In the video of the crash that has been widely circulated, you can see the Church of Dmitry Solunsky in Yablonovo, Belgorod Russia. This church has aspire on its western side and a dome on its eastern side. You can see the spire and dome clearly in the video with the spire on the left, which means that the video was shot from the south of the church, and the plane was heading north-east.
The plane was shot down while flying from Belgorod, in the Belgorod region. And the Russians say that he was shot down while they were transporting prisoners to Belgorod. In the opposite direction than what was on the radar.
There's also something strange about the governor of the Belgorod region issuing a public warning just prior to the plane being hit. As I understand it, the missiles were picked up by radar, but would the governor get the alert that quickly?

The normal procedure would be to call for protected airspace when a PoW exhange is due to take place. According to the Ukrainians, no request had been made. Either there weren't any PoW's aboard, or the Russians saw it fit to neglect to make the request.
According to the Russian side they made such request. Ukraine side did not deny. Also the POW exchange paperwork was done in Qatar - so we should know soon what did it contain.

If the PoW's were held further back, they would probably first be transported by plane. I understand the Russians normally do transport PoW's by plane in connection with exhanges, but they alert the Ukrainians to the fact so the planes won't get targeted.

The normal procedure would be to call for protected airspace when a PoW exhange is due to take place. According to the Ukrainians, no request had been made. Either there weren't any PoW's aboard, or the Russians saw it fit to neglect to make the request.
According to the Russian side they made such request. Ukraine side did not deny. Also the POW exchange paperwork was done in Qatar - so we should know soon what did it contain.
