Thats cuz the first op wasnt intended. They just didnt finish the op in time cuz they had a lot of problems with the broadcast and with the animators. Thats why the anime is in hiatus state right now

I thought they didn't want to spoil the show with the op so they changed it up. Ofcourse they r a new studio and this is their first anime adaptation but still kinda sad to see that they r being overloaded with work and are having even more broadcasting issues 😞

Actually the original OP changed every episode to show seasons of whatever the previous episode was, so it wasn't just episode 1 scenes the entire time
I love op 2 better, but I kinda miss how the og ended, watching the mc running away from the zombies with a full smile on his face was so charming to me
Good to remember that the ending of the first version is literally taken from episode 1, they just changed the background and added the zombies more cclose to each other.
I can appreciate the choice of scenes to sync with the opening for the first episode (and others up to episode 8). But episode 9 onwards just feels so much more complete and elevated to the next level with the choreography!

It's so cool seeing how the 1st one conveys his relief and fighting for what he wants, whereas the 2nd one conveys his enjoyment and making the most of what he has in front of him!
I love the goofiness of the second op, but I also feel like OP 1 plays into how nuts Akira seems at first, which was what drew me personally into the show.
Version 1 was great, but version 2 is a billion times better! It’s so fun with personality. And I love seeing the zombies dance like it’s Thriller. I really hope they finish the season. I LOVE THIS SHOW!

I saw version 2 at Anime NYC this year for the screening of the 10th episode. I loved how this guy next to me and everyone else started clapping to the song. I love this one in comparison to the first couple of episodes. It’s way better than thriller and coincidentally I recently lost my job
I love both intros but I do prefer the first one. People think zombies walking around and paint behind splashed on the background is boring but if you did pay attention, that scene shows the different types of zombies. Slow, aggressive, fast etc. The second version did made me laugh. It’s just so funny and I do love the dancing parts as well as when the zombies were using their phones on the train. For the ending, I prefer the first version. It shows the zombies chasing him and he’s happy. Even if it is a crisis, he finally has a break from work and is finally free. It shows how happy he is even though there’s a zombie apocalypse and it’s the kind of anime I’ve been wanting to see. I’m glad this exist and I give my thanks to the company that decided to make this master piece into an anime.
only thing I really miss is the sequence from 0:54 to 0:58. tell me that doesn't convey the premise and feel of the show perfectly in only 4 seconds. and the sync is near perfect considering the animation wasn't made with the song in mind like it usually is for an OP.
It speaks to the talents of the staff that they could make carefully made clips into what I genuinely thought was the real opening. But knowing that the staff just didn't have the OP ready before it was time to air was concerning to learn
Not denying that Japan has a horrible work environment But Zom 100 has some bomb animations. One of the reasons could be that they put most of their eggs into the show which I see makes sense Prioritize the show before the op

It could go both ways, but I think that most studios would do anything for the opening to get finished before the first episodes. Including reducing the quality or overworking the employees.

I showed my dad the show and he kept commenting on how dumb of decisions they were making. But the show is more about how you spend your life when you realize your mortality. It’s just in the most over the top, comedic way possible. I just really appreciate Akira’s unwavering pursuit of his own happiness. It’s a goofy show, but somehow it really resonates.

I love version 2 so much It was interesting seeing the op evolve cause for a while it had the ep 1 op and then changed to just whatever happened last ep and put it in the op, now they finally have a full op that looks fantastic I always thought that middle part in ep 1 op looked plain. (The part where zombies are walking and some times you’ll see paint splatter)
Really sucks that this anime is on indefinite hiatus, it was maybe the best anime last season so I'm sad to see it might not be finished for a good while
I charted my top 100 anime openings and figured a friggin Kana Boon song is number 1 :D this song is so mesmerizing and the second version is the most perfect opening! the vibe, the dancing, the performance, just perfection
Before finishing the anime i had no context as to why half of the openings until the ep 9 were a recap of the previous episode, stil as the episodes progressed and bits of the opening were changing to the final version i thought it was like the opening were "evolving" until it's final form. After learning the real reason, i still find it clever the way they did to work arround the production issues. And the fact that the clips of each recap were mostly the more relevant parts and that also fitted with the pace of the music shows that in spite of the problems, they still made an effort
U can see how bad the schedule are for the anime staff.. to give us the unfinished version of the opening, glad the new version come out great! I hope the rest of the episode wont be delayed anymore.
When I first heard the opening I honestly think there was gonna be some dancing zombies and lo’ and behold once the opening was completed, THERE WERE DANCING ZOMBIES and I never felt so happy in my life that every time the opening comes on I’d dance to it. I just really hold this opening dearly to my heart and I find Tendou REALLY relatable in this new stage of my life. So yeah, one of my favourite anime and I’m glad the studio went all out with it.

I love the new opening! The truth is that the first one was quite... repetitive at times, because they only played some clips from chapter 1 and zombies walking or running. But the second opening has a lot of personality and goes with the song. I thought it was fascinating that they put the phrase "Memento mori" remember that you will die. Both the versions are good and are made for the anime watcher as the op1 hides the 3 characters as a suspense and the op 2 greatly shows them all enjoying as the characters are already been introduced im lokking forward to seeing Season 2

It's so foreboding and a powerful message of the world they live in still being wrought with peril. But in terms of the meaning of the series, op 2 simply nails it.
