try rock climbing at kangaroo point. Go to lone pine to hug a koala. Explore Toowong Cemetery. Do a ghost tour of Boggo Road Jail. Visit the Commissariat Store museum for a taste of early life. Go visit historic Newstead house. Try the Bulimba Creek walking tracks at Carindale. Vistit the many bushlands around the city including Boondall wetlands. You will be surprised how much there is to do in this city let alone the nightlife and all the normal things.
Many tourists say they wish they had planned to stay longer.
Brissy is the most Australian city in the country. Melbourne is European and Sydney is cosmopolitan. Brisbane is laid back and welcoming. People smile and are happy to chat with strangers. There is very little graffiti as the council clean it off. Brisbane is very clean and modern yet still has Australis most grandest old buildings. Brisbane is more and more embracing it's subtropical climate. Many lovely flowering trees and plants. The river is brown. It's a tidal river so it will never be blue or clear. It is home to 2000 bull sharks. That's why no one swims in it. There are many Eddy's and rips under the surface you can't see. Sunrise and sunsets are stunning. Blue Sky's are common with big puffy white clouds. It's perfect weather in winter June to August. The best time of year is September. Stunning days. Summer can be stiffly hot and humid with spectacular thunderstorms most afternoons.
Most of all the same comment most tourists say is they can't believe how green Brisbane is. Some have said it's a city of forests. It was voted one of the most beautiful cities of the world for it's mix of grand sandstone buildings mixed with gleaming glass skyscrapers and it's gardens and flamboyant color. Enjoy

I was wondering do you base yourself in Brisbane between travelling and doing the blogs? Would you say Brisbane is a pretty appealing cool city for single people to fit in aswell just I'm actually considering applying it looks amazing. I miss Brisbane, was a backpacker in 2010/11 and left just before it flooded for Sydney. The city had a nice feel about it, the CBD was manageable by foot, yet big enough. Brissy was going through a construction boom when I visited, many skyscrapers and apartments being constructed. The urban sprawl is huge compared to European cities though. The state of Queensland is stunning with rainforest and mountains inland, amazing beaches and small towns North of Brissy, like Airlie, Hervey Bay and Noosa . Never visited the Gold Coast, by-passed it for Byron. I was travelling down the East coast where I eventually ended up in Melbourne for work, another nice yet big city, the climate was not sub tropical like Brissy.

That was so enjoyable to watch. You chose the best place to stay, right there at South Bank. Its certainly worth swimming at the man made beach, with dressing rooms close by. Yes, so much to see. There are also free lunchtime concerts at the City Hall on Tuesdays at 12 noon. Its called the Lord Mayors Lunchtime concerts. Worth seeing who is playing … can be from jazz to classical and more.

So much recognition from my trip to Australia back in December'19/January'20. It's still feels unreal I've been here just 2 months ago! I liked the quietness in South Bank and I loved the public swimming pool🥰. Also the parks were a great way to relax. Especially the public chairs in the park next to the Ferris Wheel. It's a great way to escape the busy CBD in which the traffic was terrible. I didn't know CityHopper was free, I used the $2,70 CityCat all the time. Also, I liked how the Kangaroo Point bridge was completely covered in blue light during night😍. It seems Brisbane is even more beautiful by night than by day. I love to have a kitchenette in my hotel as well. Fun fact: I slept in Oaks Felix on Felix Street, you may guess once why I booked this property😇. I would love to do a helicopter ride, I have never done such thing in my life so far🥺, I'm gonna save it for my New Zealand trip in the future🤗. Thank you for giving me a flashback to my best holiday ever and have a great week! 🤙
PS: Just in case you're interested in my experience in Australia, including Brisbane, you can check it out here www.polarsteps.com/FelixCattenstart/2316595-australia-vic-tas-nsw-qld-perth

I used to work right on Mary Street when I had an office job still :) So glad you had a good time when you visited. That Polar Steps thing is so cool!! It looks like you had the best time - I really liked seeing our city through your photos :D P x
