Had Pacific Sailfin and Mimic in 180 for the last couple years , about a week ago $350 on facebook added a Purple, Blue Hippo, and Magnificent Foxface. Ordered a custom 270 96x27x24 so I think will be big enough. Largest fish by potential is a Koran Angel but she is only a 3-4” after maybe a year but was small.
Black tang Gem tang Purple tang Yellow tang Scopas tang Pacific sail fin Red Sea sail fin I believe this is every Zebrasoma species and all are available to the trade.
My purple tang is a sweetheart. Never in a fight and have it for years. Leaves my Blue tang and Naso. Even when I had my foxface (with dot) who was fighting with everyone he was the only one getting a long. Now having a magnificant foxface who also lives in peace in my aquarium (replacement of my yellow dotted foxface). Let's see how it will go when I introduce a Acanthurus lineatus.
Every fish has its own personality. Just like every child from the same parents will behave differently. Also the power dynamics continues to evolve as the community and set up changes
My dream zebrasoma tangs are: zebrasoma rostratum (The true black long nose tang) Aka the new ‘holy grail fish’ Zebrasoma desjardini (The desjardini/Red sea sailfin tang) Zebrasoma xanthrum (The purple/Red sea purple tang) And zebrasoma gemmatum (The gem tang) My least favourite zebrasoma tangs are: Zebrasoma velifer (The sailfin tang) Zebrasoma Flavescens (The yellow tang) Zebrasoma scopas (The scopas/Brown tang)
@@i_cant_think8947 I'm surprise you have the purple tang on your like list then, in my experience they are the biggest jerks among not just zebrasoma, but all tangs!
@@i_cant_think8947 Fascinating, I believe every fish has its own personality and won't count anything out. my scopas have all been good, but have had terrible purples

Yellow tangs.... became so so expensive these days... saw some for 700 euro... crazy...
They are crazy now, due to the fishing ban in Hawaii. Hopefully you can find some captive bred ones
This was really informative, thank you!
Thank you so much!

@@Stevenliu9 yeah, I had a scopas and it beat up any newcomer to death but the purple was the opposite
